Lol, I've been seeing them on FB. I love seeing the progress. I think it will be so pretty when it is done. You have the cutest house. And I wanted to fave everything you posted, but I was a good girl and restrained myself. I have so many things to upload....I wish dA would get its act together.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the porch pictures! I also think watching the progress is exciting but I admit I'm enjoying this three day weekend with no contractors at my house. They're all really nice and polite but I can be kind of a hermit and I like my privacy...Oh thanks about my house - I think it's cute too - I was so drawn to it because it had an old fashioned front porch. Kind of ironic that the porch wasn't built properly and it came back to bite me 8 years later. I'm just so grateful I caught it and got it repaired before it fell down and damaged the roof. Owning a house is an adventure sometimes but I am ever grateful for my own little house...

Oh by the way Dan got hired for a job! I don't know how long this will last because he really wanted part time and this is full time. But at least he will finally be earning some money and have a reason not to sleep all day. The job is a car porter for a car dealership, moving the cars around the lot. He loves cars so it's a good place for him to be until acting work or a better regular job comes along.

My hope is that if they get to know him and like him there, maybe they could adjust his hours to a part time status. He wants to work but he also wants some free hours every week to go on auditions now that he'll have the money to go into New York City to do that. I'm behind him 100% that it's too soon in the game to give up on his dream and devote himself only to a full-time job. He only just graduated with the theater major - he needs to at least give it a shot. We'll see what happens...but thanks again for the plants you sent him - I do think that they and your good energy had a positive effect. He'll hang onto them for future interviews/auditions.

Oh well, even though I got a second wind around dinnertime, I've been thoroughly exhausted today after last night's gig at the shore. It was totally fun but I'm not a night person and I didn't get home till close to midnight. I felt like I was sleepwalking most of the day. So I think I will go chill with Summer for a while...Hope you had a beautiful day

I thank you for the same. I hate that I haven't been as active lately. Life has just become so chaotic. I love the shots of Elissa and Summer. I just have to tell you, the cd you sent me has become one of mine and Pixie's faves! She has even started singing along with it in the car!

It's hard to balance so many things in life. I go through the same thing trying to take care of every responsibility to myself and to the world...You'll find a way to make time for creativity - it will all fall into place..I'm so glad you and Pixie are enjoying the CD - that means the world to me that Pixie likes the songs enough to want to sing along with them

And your friendship is a much needed reminder of the wonderful connections life brings us today after a very challenging experience I had last night and this morning with someone who I thought was nice but turned out to be, well, not at all a kindred spirit.

She was the mother of one of the editors I worked for at my last job, who became a real friend over the years. Her mom had friended me on FB too last year and seemed like a nice enough lady, so I was really shocked at what happened last night.

To make a long, bizarre story short, the mom launched a strange and irrational, very personal verbal attack on me after I tried to respond peacefully but firmly to some real hate speech she was spouting. She became the first person I've ever defriended on facebook (the reason behind my status today and the adl article I posted...)

When people are just being general jerks, I make it a point to keep my mouth shut and stay out of it, but hateful prejudice and lies are something I've learned I have to have the courage to stand up against.

I'm looking at last night/this morning as a spiritual exercise, or at least trying to - the opportunity to forgive, to see that this woman is troubled/uninformed/in pain rather than evil. This has also been an opportunity to exercise my self respect by standing up for what I believe, against prejudice and narrow-mindedness, and finally severing a connection to someone who's presence in my life turned out to be really toxic. I am such a non-confrontational person - for me to speak out like I did was huge and kind of scary. I've learned that you can't always change someone's heart, but you have stand up and do the right thing anyway...All in all a great growth experience, although a very draining one.

I must say though, spiritual growth experiences with nice friends like you are much more pleasant and rewarding!

So sweet dreams - Elissa, Summer and I are heading up to sleep. I am so grateful tonight for my happy home, my beautiful loving family, for Jim and for all the wonderful friends in my life. After this jarring conflict, my heart is at peace tonight and I'm looking forward to a much more restful night than the last one
