I just needed to tell you something.
Two days ago, it occurred to me that the Once-ler would make an awesome Forest Guardian after his passing. It just fit so naturally in my head...like that was, in a way, what was meant to happen all along. But it never occurred to me someone else might feel the same.
Then last night, I discovered your fanfics. Not only does your vision perfectly fit my pre-existing headcanon in almost every way, but the writing is just...amazing. The characters are presented so beautifully and true to the original, the writing itself is great in a technical sense (something somewhat hard to find in fanfic), the plot is incredibly moving...I could go on and on.
Just thought you should know.

Oh man, this is going to sound horribly awkward and childish because I've never been good at taking compliments but THANK YOU!
I think it's awesome when I discover other people have had the same headcanon about the Once-Ler becoming a forest guardian. I just, I dunno, I think it's really cool!
And thank you so very, very much for the compliment on my writing. And thank you for taking the time to read them and--just thank you! <3

Also, you'd be surprised at all the stuffses that pops up in my head, Once-ler wise. Even more has been popping up since I started reading your stuffses.
Oh, I ran into an acquaintance of yours on IMVU. I was telling her about your amazing ideas, and linked. And she goes: Oh my gawd, it's Hoseki! Apparently, you guys worked on some Hanna is Not a Boy's Name stuff once...anyhoo, I thought is was a really rather amazing coincidence. Small world!

I'm not completely sure but considering the fact that like 90% of players play BECAUSE of the show, they HAVE to bring it back too. Chaotic's been picked up by Kodo entertainment, and they're working of redistributing Chaotic to get it's ratings up again. Chaotic Bloggers on the official site has made a special request for the current players to bring in their friends and bring some life back into the system. I've been going around on Deviantart finding old fans like you to see if they want to help out.
DOES THIS MEAN YOU'RE IN?!

And like i said, i think they have to bring back the show because it's what got people interested in the game in the first place. The best chance at getting the show back is by saving the game. And din't worry, a LOT of people have been asking about the show, so it's not something they can just ignore.

I really like it too. If they do bring it back, I hope they put a bit more focus on Perim instead of Chaotic, I mean Chaotic's cool and it's not like I want them to completely cut out the matches, but I really, really want to see a bit more interaction between the four main humans and the creatures of Perim. It seems like over half of their conversations with the creatures happen off screen, like I think Tangath-Toborn mentioned once he saw Tom talking to Maxxor, but Tom talks to Maxxor directly like twice, both of them were in the first two episodes, and Tangath wasn't there for either of them. Any other time it's like a warning that he tells Intress first who THEN tells Maxxor. Hell, my favorite episode is 'Chaor's Commandos part 1' because we get to see Kaz and Chaor actually interact for longer than a minute. And I loved how Chaor was kind of like that jerkass older brother that pretends not to care but can't resist trying to show off in front of his little brother. That just somehow fits!
What about you? What do you hope to see more of if the show comes back?

HosekiDragon In reply to ChaoticArtCrazy [2012-10-02 12:54:32 +0000 UTC]
All of that.
And just, lore, man. I love lore and backstory and character development.
I would also like to see a bit more of the kids in the real world, so to speak. I mean, we got more of in the second and third seasons but there's got to be some sort of consequence to porting back and forth, right? I mean aside from having your deck locked in the real world.
Does Chaotic have a timezone? Does it cycle between night and day? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH I WANT TO PICK APART THIS KID'S SHOW AAARRRHHHHGGGG.
And yeah, more interaction between the humans and Creatures is always good.
It was great to see them going from thinking of the Creatures as just tools for a card game to being actual people and treating them more that way.
CAN I JUST HAVE MORE OF EVERYTHING YES GOOD PLEASE

