I do know how to speak Japanese, only a little. And I'm not really aiming to go to Japan. Japan is JUST a country, like everything else, right? I plan to go to countries like France or Italy. Much more fun sites to see.
This also reminds me of another moment. I was in the bathroom washing my hands. This fourth grader looks at me and asks if I'm Japanese... you know... nobody knows of the country Vietnam unless they have a Viet. friend or neighbor or something. If you just say, "I'm Vietnamese," you know they're gonna go "WTF?"
