Haha, I was bound to get it eventually. As soon as I saw the title of the video I was like, "Aha, I know who this is."

How've you been?

TankGirlComicFan In reply to LogMeOff [2011-01-26 00:10:02 +0000 UTC]

I thought you'd get it just by looking at my name and age.

I've been feeling "eh" all day. Just spent a grueling night and day at my grandmother's. She was terrorizing my..."aunt" and ruining Inglourious Basterds for me. Buuuuut I applied to another college today, and might get hired at our local newspaper, so it wasn't that bad.

LogMeOff In reply to TankGirlComicFan [2011-01-26 03:43:12 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm glad to here that the day ended up not being so bad. Hope you get into the college too. And the newspaper. That sounds like it would be a good experience.

Yeah, I hope so. Being broke sucks.

Oh, and creepy sidenote: I live in Georgia and your name is Jeorgia. If I were superstitious, I would've tossed salt over my shoulder.

Haha, no. None of our animals talk.

Australian animals scare me.

LogMeOff In reply to TankGirlComicFan [2011-01-27 03:17:14 +0000 UTC]

Me too. Have you been to Australia before?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TankGirlComicFan In reply to LogMeOff [2011-01-27 03:30:11 +0000 UTC]

Nope, but I've read about the wildlife there. The blanket octopus freaks me out. It rips off the tentacles of a Man O War jellyfish, and uses them as weapons. And the spiders. Fucking Australian spiders.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LogMeOff In reply to TankGirlComicFan [2011-01-27 05:26:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, we have some pretty scary animals here. I especially hate the spiders too. Just today I was trying to kill one and I accidentally disrupted a whole nest of them. Not fun. Have you ever considered travelling over here?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TankGirlComicFan In reply to LogMeOff [2011-01-27 13:53:00 +0000 UTC]

Ugh, spiders. I would have freaked out if that had been me. I was afraid to leave my room for hours after my siblings had killed a big brown spider I'm sure was a Daddy Long Legs. Those things will fuck you up.

I thought about it, but I'm not very sure what the tourist attractions are... I'd prolly end up at the beach or something.

LogMeOff In reply to TankGirlComicFan [2011-01-27 21:29:32 +0000 UTC]

I can't imagine myself fairing much better. I'm not afraid of them, I just don't like them.

Let me be your guide. There are millions of amazing places to visit while in Australia. The easiest thing to do is to not think of yourself as a tourist, pretend that you've been here before. I love going to Sydney because there are plenty of cool things down there to do, even if you're a tourist.

TankGirlComicFan In reply to LogMeOff [2011-01-28 15:30:26 +0000 UTC]

What would you recommend, then?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LogMeOff In reply to TankGirlComicFan [2011-01-28 21:04:35 +0000 UTC]

Definitely Sydney, because apparently it's the Gay Capital of Australia. If you were here at the end of February you could attend the Gay/Lesbian Mardi Gras, which runs through to the end of March. Newtown/Enmore are pretty cool places to go to as well. Newtown, from what I've seen, is basically a long street with all kinds of pokey little restaurants and specialty stores. At night it's a bit different. There's a couple of clubs in the area, but I think most of them are in Enmore, which is at the other end of the street. Other attractions I would definitely recommend would be the Powerhouse Museum, it's sort of a science/history museum, but it has some pretty interesting shows each month. The two art galleries, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the NSW Gallery, are definitely places you should also go. They have rotational shows every few months as well.

I'm sure there's loads more to do but that's all that comes to mind right now.

TankGirlComicFan In reply to LogMeOff [2011-01-30 01:12:43 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like a hoot - I looked up Newtown; it looks interesting. And I forgot about museums. I've always wanted to go to one, but eh...

Are you going to the Mardi Gras? Is it what an American would assume a Mardi Gras is, or since it's a LGBT event, more like a parade? Do people degrade themselves for a strand of Mardi Gras beads?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

LogMeOff In reply to TankGirlComicFan [2011-01-30 05:36:22 +0000 UTC]

Haha, Newtown is pretty good. I'd love to get down there again.

Not this year. I would've just started Uni, so it'll be pretty hard to get away. If I'm lucky I might make it though. I think so, it's like a parade to begin with and then everyone just gets drunk. I think there's art/theatre exhibitions as well, but it's mostly just about getting pissed. I'm not sure about the beads thing.

TankGirlComicFan In reply to LogMeOff [2011-01-31 16:35:10 +0000 UTC]

I'd hate to miss an opportunity like that. Where I live, if you want to go to a big LGBT event, you have to go to Atlanta or Tallahassee. Yeah, I googled "Australian Mardi Gras." Looks fun. But alcohol? I'm not a fan. D; About the beads - apparently, if you go to the French Quarter of New Orleans, women will expose themselves for beads.

LogMeOff In reply to TankGirlComicFan [2011-01-31 20:59:49 +0000 UTC]

I know, I've hated missing it for the last couple of years - stupid school. I completely understand. Sydney is only three hours away for me, but I have to catch the train and I live in a small town, so the trains we do have are at really inappropriate times.
Not a fan of the alcohol either, the people may look hotter, but I'll look awful if I start spewing everywhere.
Oh, ok. I think I remember hearing about that. Haha, it's kind of funny in a bad way.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TankGirlComicFan In reply to LogMeOff [2011-02-01 00:28:27 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see. I don't know how to drive, so I still rely on others for transportation. Kinda limits where I can and can't go.
Alcohol is deceiving. You think you're going home with a 10, but wake up next to 4 with missing teeth and 8 chins.

LogMeOff In reply to TankGirlComicFan [2011-02-01 04:06:16 +0000 UTC]

It is very limiting.
Haha, I hope that never happens to me. That'd be really embarrassing.
