I am doing alright. Sorry for the late reply, have been busy applying for jobs and such. Sounds fun, Aly and I have not been out for awhile except for once, which that night did not end well so...yea lol I'm focusing more on school now. Getting my AA in Funeral Services Studies. Been writing more since I've been off FB.

Thanks! I'm not much of a study kind of person so school has always been tad bit difficult for me but I'm trying my best. I think the fall semester will be a lot easier for me, mostly due in part of that I am going to try my best to get into a theatre/acting class. I miss being up on stage. How was the Rozz Memorial? & the other events? I wanted to go to Reverence's Siouxsie tribute night but we just don't have the funds. Bryan Hawk still wants me to dj an old school goth night with him but I'm starting to wonder if my collection is going to be too obscure for most. I mean, I am starting to dig into the "minor club hits" forgotten European Post-Punk bands along with some Post-Punk Revival from the past 10 years, the French Coldwave bands that don't even sing in English, Proto-Deathrock & the more Ethereal, Projekt Records-esque type of bands as well. I mean, I'd love to play some of these songs but I just don't know if people would dance to them. Ya know? Ugghhh, music collector problems.

Had to cancel on Near Dark (transportation issues); the Rozz Memorial thingy is this Saturday; and the House of Usher 2014 Reunion is scheduled for October 24th and 25th.

DJing invite from Bryan, huh? It's no secret, I dislike the guy (he has an annoying habit of using others to cover for his practically non-existent interest in Goth music) ... but to each their own.

You want my advice? Stick to the older peeps from SF (and Sac ... same group, really) ... and detach yourself from that mess. And RE: your musical selection? Sounds good. Stick to what moves you, and focus on dancefloor dynamics. Don't cave into audience "demand". Whatever the f***, that is.

No real Goth is unfamiliar with music that you want to play. And the kids need to hear it / gain experience with it; screw the fabricated EBM / EDM crap. It's your job to elevate culture, and help create a better audience.

P.S. I <3 French Goth BTW, esp. Corpus Delicti, False Faces, Violet Sky, and Soror Dolorosa. Tis the best.

His name is pretty well known in Sac
& Plus, I'd love to give those kiddies a run for their money
They want to dance to Industrial
I'll give it to them but it wouldn't be any glowy cyber bullshit
It'll be stuff like SPK, Pressurehed, Consolidated, The EHC, Psychopomps & such

I'd love to stick with them
I tried, but honestly, it didn't just click
They looked at me too much like a kid
And most of their interests outside of the music were not exactly my foretaste

Yea, I've been on a huge Post-Punk/Coldwave/Minimal Wave kick as of late
And the bands are even a little more obscure than Corpus Delicti
Those guys are on most Goth comps I've acquired.
I'm talking stuff like Das Kabinette, Fear Condition, Eleven Pond,Marc Seberg,
The Essence, Near Paris, South of No North, Remembrance & Opera Multi Steel
Stuff I've never heard at a club, found on a Goth comp, can find t-shirts of & are usually out of print
Or were never even released on CD & only vinyl or a tape.

But maybe that is the stuff that needs to get played since apparently
"She's Lost Control," "The Cities in Dust," "Alice," & "Just Like Heaven"
Are all played out & most Elders are sick of them

P.S. Those latter 3 bands I have yet to find so I'll have to look them up
P.P.S. If you're into Post-Punk Revival, Human Tetris & Bell Hollow are AMAZING bands

Careful about Bryan's name, hon. We all make choices about our associations in life ... and the impact we have on things we love.

I'd rather burn than have my reputation associated with his. / You can do fine without his help. Trust me on this.

Your friends in Fresno and Santa Cruz are at least decent people, from what I've gathered. And even if you don't vibe with the OS Sac and SF crowd, we'll never do you as badly as he's capable of.

Goth clubs are for Goths; everyone else just wants to f*** us, or f*** us over.



But I digress. Strike out on your own! Or, better yet, hook up with the crew in Stockton (they're good people). You have the drive. Don't get used.
