Oh and what do you think of the scenario then? I find it rather bad especially with Infinite, the transition of 6 month and the other characters who are a little ... spectators who entrust the fate of the world to the Avatar and the two Sonic.

Okay, where to start?
I like Infinite, but they could've do a better job with his character and backstory. I didn't like the fact that you have to read the comics to know more about him when it should've been shown in the game. Why did Infinite so easily join Eggman? What is it about the world that makes him want to change it? Did Shadow killed his squad, or did he just knock them out? His fight with Shadow obviously made a negative impact on his mental health (and ego), but there has to be more on why he didn't want to be "weak". Did he have a rough past that led him and his squad to become mercenaries? What did Eggman do to him after he failed in killing Sonic and the Avatar? He had a lot of potential, but the execution wasn't done well in his favor.

The other villains either have very little or no impact on the story. Why was Chaos there when we don't even get to fight him? He doesn't affect the story whatsoever. Shadow didn't need to be cloned, and fake Zavok is an idiot for removing Sonic's shackles. They had a lot of potential in bringing back old enemies, but the execution was terribly done.

As for the other characters, I'm a bit disturbed with how little Sonic's friends can handle themselves without him. They pretty much tell us that the world cannot be saved unless Sonic is there. Screw Shadow, Silver, Tails, and any other character that can fight just as well as him. Sonic is the only one who can save us. Which…is…bull crap. What was Shadow doing when Sonic was in Eggman's custody? Why was Tails afraid of Chaos when he fought and defeated him in past games? Classic Sonic took him out with one hit, so that should be more than enough for Tails to handle. As a matter of fact, why didn't Tails help Sonic when he was getting beat up by their past enemies? Sure, they'll probably still lose the fight, but at least Sonic would be grateful to know that someone has his back. Silver came to help, but his presence did little to impact the story. That on its own makes no sense. When a character from the future goes to the past to fix things, it's because the one they have to help failed to do so alone. In his case, Silver traveled to the past because Sonic failed to protect the world. He should be a factor in changing the course of events, but he's not. All he did in his individual screen time is fight Infinite, lose, then sit back and let Sonic handle it afterwards. Silver just can’t catch a break in this series.

As for the playable characters, Classic Sonic did not need to be in this game. Beside engaging in boss battles and being Tails's temporary body guard, he didn't do much in the story. His gameplay seems to be the worse out of the three. Modern Sonic needs to tone down his humor and take the situation seriously when it calls for it. And the Avatar…is fine. I just wish they put more focus on your custom character and give the player more options other than customization. Wouldn’t it be cool if they had a feature where you can take multiple paths in the story? Choosing which character you want to follow or bring with you on a mission is a fun idea. I know there are many fans who would love to see their OC befriend their favorite Sonic character, but nooope. It’s all about Sonic.

The game itself is way too short. The stages are short, and the fact that this was in development for four years is just…really? Come on Sega. You can do better than this. Sonic Forces is far from the worst Sonic game, but it has a lot of flaws.

I see that I am not the only one to be disappointed by this game that should have been the big come back of Sonic Team  

I agree with you on many points even though I cannot appreciate Infinite as a villain. I consider him more like a new sergeant in the service of Eggman than as a real villain, a kind of insolent Metal Sonic I could say but even there I find that Metal Sonic is a better villain. 
Infinite at great potential I agree but ... Jackal's backstory in the comic has no importance and no impact on the character of Infinite in the game:
-Jackal is a character who wants to change the world that has been traumatized by the defeat of his squad and the humiliation inflicted on him by Shadow.

-Infinite ... he is a guy without a real purpose who wants to prove that he is the strongest and who obeys only two things: his ego and Eggman.

It's a... absurd and incoherent development for a character. 
If I had developed the story of Jackal he would have become a villain who would also have wanted to take revenge on Shadow and who would not have hesitated to betray or even attempt to kill Eggman to satisfy his own ambitions (a kind of Mephiles who would have worked with Eggman to make it simple).

