Haha i know that feeling. I was almost there too. I already mention my time issues too in my other artwork comments so welcome to the club of getting old and limited free time XD. For me not closing the account was simple. Just wanna inspire ppl more to draw mechs and to show how others that inspire me improve my works. It's pretty much both ways.
Just dont give up bro, the little bit of time doing that one piece of work will add up in due time. Lots of my art are hanging but i do finish them if you push on.Β

When you're around I got a question for you regarding some rigging. I probably haven't been able to find a tut due to not knowing the right terminology. But I need help with rigging a flexable pipe that tracks two fixed points.
The context being a hydraulic hose line that flexs as the leg or arm moves [the base being one anchor point, then the moving limb being the other anchor point]
Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried creating IK chains before? That's pretty much what I'd use since I'm not too familiar with other deformers in blender. It's similar how you'd do an IK chain for an arm or a leg, the only difference is that, since it's a hose, you'll probably need to put more bones in it, depending on the length and how much deforming it needs. This is one of the tutorials that I really found useful for pistons and hosesΒ www.blender.org/documentation/β¦ , it's for the old versions of blender but the same rules apply.

I've never used IK chains so you got a tut for that too? >.< I know most advanced rig's use IK but I haven't gotten that far yet.

Here's the tutorial that I find the most useful for riggingΒ cgcookie.com/blender/2011/12/1β¦
And here's an alternative if you don't want to mess with armatures yet. It uses curves instead of bones.Β www.rab3d.com/tut_blen_2-63_hoβ¦

Thanks. I saved the tut link and I'll look at them in a bit. I actually know how to rig mechanical objects fine. Since the parts don't flex or distort like an organic character does. That's why I'm trying to learn how to do the hydraulic line since it's a way to intrigrate organic rigging into my mechanical pieces and add another layer of detail, since I already know how to rig a piston with the track to function.

I don't have a Tumblr but I've been keeping up with your stuff on there. It's sometimes rather hard to actually get ahold of you to talk at times man xD [I refuse to integrate google+ with my youtube so I can't use youtube messaging/comments now]

Why not try tumblr? I find it more interesting than DA and a lot more flexible than DA. And yeah I really hate what they've done with YouTube. I never was interested in Google+ but they keep forcing it on everyone.

I don't mind Tumblr but I don't really feel I have enough content to really provide for it to be worth it. You and Tofu are on Tumblr but I'm not sure I want to drag my ass to a website just for one or two people [no offense intended]

Don't think of it as a gallery, it's more of a blog/ Β reblogging site where you can share your interests to anyone(via tagging which works a lot better than DA). Some of the stuff don't have to be yours so long as you give credit to the owner and not claim it as your own. If you've noticed I've already made a lot of AC-related photo sets over there, most of it are not even mine.Β

How good is it's private messaging system however? And would you even want to deal with someone like me who's so adamant on talking, on Tumblr.

There's an option where you can answer stuff privately, but the downside is you can't read any sent messages unless it was posted publicly.Β

That seems like a rather strange choice when it comes to handeling messages. I know there's the whole Anon' thing you can use without being signed in and I've used that a few times to leave messages on Tofu's Tumblr [a friend of mine]
