# About me
I've considered myself an artist for nearly 50 years. I've been considered an artist for about 35 years. I've been an artist eternally.I've done nearly every genre, style and technique imaginable. Oil, watercolor, acrylic, airbrush, ink, clay, wood, logos to murals. About the only medium I've never worked in is metal.
I've been a cartoonist, a t-shirt designer, a surrealist, an illustrator, a graphic artist, a performance artist and many other "things". I've been so many "things" and reinvented myself so many times that, now, I just want to do a consistent cohesive body of work that I can leave for the ones I love.
Most of what I do now is western genre wood burning or pyrography. It works like painting but looks like drawing. I gain a lot of satisfaction from the finished work. I still do some work from many of my past manifestations, but something about horses, cowboys, gunfights and barroom brawls that holds my interest like nothing else.

I almost broke even on A/R, with airfare, hotel, car, etc.
Hey, google "juried art competitions". There's a lot more than A/R out there and your participation will help give you a fantastic resume when you get out of school.
