# About me

((Credit for the pic goes to for making it for me! ))

RPer :

This account belongs to

Character's Full Name: The Lord/Lady Death (I'll also be RPing his assistant, June, but she won't take over the account by any means. Information about her may be posted in a later journal or deviation, but I haven't decided.)

Universe: Black Butler

Character's Birthday: When life began, Death did, too. One cannot exist without the other.

Species: Shinigami/Reaper (Hush yo face, Smai XD)

Race/Ethnicity/Breed: Refer to answer above.

Hair/Fur: Gray

Eyes: Usually emerald, though they can be red at times. ((Christmasty Death is Christmasy

Height: Male - 6'4 Female- 5'9

Weight: Approximately 168 pounds

General Description: Death, of course, is Death. He/she can strip someone of their life, but would never do so for entertainment. And Death doesn't observe every Death, just the ones who are increasingly difficult to get to come through the darkness and into the light. That's when June does her job as a guide for wandering/lost souls, and takes them to the realm of the Lord/Lady. And he/she isn't cruel, quite sincere, as a matter of fact. Also, Death hates, and I mean hates to be compared or called the Devil, because they aren't one and the same.

Powers/Abilities: Death can do pretty much anything, besides bring things to life or back to life. Once they're gone, they're gone. Although he/she never uses it, Death has excellent combat skills, and his/her array of weapons is astonishing. But his/her reapers (Grell Sutcliff, William T. Spears, The Undertaker, etc.) do.

Current Residence: Travels all over the world, but generally stays in the European area.

Personality: He/she is very dominant, as well as calm. Death doesn't take orders. Not that they're given to him/her very often, because you know, why would you provoke Death? Anywho, he/she can also be very cocky, and a huge smartass. He/she has a bad temper, but after getting to actually know Death, he/she isn't terrible.

Empress-Lucifer [2015-11-28 05:48:40 +0000 UTC]

// *DROPS THIS HERE CUZ LUCI'S A FUCKING TROLL*

It has been said before that evil only messes with others for its own entertainment. Lucifer, who was painted as the embodiment of all things wrong with the world, could clarify this. They were certainly a mischief maker, and for what purpose? "It's fun."

Which is why the Emperor decided he would stop by and grant his biggest rival - and probably enemy - a visit. Septimum leaned beside the wall, watching as the demon, dressed in a leather jacket and jeans, definitely not as proper as expected, rummaged through the library the Lord had.

"He must clearly not get out often, with all of these damned books." The demon monarch stated, humming slightly and sitting down. He was holding a book that documented most mythical creatures and beings, laughing suddenly as he turned a page. "Oh, Septimum! Look at this!" An amused grin was on Lucifer's face as he turned the book around, showing an old biblical illustration of The Devil coercing Eve to eat the apple from the forbidden tree.

"Clearly that's not a flattering image, Master." The Envy demon stated, not really impressed with the current situation. Dark head bobbing around in thought, his gaze then met the Emperor's. "Why are we even wasting our time here? Bloody grim reapers, they hate our kind. They aren't worth even the slightest moment, Emperor."

Lucifer raised a finger, crossing his legs to show that he wasn't standing up anytime soon. "I just like to fuck with Death, really." He admitted. "He already holds a distaste for my very existence, so why must I try to act like I even want to get on his good side? He's fun to fuck with; you have no idea how much it makes me smile to see that he hates every fiber of my being."

Lady-Life-RP [2015-02-14 01:32:47 +0000 UTC]

"Hello?" The young lady walked around the outside of Death's manor, in quite an unusual form. The normal Lady was replaced by a young Lord, dressed very properly. He wore a dark grey suit, a pale green dress shirt, and a much darker green tie to complete the ensemble. He had a bouquet of dark red roses in his hands, knocking timidly on the door. He expected June's arrival, knowing the maid was always there to open the door when needed. Really, the master of the house should just give Life permission to enter- but then again, that would be overstepping his place as Death's other half. Even if they were created in perfect harmony, they had their own right to privacy. So Lord Life stood outside Death's manor, roses in his hand, nerves on edge, and just hoped June wasn't in a shitty mood.

