You really do have a nice gallery
I especially like some of you flower photos. Point and shoot camera? Mine sucks...and I'm hoping to get a new one eventually...
Particularly since I do a lot of photography myself!
π: 0 β©: 1
Isa-K In reply to Sepulchral-Roses [2009-08-05 16:37:18 +0000 UTC]
Thanks a lot!
I suppose it's a Point and Shoot camera, but if you want to use time on every photo, it's possible
I can strongly recommend it! Quite funny that you ask, because I've just been writing to another guy that likes my pictures and asks to my camera :b He's in the same situation as you
I'll copy what I wrote to him okay? It's quite long but still, if you want to get a new camera, it's important to read a lot before you buy
"I really recommend the Nikon Coolpix P80 that I have, if photographing is just a hobby. It's a cross between a compact camera and a DSLR which means it is lighter, smaller and without the ability to change lense. It has 18 x optical zoom which is more or less the same as a good zoom lense on a DSLR. The closest you can go to an object and focus is 1 cm which is waaaay better than any standard lense on a DSLR. The only way you can get closer on a DSLR is by buying a macro-lense which can be a quite expensive affair. It's good for a start, because if you get interested in photographing and want to do more serious things, like me, you can use it as your secondary camera. Like, when you're travelling and don't want to walk around with a big heavy camera bag, you can just bring it with you because it's so light and relatively small!
If you're interested and want to know more about the features and such, just ask me and I'll try to answer. Most of my pictures are taken with it "
Hope that helped
Oh, and sorry for my english, it's sucks for some reason, extremely much today

Sepulchral-Roses In reply to Isa-K [2009-08-05 16:52:08 +0000 UTC]
Hey thanks!
Really? The macro focus is that good? Sweet! I'll keep that one in mind!
When I take pictures, I just look for something that catches my eye, and do my best to capture it. It's pretty amateur, but I don't usually have the time to plan out a long shoot type thing.
π: 0 β©: 1
Isa-K In reply to Sepulchral-Roses [2009-08-05 17:06:55 +0000 UTC]
It's alright! It's more or less the same that I do. Even though I like to "plan" my photographing a little more
And the macro focus, well it's provided that everything is "perfect". Like good lighting, a clear target, correct zoom length and all that, then you can go really close
But still 3-4 cm away is still good and close
The only negative thing I can say is the colors. They seem a little dull, but it's easy to make them look better in Photoshop, GIMP or Picasa 3 (GIMP and Picasa 3 are both free)
By the way, I've been looking on some of your pictures (damn you have many ) and some of them are quite good, but I understand that you want a better camera A thing I noticed is that a lot of the photo's are from vacations, am I right? You've been to Paris and Rome, that's for sure
Anyways, I thought those pictures were a little "boring". Now don't get me wrong. But those pictures you've taken, they're pretty and you see that It's the eiffel tower you're photographing, but if you're able to turn the eiffel tower into something pretty because it's pretty and not because it's a big landmark, now that would be interesting. Like, focus on one part that makes it hard to see that it's the eiffel tower or play with the light that comes through the many metal beams and such things.
I hope you understand, it's really to explain when your english sucks. I don't know why I have such an off-day :b
For instance, the newest picture I've added to my gallery, Divine Battle, is actually St. Pauls Cathedral. One of my Watchers is trying to guess what building it is, but she can't. She though it was the St. Peters Church in Rome
Now that's something that makes me happy, because I succeded to make a big landmark look like something else (Okay, I know, it's looking like another landmark, but still, it's a beginning )
π: 0 β©: 1
Sepulchral-Roses In reply to Isa-K [2009-08-05 17:28:57 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I use GIMP, it's pretty good
Yeah, I do understand what you mean by that. (And what are you talking about? Your English is perfectly fine!) It's a good way to make them seem out of the ordinary, that's for sure! I try to do little plays on light and stuff, but I've never thought about making them seem different from what they are.
Thanks so much for the help!