ChaoticArtCrazy In reply to HosekiDragon [2012-10-03 19:43:18 +0000 UTC]
It makes sense too! Like 99% of the Chaotic players in Chaotic are between five and seventeen, kids and teenagers who wouldn't understand the magnitude of a war like the one in Perim unless it directly affects them somehow. Tom and the others are the only ones, that we've seen, who've spent enough time in Perim to really understand the war and feel for the creatures. They still enjoy Chaotic, but they can separate it from Perim, and aren't as scan oriented as they were in the first season. Sometimes they don't even scan anything through the entire episode until like the last few minutes, almost like an after thought, if anything at all.
Hell, the very last episode proves how much the kids have grown since the first season. When Tangath was about to leave they all have this devastated look on their faces. Tom looked like he was about to seriously cry! Had it been in the first season they would've felt bad yeah, but not like they were losing a dear friend.
The creatures get character development too! Remember Tangath's team at the Borderlands, how they treated Tom, Kaz, and Peyton when they caught them near the camp? I remember the looks on their faces when Tom came charging in with the mugic, risking getting hit and KILLED by the attacks that were raining down on them. The same kid that they had accused and threatened just that morning, was risking his LIFE to help them. Not to mention outsmarted the Mipedians into their own defeat, which never fails to be awesome. After they win you can see Tom and the others helping out to rebuild the camp, and they're not getting a single dirty look.
Subtle moments like that make you realize that these kids really are making a difference in Perim, and they're helping give their species a better name. Hell, did you SEE how many players were there at the Perithon? My jaw literally dropped because I had NEVER seen that many players in the same place outside of Chaotic, Najarin even WELCOMES the players, something I'm betting not a lot of humans are very used to. And it feels like as the series progresses humans are treated with less and less suspicion, I wouldn't be surprised that if there is a fourth season, a LOT more players are actually exploring and interacting with creatures instead of going in, getting the scan, and getting the hell out before something decides to code them.
Also something else that I'm hoping for is that they even out the male to female ratio in the main cast. Adding another player to the group would be a great way to introduce a new tribe like the Frozen, the creatures that Blugon's card mentions that I really, really, REALLY want to know more about. Hell, adding a M'arrillian player to the group would give them the chance to show the better side of M'arrillians, like that one M'arrillian dude whose name and origin is never mentioned that was just dropped on us in Elementary. Why is he nice? How the hell did he end up with the Mipedians. Are there more M'arrillians like him. WHY THE HELL DID THEY NOT EXPLAIN THIS!?
I even made up two characters specifically for this purpose since my skills as a writer have improved. And they have actual personalities instead of being the quiet one or the aggressive one. I would explain more but I'm not sure if you really want to hear about it. If you do I'd be more than happy to tell you about my idea!

Oooooohhh this text wall made my EVENING.
You have NO IDEA (actually you probably do because you wrote this).
There is so much that goes unexplained and a lot of awesome character growth that goes untouched.
This is what I wanted to touch on with "Overdrive" when I was planning it out; characters, human interaction with Creatures, world building, that sort of thing. We know so pretty much all there is to know about the Dromes and Chaotic, I'm more interested in Perim's lore/history/everything now.
ESPECIALLY considering my theory that Perim is another world in a multiverse and Chaotic is an anchor point built in the limbo between Earth and Perim. WHAT IS PERIM? IT CANNOT SIMPLY BE SOMETHING THAT WAS BUILT. IT HAS A HISTORY. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS!
akdsfhakjshdfjhas
I digress.
We all know what we WANT from the show...but it's highly unlikely we'll get it. Unfortunately, I just...don't put a lot of faith in the writing of cartoons that are geared towards a younger audience. ESPECIALLY from 4Kids.
All the same, if it comes back, you can bet I'm going to watch it.