Lord-Death-RP In reply to Lady-Life-RP [2015-04-19 05:04:14 +0000 UTC]

June had been attempting to bake when the knocking began. Cookies of various types, between sugar and snickerdoodle, were scattered about a large grey pan, some a bit darker in comparison to others, for a lack of better word. Grumbling with dramatized despair, the maid wiped her long fingers on the apron at her waist and hurried to the door, surprising herself with the skip in her step. She'd normally be sulking right now, but for reasons she couldn't fathom, June was in an abnormally good mood. It probably explained the Lord's lack of presence today, June being in a good mood was never caused by anything that was necessarily celebration worthy, in his eyes.

Shaking the thought, June snaked her hand around the exotically decorated door handle and pushed down, pulling the door open with a yank. Her stomach fell into a pit, Life's coming was expected but not this soon... Though she hadn't been smiling, her seemingly brightened expression had noticeably faded, and the maid crossed her arms as she leaned against the manor's large doorway.

"Roses," she said matter-of-factly, the minute they caught her attention. Her eyes fell back onto the kami. "You shouldn't have." June's voice was dull and rudely sarcastic, more of a habit of hers than it was an attack directed at Life. All the same, it was an attitude Death hadn't approved of, and an area in urgent need of attention.

It was sudden when the maid took notice of Life's slight change in appearance, purple eyes slightly widening in curiosity. "What brought on the idea of testicles, today, my Lord? Evening plans with Lord Death?" The question was haughty and unnecessary, but with Lord Death on the upper floor, there wasn't as much of a chance of June earning herself punishment. The thoughts of what she could say and do brought a coy smile to her lips, the maid internally praised herself for such a witty comment in impulse. Even still, it was a special occasion, and with very uncharacteristic guilt ever so slightly gnawing at her insides, the maid sighed and threw Lord Life an apologetic gaze that disappeared as quickly as it surfaced.

"Never mind that," she began, straightening from her position against the doorframe. Turning her back to the Lord, June stepped back inside and in the direction of the kitchen to resume her work, quiet curses spilling from her lips as she grabbed a batch of black cookies and set them clumsily onto the stove. A frown sulked her youthful features before she sighed, removing the oven mitt and scratching the back of her head with dismay. "Disregard what I said."

The words that left June were ones of exasperation, defeat clear in their presentation. She and everyone that knew of her existence was aware of her acute inability to find success in her tampering of the culinary arts, so she wasn't really sure why this left her feeling so disappointed. She grew abnormally quiet in thought, and after a few moments of silence, turned toward Life, her eyes narrowed. She said nothing as she looked the kami over from head to toe through the gray hair hanging in her face, and a small 'hmm,' left her.

Certain of the Kami's curiosity, June blurted out before she gave the Lord a chance to speak, "I've grown to appreciate your existence, you know." A sentence she herself would never have predicted to leave her mouth. The maid kept her eyes glued to the cookie dough as she thoughtlessly kneaded it in her hands. "I don't exactly like you, but you're... good for the Lord. You make him happy." Shooting the cookies a small, sad smile, the maid sighed. "Happier than I ever could, anyway."

Oh god, that would follow her for decades to come. It hadn't been a lie, though. June could never deny the jealousy that bubbled up in her when Life would be around the Lord Death and he would smile. Life's attempts to make him laugh seemed effortless, and the maid herself could barely ever get a grunt of approval from him. While she didn't feel the same affection toward Death that Life did, it still pained her every single one of her attempts to make him happy only proved to be futile. She only wanted to repay everything he'd done for her, and the fact that she couldn't dropped a weight in her stomach that churned with guilt and envy.

That of course, didn't mean she was going soft. Shaking her head, June turned back to Life, her usual scowl having returned to her face. "Though I don't know how you do it with such a putrid color of green. What is that, a pastel? Whatever it is, it's rather gag-worthy. I almost want to lose my lunch just looking at it."

