I was quite leery at first when I heard about it going to tv...but then I saw the preview and I was cautiously optimistic...then I saw the first ep. It was worse than I could have imagined. sigh. Oh well, I will always have the books to re-read!!

Hmmm, I saw the preview and I thought it was horrible. They turned it into yet another Hollywood stock-character garbagefest. I wonder how much they paid Terry Goodkind to get that piece of shit idea off the ground

I wasn't overly thrilled with the effects I saw, but the picture quality I saw from the previews and locations were good enough to at least give me a glimmer of hope, which was quickly dashed as soon as I tuned in to the first ep. And good God I don' t know how much it costs to sell one's soul to the Hollywood devil, but Terry obviously did. I thought he had more love for his work than that!! And agreed...everything that made the story unique and thrilling and gripping and awe inspiring were stripped away in lieu of Hollywood scripts and theatrics...which IMHO are bland, boring and so utterly uninspiring in anyway. Sam Raimi took Sword of Truth and turned it into garbage. The only thing I liked about the series was the pretty picture (HD) and locations were gorgeous and after watching two eps...I have to say credits had never looked so damned good! LOL
