LOL, the custom box above the comments... xD So true. But I'm just here to say I love your signature. So many people sell themselves short around here--especially those taking point commissions. They're worth so much more than they seem to think they are. D:

I see it all too often, and I've seen it get increasingly worse since points were introduced. It's depressing to see people think so little of their work.

The worst I've seen was someone offering to do multiple pieces for one point. I mean, c'mon, if five minute caricatures at Canada's Wonderland cost $20 per person, surely hours of work are worth more than pennies.
Part of the problem around dA (besides ignorance) is that we're all artists here. When everyone is competition, the easiest but most inefficient way to get business is to sell ourselves short--which, of course, only spreads the assumption that artists aren't worth paying fairly. I think it would be worth every artist and commissioner's time to invest more effort in learning what they're really worth, and how to advertise themselves both on and off DeviantArt.

I'm here cause I saw your signature in a comment you made on the forums. I'm not sure what category I fit into according to your chart there...
I just wanted to say I TOTALLY agree with your point, I get tired of seeing artists offering commissions for like 30 points. I mean, who wants to spend time making art to earn less than a dollar? Also it cheapens people's view of art, so when an artist offers commissions at a more reasonable price people are all "OMG why do you charge so much?!" It's kind of a pet peeve of mine that people don't believe artists deserve as much money for their time and effort as other professions.
Anyway, yeah... thanks for spreading the word!