((Almost fell asleep like 4,000 times typing this? Eeugh

Lady-Life-RP In reply to Lord-Death-RP [2015-04-19 05:20:49 +0000 UTC]

Inwardly groaning at the sight of the woman, Lord Life kept his smile on his face. What do the humans say, kill them with kindness? He thought to himself, then chuckled at her question. "Ah, just felt like it... Any particular reason you have yours?" Insulting femininity wasn't as good as insulting masculinity- ah, the fragile male ego- but it was effective enough. His eyes widened at her brushing off of her own insult, but nodded his head softly, accepting the change easily. Without asking, he followed her, closing the door behind him. He frowned at the smell of burnt food, then chuckled. "And you my words, please." He knew how tiring arguing with June was, and this was a nice change of pace. At the sight of the blackened cookies, he sighed softly, smiling again, and shaking his head.

Her words wiped that smile away, shock widening his purple eyes. He put the roses down- far from the burnt food- and gave a low bow, speaking softly. "Thank you, June. That means alot to me. It really does..." Her next words made him grin, laughing lightly. "Well... I pretty much only own pastels. More fitting of my female form, I know..." He chuckled, running a hand nervously through his red hair. His dark cocoa cheeks turned a bit red, and a sheepish smile showed on his face. "Maybe you know what color would be better? I'd love a second opinion... I probably look like a bloody Christmas tree... Shit..." He ran his fingers over the green tie, then through his hair again.

His eyes kept drifting to the burnt cookies, then he sighed. "I can't. I need to help you with this." He took off his gloves- something he usually only wore in his male form- and stuffed them in his back pocket. He then rolled up his sleeves, a bit past his elbow, and looked at June. "What type of cookies are you making? Or- no offence- trying to make? I'll help you out. I don't have a set time to go out with Death, so I'm sure he won't mind me helping you cook a bit." His smile was almost childlike, open and friendly. Even though he often argued with June- occasionally even physically fighting with her-, he still wanted to gain the woman's favor.

Pursing her lips, June promptly hooked a finger into the waist of her skirt, looked down, and returned her gaze to the Lord Life in just a few moments. Expression totally indifferent, June gave the Lord a look of mock concern. "Forgive me, my Lord, but how exactly is your quality of vision? I, as you can see, happen to be a female. And the norm seems to be that those that bear the title of 'female,' aren't graced sacs filled with the vermin that become teeny, tiny humans." June shuddered in discomfort, she'd never taken a liking to babies. Humans themselves were adorable when scared out of their wits, but babies? Without its nearing death or chance of involuntary solitude, - though, what kind of baby in its right mind would choose to be isolated? - not a chance. "Such creepy, nasty little creatures..."

A quite 'hmph' of compliance left the maid, and for what was probably the first time ever, June and Life were actually at what, under their circumstances, would call peace. With a single look at the charred cookies, June sulked, a quiet, defeated sound huffing from between her lips. "I don't understand how anyone can do this..."

The bow surprised June more than she anticipated. It wasn't an act often practiced or directed at the maid. She did it quite often herself, and sometimes, others did when they were being introduced. A bow out of respect was a whole new experience for her. She almost didn't know what to do, but made do with a simple nod in Life's direction that, for once, wasn't accompanied with a scowl or middle finger. In attempt to drop what June would call fluff, she huffed in agreement. "Yes, they're more fitting of your female form. They give you a build more feminine than my own." For the time being, June just trusted Life not to make any snarky comments.

"I gag at the thought of pastels. Could you ever imagine me in colors so... bright? So vibrant? Ugh, good god, I feel queasy just from the imagery..."

Eyes widening, June turned abruptly in Life's direction and raised an eyebrow, hand on her hip in sincere curiosity. "Are you asking me for fashion advice?" Chuckling in slight disbelief, June gave the Lord a shrug. "Well, I don't know... Green is one of the Lord's favorite colors, he also likes red and blue." A sigh. "But in the terms of the likes of you, he's never complained before. Your appearance is nothing you need to worry about with him."