If I had developed a backstory for Infinite ... seeing the character in Forces, I just said it was an Eggman creation without story because he did not have much to say about the character.

I still have a hard time believing that some declare that Infinite is the best villain of the series when ... bha all the others have more or less been more independent and complete than him. At the limit better than Zavok and captain Whisker I could say yes but say it is better than Erazor Jin, Metal Sonic in Heroes, Dark Queen and Mephiles .... no I don't understand.

Otherwise for the other points I would just add:

The other characters ... you probably know that I hate fanservice in Sonic games but Forces forces me (involuntary wordplay) to say that in other games it was more or less justify.
In the other games when a character was doing fanservice:
-the adventure isn't very importante and didn't concern the characters (like in Colors for example)
-the character didn't participate in the adventure because of a specific reason (Amy and Knuckles in Lost World or all the characters in Generation)

-the character appears too late in the adventure (Knuckles in 06, Silver in Generation...) or there is a lot of important characters in the game.

But in Forces ... none of his criteria is present:
-This adventure is important or rather "should be important"

-only 3 important heroes ... Rather 2 because classic Sonic doesn't do anything really important except... babysitting Tails.

-All the characters are present from the beginning and could all have accomplished great things, even if it was just shown in cutscene

Honestly for me, the characters have so little personality and importance in this game that they could have been replaced by OCs because it didn't correspond to their roles and their personnality.

The worst scene of the game that proves they are useless is probably the scene of the destruction of the death egg. You imagine that they at least served as a diversion or attacked the Death Egg to help Sonic, the Avatar and classic but you find them all in the headquarters just proving that they were watching the adventure on the giant screen....

The copy, replica, illusion or copy of Zavok, Chaos, Shadow and Metal Sonic... I wonder why they made them appear in this game (except to be centers of interest to attract the fans and the players) because they have no real importance for the scenario and could have been replaced by robots boosted with prototypes of Phantom Ruby given the little personality and action they have:

-Zavok is the only one who speaks...  he says nothing of interesting and his boss level is ... absurd for me because he's almost non-existent as he only serves as a target to defeat the Queen Buzz Bomber. Why not try to create a level that highlights its strengths and not its ability to control machines ?
-Metal Sonic... Why make a copy of him when the real one is already working for Eggman ? They could even have created a rivalry between the real Metal Sonic and Infinite for a bit of intrigue

-Chaos and Shadow ... the most useless and disappointing because not only are they useless and are defeated in one go ... but the notion of treason that everyone hoped to see in other characters is absent. Nobody wonders why Shadow is with Eggman or even why Chaos is back and to become bad again. And I'm not talking about the fact that Shadow's copy could have been some sort of way for Infinite to get his revenge on Shadow.

And let's not talk about the "clone wars" scene where the copies are beaten like simple robots whereas they are supposed to have the same capacities and powers as the real characters.

For Silver ... his presence is completely absurd because this adventure does not affect the future and time and Silver does not try to change things as protected a character who should have died for example. The only things that could have justified the presence of Silver:
-Infinite that would come from the future like Eggman Nega.

-Classic Sonic that would come from the past like in Generation.

At least the good point is that he is the most optimistic and independent character of Sonic because he is the one who declares that they have saved the world without Sonic and ... the only one we see tempted to do something even if it's only for one scene.

After ... I admit that it would have been more logical if he had been replaced by Blaze. But... imagined Blaze unable to save the world for 6 months while she owns the Sol Emeralds and become a useless character like the others who just watched Sonic and Avatar defeat Eggman and Infinite ... I find her insulting to her (it's insulting for all the characters). At the limit they could have made Blaze appear after classic Sonic but it would have been a little useless because she would have had no real importance  

The transition of 6 months ... what to say ...