To be honest with you.. didn't even realize you weren't english from reading all that
Sounds good i was planning on buying the same as my .. 2nd.. or 3rd cousin had for her birthday off her husband, Nice DSLR and comes with macro lense ect, nice package deal, and i need not worry about the price anyway, i have little expenses
But yes i will take a look more thoroughly and comment when i have time, i looked at a few earlier properly, and scanned over majority, but don't have time right at this moment too look properly and comment, maybe tonight before i sleep and i'm too lazy to do anything else

Isa-K In reply to Mr-Rev [2009-08-05 16:26:26 +0000 UTC]
Hahaha thanks a lot!
You know what to say to cheer me up
Well, then go for it! Didn't knew you had that option
Sounds good. As I mentioned in my journal, I might be able to buy a nikon D70 even though I'd rather have a Canon. But I have to start somewhere and if I can get it cheap, then I should go for it, I guess It's because I've been borrowing a Canon EOS 400D from my dads office and DAMN! It's the best camera I've ever used! I know there's bigger and better camera's but it feels so right when I use it Can't really describe it :b
Anyways, I can't afford buying a camera at the moment. I am starting in Gymnasium the 12th of August so my spare time for photographing will be limited and another thing is, that I need a laptop as well. It's required So I need to buy one and since I want one that can a little more than just writing (since I'm not planning on buying new laptop every year) it's quite expensive. And I'm perhaps going to invest in a better desktop as well. One with a better processor, a graphicscard with CUDA-technology (which makes rendering and photoshop MUCH faster) and MUCH more RAM. Perfect for school, gaming and Photo/video-stuff
It's going to be expensive
Anyways, I can afford it, but not much money left
But whatever, money doesn't make you happy, they're just quite handy to have
And don't feel pushed to look at my gallery :b Just do it whenever you feel like it and want to
and Thanks

Mr-Rev In reply to Isa-K [2009-08-05 18:18:00 +0000 UTC]
Yeah i have been working full time since left high school, so have been able to afford a few things, bought myself a rather 'epic' desktop if i may say so myself hehe, i was using my cousins camera which is Canon EOS 500D, next one up? and its just lovely, there is a package deal from Jessops at the moment, so i think i may go for it.
The laptop on top is a bit of a kick in the teeth, fortunetly i do not need one, all i need is my desktop for personal use.
I saw about the Nikon in your Journal, that will still be very good i bet eh? As people keep telling me, its not about the camera at the end of the day, but how you use it.. i have been given that same tip when comes too sex... Hmm..
Anyway! Good luck with the Gymnasium stuff too and looking forward too seeing you post stuff..
Strange that i know we have only sent a few messages back and forth now, but rather enjoy typing these out too you, we should talk more about things
For example.. any ideas for photoshopping photos? so far i just tend to blur background ALOT, sharpen the Focal, and maybe stick a B&W Gradient on it, for the most part, not sure what else too try.
Hmm, im talking alot,
And again, good luck

Isa-K In reply to Mr-Rev [2009-08-05 20:30:07 +0000 UTC]
Haha awesome! I think you should go for it, if you think you will be using it a lot And if it should happen, that you get tired of photographing, then you can just give it to me?
It's a total 'win/win situation' :b (danish expression invented by a commercial).
May I ask you to reveal the sacred specs of your newly bought 'epic' desktop? And yeah, the laptop-part. It's so annoying that I HAVE to buy a laptop, because I prefer using my desktop and nothing else. Too many machines and I can't hold my systems and such (my files are very organized Well, I like to think that).
And yeah, the Nikon D70 will be really good Even though I'd like Canon :b But as I mentioned before, you have to start somewhere, so I should rather be grateful that it's possible to get a SLR relatively cheap
Rather funny that you wrote: "As people keep telling me, its not about the camera at the end of the day, but how you use it.. i have been given that same tip when comes too sex... Hmm.."
Because I said EXACTLY the same today (not the sex-part though :b) to one who liked my pictures and were asking to my camera :b She said that her own sucked and she'd like one like mine (or better of course... If that existed duh! Nah, just kidding, of course there's better camera's ) and I said that it's not the camera but the person behind it
Oh yeah, about the sex-part. We have an expression in danish called: "Det er ikke stΓΈrrelsen, men gΓΈrrelsen" which directly translated means "It's not the size, but what it does" or something like that. I guess that was what you meant ;b
'GΓΈrrelsen' is not a real danish word by the way, so don't think danish is the weirdest language on earth just because of that weird looking/sounding word
About the Photoshopping... I usually do the same on every picture and then a little more if needed. Well, I've done a 'little more' on almost any picture, but for instance this picture [link] has done a lot of 'little more'. I made the glowing much stronger but I didn't 'change' anything really. Didn't merge with other photo's or such
Anyways, thanks for the good-luck-wishing, I'll need it :b
And yeah, we should talk more about 'things'. I enjoy writing with you as well. Even though my english f***ing sucks today! It's so hard to write for once :b I'm usually quite good at writing in my opinion (definitely better at writing than at speaking it :b).
Anyways, hope you understood it all and thanks

