# About me
I'm Emily and I've been an artist and writer for over ten years, I own three Akitas, and have my bachelors in chemistry. My art comes from many different places in my mind. Some of it comes from structured stories, unwritten books with characters and plots. There are times I have simply wanted to share my interpretation/view of a story that is well known. Other creations are moments that are more disjointed and surreal, like dreams.# Comments

I love your artwork! Very few people appreciate traditional art nowadays. Everyone I know is going digital. Good job for keeping the tradition alive.

Thank you! Sometimes I look at art and assume it is traditional before realizing that it's the minority of the art that's put out there.

I am not sure about the spelling either. It changes all the time. In-cheon. Inchon. I think it's hard to put one language in the writing of the other. You write English very well, while in Incheon there weren't many who could speak to me. It made me use my bad Korean too much.

hey, thanks for the compliments!
you seem nice and friendly so i'm going to ask you a question about this site. it says i'm subscribed until june 3, so is the only way i can keep my profile to "upgrade" and pay for it? i can't really find any info about it, and thought you might be able to help, it would be appreciated!
ps i like your journal entry here, i can relate!

Yeah, that's how it works.
You can either pay for a subscription, win a contest where the award is a subscription renewel, or someone can choose to buy a subscription for you. That's about how that works.
I'm only nice to people who aren't morons, honestly. Goodluck!!

I think we're going to one of the big name islands. It's suppose to be like a big deal to go there. The Korean chick I'm going with hasn't been there and I forget what the island was called. She's excited mostly about the island.

Thank you for the nice comments. I am spurred on to make more portraits involving good tailoring. Your Kerouac portait is textured and evocative because the colouring works very well.

No worries, there is only some 400 of its brothers and sisters everywhere. Think of it this way, someone in the family got to move up in the world and have their very own room in the overpopulated bunny den.

nice gallery. i havent dropped any comments as of yet, but i know i want to watch you.
you like ghost in the shell & assimov? double
they actually have a new ghost in the shell series out right now + a sequel to the first movie coming this winter. , cant hardly wait!

Keyoyia In reply to vonblue [2004-08-20 19:35:23 +0000 UTC]
Hey there,
I looked at your gallery... it's been awhile since I saw interesting work like your's. I haven't decided if I really like it, just yet.
I have heard about that new ghost in the shell, but I'm skeptical. I liked the first one so much that I'm annoyed with the idea of the sequel shaming its impression. I've also heard word that the man who wrote ghost in the shell was bitterly disappointed in the movie... hummm...
Speaking of movies, I Robot is nothing compared to the book. They have about three things in common.... 1- Character Names 2- Robots 3- Title... if that tells you anything about it.

vonblue In reply to Keyoyia [2004-08-21 03:40:31 +0000 UTC]
lol, you havent decided if you liked it just yet? lol. i find that comment amusing. dunno why...i am worried about a ghost in the shell sequel and i dont hold any high expectations for it. but at the very least it'll be well animated and fun to watch. yeah, i read the book before i saw the movie..
originally the movie was going to be called "Hardwired" or something like that, but then somebody recognized the similiarities to assimovs book. then they went through the legal details of acquiring the crap they needed to do teh movie...blech...that book could never be made into a movie. not one taht would do it justice anyways....

Keyoyia In reply to vonblue [2004-08-21 03:47:49 +0000 UTC]
Yeahhh... that's just about right.
Do you know if the same guys that make akira, ghost in the shell and jin roh are also making the sequel? Those guys don't produce much work but it's always of incredible quality. They have very distinctive music sequences throughout their movies which really tip you off to knowing its their work. It's like knowing a Mel Brooks film when the character says "Walk this way", hobbles, and all hobble after 'em.
I don't think I Robot would ever be a good movie, it doesn't stick to principle characters all the way through and people that watch movies nearly desire a main character to get attached to or they don't care what happens. I just got stated reading Assimov's The Foundation... whoa, talk about orgasmic.

vonblue In reply to Keyoyia [2004-08-21 05:04:27 +0000 UTC]
i've never heard of a book that was "orgasmic" before. but i will file that title under my list of books i have to read. one of my friends is a big anime fan and he told me that they ARE making a sequel to akira. and i believe its the same people too. same with the ghost in the shell movie. i dont think the original creators were involved much with the Shell anime series though. i've only seen the first 5 episodes and it has a different feel than the movie did. of course, this may because, its a tv series and the plots have to be a lot smaller.
yeah, i robot isnt book-to-movie material really. the movie they made(by itself) is decent, it had some nice one-liners by will smith, well-choreographed action scenes( i consider myself a conneisuer of action movies and watching one thats well choreographed and the scenes fit the mood of the movie is a rarity). the movie was decent. got a 7/10 from me.
