Hair is really tricky. It's easiest if you shade it in (leaving room for where it is supposed to be lightest, and then use a cap eraser to do the highlights. That's how I do it

Blond can be the worst, just keep the shades lighter and lighten even more with the eraser.

Dark hair is definitely better. It looks more realistic in the end. But just keep at it, you will be able to get blond easily ^^

I did that for a while. It helps a little bit, but the picture is darker and it is sooooo hard to make it straight lol

If you can, try getting a cannon pixma scanner, it works nicely for me, fades out some of the lighter shading, but it stays pretty well.