To actually answer your concern, 4kids doesn't own Chaotic anymore, it went bankrupt. Chaotic's owned by Kodo Entertainment now, and they're currently putting time and money into reviving it. I don't know their history, but maybe if we're lucky they'll be more willing to take risks than 4kids was. Plus I think Chaotic is a concept better geared towards older audiences, believe it or not. When I first introduced it to my Mom she took one look at Intress and immediately questioned that the show was meant for kids. I mean seriously, have you SEEN some of the card art? It's all awesome, don't get me wrong, but you take one look at some of the creatures designs and you realize that the game is supposed to be enjoyed by teenagers and older.
I think the creators of Chaotic were trying to head in that direction. I mean the first season was cool and all but when the second season aired the art style wasn't the only thing that changed. It turned a lot darker, and started taking itself more seriously, especially after the M'arrillians showed up. A lot of people might complain about the art shift (and admittedly if they do make a fourth season they should really redesign Intress), but if you think about it, I think they had to change the animation. The flash animation was cute, and that was the problem. It was making the creatures look cute, not fierce, or threatening, or scary like they were supposed to be. The M'arrillians are a legit threat, they are a danger to the survival of Perim, but nobody was going to take them seriously if they had kept the cutesy animation. With the new somewhat more realistic style, suddenly the creatures seemed a bit more real, and a lot more intimidating.
And the story got darker as well. First season was more slice of life with added creatures and powers. The 'darkest' it ever got was the Maze of Menace episode. What's the first episode in the second season about? Chaotic-Players scanning ultra rare locations and then destroying said locations so that nobody could get scans except from them. That was a bit of a one eighty from season one. At it doesn't stop there, the episode after that has Maxxor losing one of his closest friends to the Danians, and also deals with legit issues like an overbearing father, or the mistrust between the creatures and the humans, the war in Perim, and the M'arrillians, the FREAKING M'ARRILLIANS. They're just a whole tribe full of nightmare fuel. Creatures that can force their own will on you, force you to turn against your tribe, your friends, your family, everybody you love and care about. Hell, remember in Legions of Aa'une when Tom and the others ended up brainwashed. I thought they were about to seriously attack Kaz! And they don't even remember it afterwards! They could make you kill your own best friend and you wouldn't even know it until somebody saved you, if they saved you.
Third season looked like 4kids was trying to make Chaotic more kid friendly again, but the creators were just like nope. The Drankis Threshold plot was a lot of fun for me, because we got to see some actual Perim history! And I admit, I did not see Kiru being Chaor's ancestor coming. Granted I figured it out the moment he said his name, but I was still really shocked. I was really disappointed when they destroyed the threshold so soon, I was like WAIT! WAIT YOU NEVER EXPLAINED HOW KIRU BECAME LEADER OF THE UNDERWORLD! OR HOW THE HELL VLAR OR HIS KID OR SOMETHING BECAME LEADER OF THE OVERWORLD! WHAT THE HELL?!
Oh yeah and thank you 4kids for dropping the bombshell that NAJARIN IS A DAD! I mean WHAT?! I knew Afjak had to be related to Najarin somehow, he looked too much like him NOT to be. But I'd figured he was his nephew or something like that. But no, he's his SON! KFASDFKJ WHO THE HELL IS THE MOTHER!? What happened to her?! Is she dead, is she MIA, WHAT?! I think they were planning on a much more in-depth fourth season to answer the huge info without explanation drop that the third season was, but never got the chance because it went on hiatus
Here's hoping for a fourth season.

I always thought Perim was a parrellel earth, y'know what earth could be if everybody had superpowers and magic and were anthromorphic creatures, and that yeah Chaotic was basically the portal between Earth and Perim. Hell, this might be me putting too much into the show, but i think i figured out how scanners basically work, or at least why creatures can't use them to the same extent as humans.
Basically when a player enters their code, it essentially becomes a clone of them with all of their thoughts, memories, emotions, and such. Their scanner locks down on earth NOT because their Chaotic self needs their deck, but because It simply WON'T REGISTER THEM. Once they enter their code, the scanner will only register that person with the code, nobody else. Since the codes creatures have are EVERCHANGING, it's impossible for them to use the scanners.
This actually becomes a plot point in the story i'm writing when without warning, anybody that was in Perim or Chaotic at a certain time suddenly got an ever changing code. They get nicknamed Perim-Players because they're stuck between Perim and Chaotic after the codemasters manage to rewire the system to register ever changing codes, but now can't link the Chaotic-self with the Earth-self. What do you think, makes sense right?

I actually haven't really gotten to read the books. Saw both parts of Deathly Hollows last night though. Not bad.
I whole heartedly agree, though. Percy Jackson even got a bit messed up with its movie. And even without getting to read the whole book, the movie for Golden compass felt kind of skewed around the end. All good movies still, but so many differences make a person's head spin. XD
