The days of writers are never numbered. If they were why do we keep scripts from thousands of years ago?

I don't think the writer will cease to exist, and their importance will always be there even if it is only to document history in words, however it seems they are becoming a thing of the past as the visual offers more in so many different ways. Most would rather watch a film than read the book, and lots just don't like to or want to read. It is just the way of this new digital word.