Following his eyes to the burnt cookies time and time again, June grew frustrated and snatched the pan away, sliding the charcoal cookies into the trash. "I'm well aware baking ins't my strong suit, thank you!" She went to storm off to the other side of the kitchen, each agitated step leaving her hair to bounce. That was when she heard it. An offer. An offer to help. From Lord Life. She blinked.

"Are you playing a trick on me?" the maid asked, genuinely surprised the Lord Life would even stay in the same room with her for this long, let alone allow for her to open an opportunity to learn a few of his more... advanced skills in cooking. "...Snickerdoodle. They're Snickerdoodle." Attempting to be nice in return, June tried to smile back at Life, though it painfully failed when her smile turned into nothing less of a creepy grin, so the maid just made do with a slight smirk and continuous nodding. Maybe liking Life wouldn't be so difficult after all.

Life forced himself not to respond, mentally making many responses to save for a later date. One of those responses was But aren't females supposed to have breasts? You seem to be lacking in that area..., but he knew that would only start more of a fight. "Some children are chaotic, I'll admit that... Many are good, though. I respect your opinion, though..."

At her surprise, and her new words, he blushed further, sighing and running a hand through his hair- making it look sloppy, which wasn't a bad look on him. "I need to stop wearing pastels..." His voice was soft, sighing again as he manipulated the organic dye in his clothing, changing the color slowly. The bright lime-green turned to a soft blue, the light color contrasting nicely with his skin, but not too bright anymore. The tie stayed near it's color, only darkening slightly. The suit he wore did the same, the neutral grey turning dark. He took off the jacket, and his tie, and hung them over a nearby chair- out of danger of being messed up. He looked down at himself, then changed the color again. The shirt then turned a darker blue, then took a purple tint. It was a color that made his eyes look even darker, which was very good for making him look more mature. "Okay... I like this. What do you think?"

"Playing a trick on you? Why would I want to do that? Despite what you may think, I don't actually dislike you. Sure, I dislike how you act towards me, but I've come to tolerate it." At her words, he nodded, walking more into the kitchen and looking around. "Okay, we're going to need clean pans..." He paused, eyes flickering around a bit as he searched his memory for a good recipe. "Cinnamon, sugar, shortening, butter, flour, eggs... Salt, and baking soda. Yeah. That should be it." He smiled at the maid, then blushed a bit. "I don't actually know where anything is in this kitchen... Maybe you could teach me where things are while I teach you to make cookies?"

Lady-Life-RP [2014-07-17 04:20:39 +0000 UTC]

((Starter number 5 or so, here we go!))

Life was in a bit of a trouble, if you will. With a dark violet cloak covering every inch of the Kami's body, the spirit went to Death's manor, nervousness and mild shame coming from the bond between them. Life may love the humans made from pieces of the kami's spirit, but other times, they were nothing but nuisances. Especially the self righteous ones. And the ones who made others feel lesser for something uncontrollable, like gender or age. Oh, how Life hated those people. So because of these annoying humans, the essence of humanity, Life itself, had to don a cloak to cover their body, pouting and cursing as they did so. As Life knocked on Death's door, words of retaliation to June already formed. That maid could be so rude to guests... Life could only hope that Death was able to sense the Kami's unease through their bond and answer the door instead of the maid.

June, skipping over to the door, opened it with an uncharacteristic, sweet smile on her lips. It grew small as she saw the unfamiliar face, and she tilted her head in attempt to get a good look at the unknown guest. "May I help you?" she asked with suspicion, and moved her hair out of her eyes as she tried to peek under the Kami's hood. "If you're here to see The Lady, she's a bit busy at the moment, but if you'd like to come back another time, I could make an appointment for you..." She became uneasy as she was overwhelmed with the familiar aura, and pressed her tongue along the top row of her teeth as she stood, pondering. "I apologize, but I'm not allowed to let people in that I don't know..." she sheepishly apologized like a child, averting her gaze to the cool darkness of the realm's floor.