Mr-Rev In reply to Isa-K [2009-08-05 20:48:57 +0000 UTC]
All makes perfect sense too me, Right here we go, my turn to type out a nice long message.. >.< Hopefully i shall get it, and will do me good, and i don't give things for free, has too be worth my time and money 'Win/win Situation' is also used in england, maybe took it from you who knows.
Also, your Danish? Two of my best online friends i game with everyday and always talking too are Danish brothers xD good guys them.
I was in same situation, i asked for any tips and stuff and said "Meh my camera isn't really good enough too get alot of stuff, hopefully a new one will help" and thats when i was told about its what you take and how you take them ect.
England also uses that saying "Its not the size that counts! but how you use it!"
Any language other than English i find strange.. Considering i learnt French in school and Lived in Spain for 3 years, and have many friends in different countries.. I still find them all weird, i have just never been very good at learning languages.
That photo is just Mmm (commented it by the way) Photoshop, i know of merging the photos ect, never really given it a go, might be worth it when the time comes, like i said i just mostly do the blur and sharpen, maybe i should experiment a little bit.
No problem when comes to the goodluck wishes
Talking is always fun so yesh we should.
And once again, so far i haven't seen no real problems with anything, all easily readable and understandable.
Now time for me too sleep, work in a few hours lol, Night

Isa-K In reply to Mr-Rev [2009-08-06 11:07:04 +0000 UTC]
Glad that you actually understood what I wrote yesterday :b
I think we took 'Win/win Situation' from England. Danes aren't that creative Or well, that's not true actually, do you know Carlsberg? A danish brewery that sits on 99% of the market in Danmark and probably the rest of the world (Just kidding, but seriously) They own like 50% of Heiniken and all the other big brands, but they actually make good and funny commercials
Okay that was a little off-topic... :b
Erhm, *reading* *mumble*size that counts*mumble* Oh yeah, I knew you had something similair to the danish saying, but just for the sake of it I translated it directly :b
And I agree on the langauge-part. Anything else than english seems weird.
Danish can be really strange too. It's actually a quite difficult language to learn because the written part is probably the hardest and when you learn a new language it helps a lot to be able to write and read it when you have to speak it, but since it's not really possible it's quite hard.
Or I was told so :b (and sorry once again, that part was a little confusing for me to write :b)
Glad that you like my pictures I was thinking of 'Cleaning' the gallery soon, like not deleting pictures, just hiding them and make it look a little more 'rofessional' Like only the best of the best
Anyways, not sure wheter I'm going to do it or not yet :b
Have a good day at work

Ugh, i'm wet.
Yeah it was fine to read, Pfft i know a few Danes and they seem rather creative too me
I LOVE Carlsberg and pretty much everything else too >.> Hehe.. Funny commercials are always good
"Size that Counts" for the win
Yeah i understand what you mean, does help if can write it too and what not, I think that is a reason in ways, i think English may be rather easy too learn, because there is not like many different ways too say one sentence, for it to refer too someone that is female or male like you can have in Spanish, or the like, i don't know, i'm just typing randomly for the hell of it.
(You seemed too write it fine too me, no better or worse than any English people i know Need too stop putting your English skills down! lol)
Always a good thing really to do, nice tidy up, yes, i do like a good few! Very nice stuff
Good luck with whatever as i have said

I train kids in football, work as an assistant (slave) at little private firm-thingy, and I pack tea in a teashop (I know it sounds gay, but nice work conditions and such ). I'm going to the teashop today as a matter of fact

Haha okay You should seriously consider playing TF2. It's awesome I actually think it funnier to play than Css (probably because I've played it so much - but it's still fun once in a while) You have any non-steam games? I used to play the Total War-series if that says you something. Awesome games for sure, but you really need to have A LOT of time or else it won't be fun. I'm currently playing TF2, Anno 1404 and Far Cry 2 If you know those? They're bloody great! ;D
And about the work... I'd like doing what I do instead of yours to be honest. It's not bad work or anything, I just hate cleaning And tidying up :b

I avoid cleaning this stuff is called cleaning, but isn't like yesterday, was in offices cleaning carpets, i managed too spend alot of time leanin out window watching people in town while getting air, we have amachine that heats water too over 80 degrees celcius, and blasts it into carpet and sucks it up, add chemicals too and it just tends too be extremely hot in there xD i love total war, but i have uninstalled everything off my pc for now except L4D and Prototype, because not playing much, leave a bit of space when new games come out
