By the way, about the expensive camera gear: I worked for 6 months, and spent literally my every penny on what I have right now... it´s not easy.

Oh, I don't doubt it. All of my money is going to rent, utilities, and college (taking a semester off to save up money, actually). My XSi body and kit lens were a Christmas present, so I did get a boost there. I'm about to grab the $90 50mm f/1.8 prime, then I just need a newer telephoto lens.

I definitely know what you mean, though. Really, I'd love go empty my bank account on new camera gear. Bills are more evil than those macaws, though.

Ah, you've got the wrong attitude! You're not a failure at photography; you photos look great, and more artistic than mine ever will. You just haven't been noticed, yet.

The competition sounds good, though. It's rough competing with those experts; it takes a long time to get an eye for a perfect photo, and a lot of patience to get the perfect shot. Unless it's a career (or you've got a ton of free time), it isn't feasible to produce the same work they do.

And I'll get around to inking that image before the week is over. I've just got a few things to do for school and I'll get right on it.

Aw, thanks for the kind words. You know, that really helps my level of motivation… I had actually pretty much given up on it, but I’ll probably try to pick it up again soon…ish… (I’m currently drowning in an evil pool of homework…hah… ) Anyway, regardless of what you say, your photos are much better than mine… so don’t sell yourself short either!

By the way, how’s school going? I hope finals aren't trying to kill you

Finals aren't for another week or two, here. Right now, I just have the regular stuff about which to worry (the homework I didn't know was due this morning, an exam tomorrow, an essay due Thursday...). It's not so bad, really.

But I definitely know what you mean by "drowning in an evil pool of homework." Since I entirely missed that homework assignment, I don't know how to do what's on my exam tomorrow. So now my entire evening is going to be centered on getting everything down. I have to get 100% of the questions right on this exam. Otherwise, I may not even pass the class (just watch, they'll kick me out of school).

I'm taking a break right now (obviously); in several minutes, a friend of a friend should be arriving to receive tutoring on computer science. Yeah, I'm tutoring people in a topic I'm not even studying right now.

Anyway, get back at taking photos. I expect to see your camera at Safari's this weekend!