"June, it's me. Life." The Kami's voice sounded strange, as if it was forcefully high pitched. "It's nice that you do know how to be kind and respectful, but I really need to see Death." The cloaked figure looked down, hiding all but the red blush on tan cheeks. "P-Please don't ask why, just get Death... And you said the Lady? Death's in that form today? All the better, I guess." There was a nervousness in the being's voice that was strange, almost unnatural to hear. Knowing the maid would now fight, a sigh came from the Kami. "You know me. Just let me in." With a body covered in her dark cloak, it was hard to tell that it was certainly Life, but the purple eyes that seemed to shine in the shade of the hood showed that it was most definitely Death's other half. However, in that shade, the maid was able to see features that were slightly too... masculine for the Lady Life.

Her eyebrows creased at the Kami's remark and she fidgeted, an embarrassed flush rising to pale cheeks. "No need to be rude," she mumbled, and backed away from Life as she began to slide the door closed. "You look nothing like the Lady Life. She's shorter, much shorter, and her voice doesn't sound like that. My Lady doesn't take very kindly to impersonators, which you would know if you were Lady life, so you need to leave..." Though her voice was quiet, it was firm, and half of her body was hidden behind the closing door. "No," she countered. "No, I don't, and you shouldn't be here. The Lady is distressed at the moment, you need to go." Something about this being did seem familiar to the servant, and she was almost reluctant to close the door, though rules were rules, and they were made to be followed. "I'm no fool," she began, words a bit more confident than before. "I've approached Lady Life many times. She's often a young, cute little girl with a sort of skip in her step, always happy. She's never like this, and you're a bit too feminine to be taken as herself." She paused with a respectful nod, and behind a closed door, said, "Good day."

((I don't know why I feel like making her be nice to Life. Eh. Maybe I'm just going soft. *shrugs then snickers because she made a dick joke*))

As the door shut, a foot was placed in the way, forcing it to stay open. A sigh left the cloaked figure's lips, and the hood was pulled back. "Damn it, June. I got myself stuck in a male form and I need Death's help." The strange highness of the voice left as the door was forced open a bit. In the doorway was a male, slightly taller than Lady Life, though the eyes were the exact same. As was the skin tone, the freckles and the hair colors. The hair was so short, though, it barely covered the nape of his neck. "I was hoping to be able to hide it from you because you're probably gonna laugh at me, but seriously here..." He sighed, running a gloved hand over his face. The cloak was moved out of the way, revealing an outfit that most definitely screamed 'it's Life', albeit very modern. A pair of light jade jeans that hugged her legs tightly, a dark blue tee shirt with some abstract modern graphic on it. "I don't really own male clothing, and I wasn't coming here in a damn dress, that's for sure." Pale violet sneakers finished the ensemble, causing him to have a bright and out of place look, exactly as the Lady Life always did. With a mild glare set in his eyes, the male was a bit taller than June, and stronger than the Lady usually was, meaning he could hold the door open. "Death's seen my male form before. Go get him. I give you my word I will not enter the manor without you or his permission."

The servant haughtily scoffed, irritation obvious in her feminine voice. "That lie sounded rehearsed," she remarked, pushing away her seemingly fixed attitude. Just who did this so called 'male Life' think he was? What did he take her as? A fool? "Probably just a soul, trying to trick his way out of the afterlife." She spoke to accusation to herself, but simply couldn't ignore the vague familiarity that rung through this boy's features. She couldn't deny a similarity in eye color and apparel, but anyone, living or not, could find clothing such as that, and he simply may have had contacts. "Yeah, right," she thought to herself. Huh. This girl actually DID have logical thought process. Who'd have known? Eyes, a mix of purple and magenta, darted to the boy's wrist beneath a gloved hand. The glove looked like one of her's, too. Though, despite its irrelevance to the situation, and forgetting the search of the scars The Lord/Lady so passionately hated, the maid simple crossed her arms, stating, "Life has always ben shorter than me." She looked up at the Kami with annoyance. She hated feeling small. "As I said. Lady Death," she said simply, though put stress on the word 'Lady," flaunting his mistake at him. How mature. "Is currently very busy, and distressed." She gave Life's shoulder a gentle push, far kinder than what the Kami had to have been used to, and forced his foot out of the way of the door. "So, before I lose my temper, I suggest you take your leave." The maid was calm as she spoke, though the warning in her voice was well emphasized. She stood, arms still crossed, and waited for the Kami to depart, hip propped up against the large doorframe.