I agree that it is absurd to imagine Silver, Shadow, Knuckles and co who would be unable to stop Eggman for 6 months without giving us a real explanation except "Sonic is absent" but I think that they would have done a better game by showing us these famous 6 months rather than showing us the end of the adventure. Showcased how Knuckles became the leader of the resistance and how he evolved into this role, showing how Shadow and the others reacted by learning about Sonic's defeat and seeing the copies. for the first time. That's what I was hoping to see in the Shadow DLC a game that shows the adventure from Shadow's point of view and would also explain why he couldn't save the world.

Speaking of this DLC... saying that it's a deception is soften the reality because this DLC is part of the "scam" part of the game for me. It was announced as "the revelation about the fate of the Dark Team" (or something like that) and yet ... he explains just why Jackal wears a mask and is called Infinite (and the already very popular "I'm not weak! ". And the comic shows a better origin for Infinite (absurd because nonexisten and no important for Infinite but better).

They could at least have created a scene that explains why Shadow didn't join the resistance during 6 months.

The Avatar should have had more interaction with the other characters and the idea of ​​teaming up with them is totally logical because the avatar has no experience and is probably one of the things everyone has been waiting for this game ( especially remembering the level of crisis city with Blaze in Generation for example). I don't understand why they didn't do it especially that in the first comic we see that the Chaotix (who are useless in the game) act like mentors for him.

This is not the only thing that I blame for the Avatar because its introduction into the game is just horrible but it's mainly because of the rescue of Sonic that happens ridiculously very quickly. I don't know it's so complicated to create basic missions to learn how to control the wyspon or to prove itself as a member of the resistance and then find yourself in a shuttle that will lead to the Death Egg (by accident or like a prisoner) for example ? 

Instead we have a scene that just makes me feel like the other characters are saying "Hold the Wispon and save the world while we watch you on the screen" 

The gameplay too is not exceptional, not only the levels are very short but they are also really very easy. The avatar is the most interesting of the 3 characters for me because those of classic and Sonic are really bad compared to Generation, Colors and Mania and Shadow's is too much like a trickier recycling of Sonic's gameplay.
And I'm not talking about the double boost and cutscenes where you have to make a button combination, appyué at the right time or several times. The truth is that if you do not do anything the game will give you a "correct" score and continue the cutscene (and the double boost sequences are done in a straight line so you have nothing to do there too)

I also don't speak bosses that are very simple and repetitive especially in boost formula with Sonic or the famous and useless "Null Space level", the last form of the Death Egg Robot which is nothing more than a Mecha Mother Wisp or Super Sonic form that you get by collecting ... 50 rings.

After this is a new engine like with 06... why they change engine when the engine of Generation is very good ? No idea. But an engine that had (3 years of development unlike 06 who had only 1) and that would have occupied the developers so much that they only used one year for the scenario.

At least that's what I heard, but if it's true it's really absurd.

As absurd as the lies announced by SEGA for attracting players and which I call part "scam":

-The return of old villains including Shadow and Chaos... Copies are barely present

-The teams who worked on Colors and Generation who also work on Forces... You see mostly developers of Lost World in the staff
-A world dominated by Eggman that must be released ... I don't call this game a "global" adventure like Unleashed or Mario Odyssey. Especially since the world of Sonic is set to be rather large with a lot of environment.
-"Join the Résistance"... * Sigh * If only this famous Resistance was more present and active

-"Infinite" character we already see or that Sonic and the others knows... uh really ?
-Shadow's DLC = fate of the team Dark
-Classic Sonic= important hero

After another thing that bothers me in this game and is accentuated by the famous 6 months... Where are the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald ? The Master Emerald appears in the comic with Knuckles who is his guardian again (finally)  but in 6 months neither Eggman nor the Resistance try to find the chaos emeralds ? I know they've lost a lot of importance in games (they just became tools for Sonic to become Super Sonic) but I thought they would have been useful in this game.

I would not say that Forces is a bad game either ... but rather a lazy and bland game that will probably be forgotten as Rise of the Lyric (unless it gets a sequel) especially if the Avatar (which is the only thing to remember from this game) is developed and is present in the next games.
