Naaah, for me, it's mostly halloween costumes, in the recent years I had to wear 3 crossdressing outfits. 1 by choice, 1 by fun, 1 by obligation.

Some have fun cosplaying, I prefer to enjoy the show personally. I'm close enough to anime/manga/convention scenes that if that gene was really implemented in me, I would've been cosplaying, but it isn't. I don't hate costumes, though. I might go to my next con in full kimono.

True! For me, as long as it's not an obligation, I am happy. This is kind of like at work. I usually dress up with a t-shirt and some jeans, but once in a while, I will put the full "penguin" suit, pants, shirt and tie included. Depends on how I feel.

Same goes for any kind of cosplaying. In Montréal, we got a few Asian-related events, and I might go dressed up like something (or not) at each of them. I might simply decide to go make myself a t-shirt written "I'm not Japanese but let's pretend ok?" or "I don't understand Japanese language, really!" in Japanese, or whatnot. For me, the goal is to enjoy the moment, and if it means cosplaying as Death the Kid, that's what I'll do. If it means going as my usual self (which is what I will usually end up doing, that's what I do).
