Well, hello, again. Going thru your favorites, I found my photo "The End of the Rainbow" and now a comment on my wicked cat. Actually, he is a wuss and quite old and not nearly as vicious as he used to be. He wouldn't make friends with anyone but me. He has mellowed, especially since I got a rooster. He actually is jealous of that chicken. But, they have made a truce. Thanks for the comment!
Tom

That makes sense, age does often have a mellowing effect. Still looks tough though! It's amazing the relationships that animals can have! Yes, I remember that picture. I also looked through your gallery again recently and found some pictures of jewelry - very cool!

Hey!
The weather? haha The usual. freezing ( today was -3 during the day!), lashing rain and stormy. Perfect for Christmas! I love it and I have my fingers crossed for snow
Im guessing that's not the case in California?

Yeah? a friend from South Africa visited two weeks ago and said that they have a warm Christmas also. I dunno if id like the heat, I am NOT a summer/hot weather person (even though 'summer' in Ireland is literally only a week of sun, and that's not even all at once haha!! no joke) I almost died in Egypt
Oh wowzers! I have always wanted to ski or snowboard! your so lucky! I hope you enjoy your time there!
it gets worse overnight, I think it crept up to -6 and the mountains surrounding us were topped with snow! I love filling buckets with water and waiting for them to freeze so I can break the ice

I'd probably have a hard time in Egypt too. But, I just can't stand heat and humidity like in China! OMG Utah was AWESOME!! Snow shoeing was the best, got to explore in the powder, saw bucks, snow rabbit, and tracks from elk, moose and wolves. I'd buy snow shoes, but no snow in SD!

Wowsers! im so glad you enjoyed yourself! that must of been fantastic!
what is China like? iv always wanted to visit the east, more interested in Japan but I do like the idea of China.
I love moose! so adorable!
That's a pity, snow is awesome, when it doesn't get really heavy that is.
so was the trip to Utah your Christmas present?

China is a great place to visit, lots of amazing history. I was amazed by the modern architecture surrounded by people living in poverty. I wanted to visit Japan too, but the choice at the time was China or Australia. I always say snow is better to visit than live in, but it depends who you're asking.
Haha yeah, the trip was pretty much what I got for Christmas! How was your Christmas/New Year? Did you mail out a card for the deviantart holiday card project?

Yeah im always so interested in different cultures but more importantly, the Mythology behind it!!!!
One of my uncles visited China and said that the food is disappointing *shrug* but the sights are something else. he also visited Russia and said that the poverty was also so prominent there.
I once was so fascinated with Japan, again with the history/mythology but mostly the people there. Id love to visit Mount Fuji and take a look at all the Geishas and then Tokyo, with all the Ganguro. I imagine Tokyo to be like Times Square times a million one of my aunts is multilingual and once taught me some of the language
I know what you mean, When I was in Prague it was pretty heavy but since they are used to it things still ran smoothly, if we have snow here everything comes to a stand still as we are not prepared for it.
My Christmas went pretty super. Had all the family and animals up for dinner, the WHOLE family (except the family on my biological fathers side ), a typical big Irish family which was a big feat haha a lot of preparing on xmas eve. Had some good craic I must say, and I never laughed so much all year
Kicked off the new year with a visitor from South Africa and then another from England. they are friends Eva (my mother) made on Facebook on a dachshund group. unfortunately I got quite sick and im still recovering.
My main present for xmas was my new pet rat, Phoebe

Aw, man, sweet. One day, Tokyo, one day. That sounds fun. My family is pretty small, but our Mormon friends have lots of relatives, so they made up for us, and then some. Congrats on the new pet rat, they're loads of fun! (But given the chance, they'll gnaw your blanket to pieces, as did mine!) lol Been working on the ukulele, and now I can get a hula dance tune out of it!

Playing the ukulele is fun! Very portable, you can take it anywhere! I'm having a good time picking out the tune to "while my guitar gently weeps"!

Kitsune 1987, thank you for your kind comments. I have been a collector, mostly from yard sales, auctions and estate sales, It is getting more difficult to find good things anymore mostly because of Antiques Road Show. I feel they have destroyed the market because someone has something that looked like what was on the show, but not even close to the same thing but priced high anyway. Some shots of yours were from the Tucson area. I lived there and in Tubac for a number of years. Loved it but moved to Prescott Arizona where I collected most of the stuff that "I" own, in my gallery. Even had a booth in an antique mall, but did poorly. Worked for an auction house in Prescott only auctioning antiques (didn't even get paid" but really enjoyed that. Did get some good buys there, though. Haven't posted much lately as I am laid up with a very serious spine surgery December 20th. My 5th! So don't get around much for a while. Hoping the surgery will ease the pain and restore some function in my hands and arms. I enjoyed building my model race cars in 2012 but had to quit from fear of the machinery I use to build them with. All from scratch except the wheels. Well, Thanks again! Also remember: "Birth is a terminal illness, so make the best use of it". I think you're headed that way!

I'm very sorry to hear about your spine, any issues with the spine are bound to be serious, and I'm sure excruciating. I hope the surgery is successful. My family had a few art galleries many years ago in San Francisco and Carmel, featuring paintings and bronzes of the American west. That's how my interest in antiques began. In addition to the Road Show, I think eBay and the availability of information on the internet have made the average person more savvy. Regardless, I am fortunate to live in a neighborhood where I can find good things quite regularly. Good luck with your recovery, and making the very most of things!

Hi, I finished it. [link] I really struggled because a hedgehog is very short and round, and the african gazelle is so long and slender. I found those features difficult to bring together into a believable dragon. I like the longer one better. I had a good time working on it though! Enjoy! And thank you for the sketch!
