I really struggle with feathers >_< I usually go from feather to leather wings in the middle of a drawing, I just can't do feathers well~ So I admire those who can :3

I read that term somewhere, it's used to describe bat/dragon wings >_< I love drawing skeletons and such anyway, and the structure of bat wings is quite simple to go from bone to muscle and flesh. *suddenly in the mood to draw now*

XD oooh, yeah that makes sense, hahaha no no i thought it was like something for really sharp solid feather wings or something describing the drawing, not the type of wing.

But bird wings are pretty much the same as well actually, if you imagine them as being an arm and then just making them a bit longer.  ^^ i've taken this from one of the tutorials i've read and it stuck with me.  XD yes, yes, go draw!

I really struggle with the individual feather directions as well as the different kinds of feathers(don't know the names but the downy one and the long ones, and the awkward ones in between >_<) and layers and and XD bat wings don't have such complicated things, at the very least it has folds.

I learn by looking at a completed picture rather than step by step ones, if I try step by step it ends up looking rather wonky because I'm impatient. I might end up using yours as reference >_< I learnt how to draw paws and legs this way XD

oh yeah... same here, i really should do more in actually drawing the feathers right and by the book rather than doing what i hope'll look good or look like feathers.  Ahaha but batwings show the inner workings of anatomy too easily that i truely struggle with.  XD  Ahaha those long fingers and muscles on the arm and all.

Hmm, yeah, that kind of makes sense, step by step can be frustrating, i sometimes skip steps.  XD  but thank you!  Ahaha if you want a better reference person you should go and take a look at my most recent journal, there are people on there that i learned from a lot by looking at their wing styles.