"Now you're being ridiculous." The male looked down at June, eyes narrowing and turning emerald. "Get out of my way. Before I have no choice but to make you." Seeing that the maid wouldn't move, an angry growl came from the kami. Then he pulled his right hand, showing the dark scars. That bare hand then grabbed the maid's wrist, Life's control over beings flooding over the girl. "Get out of my way." He repeated the words, almost charming despite the growling tone. Then, after the woman was compelled enough, he simply pushed his out of the way. He entered, the maid still being stunned by the energy Life used. "Death? Deaaaaath! Unlike your maid, I know you recognize me! Is somethin' wrong?" Mild concern filled his voice, mind going towards the bond that always connected the two. "Deaaaaath." His voice echoed a little as he walked through the manor, the control on June's mind leaving slowly.

"I'm being nothing but logical," she countered, expression unchanged. "I'm only following the rules." The maid snorted at the threatening turn in Life's tone - downright snorted - and took a step forward, arms ahead of her to push the Kami aside. It surprised her that the boy would so boldly grab her wrist, but she nonetheless continued, until a teeny, tiny voice in her mind, growing with each passing second, told her to stop. For reasons she couldn't fathom, she obeyed, despite the arguing, shrinking voice that opposed the other. She stood still, dazed by the siren like voice, and did nothing to stop the figure pushing past her shoulders. That would certainly piss her off when she broke out of the trance, if the time ever came. Death raised her head from between her hands and looked about the room with confused, emerald eyes. That voice, the one that rang through the manor. It certainly didn't belong to June, it was far too masculine as it called out her name. There was something about it, though, the way it was drawled, that seemed all too familiar, and with reluctance, she pushed herself out of her seat and descended her manor's staircase. A bustle dress, red as the paint on the manor walls fell behind her, and tall black leather boots hid legs that, uncovered, would be considered ungodly sinful. Gray hair was loosely yet formally tied into a high bun behind her head, and bangs of the same shade framed her pale, worried face. "Life?" she whispered, head tilted at the taller boy. With a quickened pace, she marched down wooden stairs and gawked at Life with a raised eyebrow. "What are you doing here? And why are you," she paused to gesture to the Kami. "Male?" The still figure behind them, her servant, caught her eye, as her long fingers twitched. What the hell had she gotten herself into? "And what did you do to June?" Her voice dropped with curiosity before gentle, gloved hands reached up to cup Life's cheek, eyebrows knitted together with concern.

"Death!" The male walked over, hugging the woman quickly, giving her a brilliant smile. "I'm kind of... Stuck. As a male... I tried changing back and can't... And she wouldn't let me in so I compelled her. She'll snap out of it in a moment." He seemed to realize he was babbling, giving a shy smile as he cocked his head to the side, eyes scrunching a bit in his unstoppable glee. He still had the cloak across his back, like a cape. "Enough about that, though." He quickly put his glove back on, cupping Death's face gently in his palm. "Are you alright? You don't look very well..." His other hand raised to gently stroke her hair, mimicking the action that Lord Death did to Lady Life, a soft, concerned smile on his lips the whole time. The concern in his violet eyes was so loving as he gazed down at the Lady, looking at her with nothing but care and worry.

She returned the hug with pleasure, though felt a bit... odd about it. In her male form, the shinigami had always been taller than her significant other. The situation reversed, it made her a bit... uneasy. It was something, though, she decided, that she would simply have to bear with. "Life." Her voice dropped and she furrowed an eyebrow, hands resting lightly on the man's shoulders. "How did you become stuck as a male? You change at will, it's not something that can simply malfunction." As if to prove her point, Death became male for a few short seconds - wow, what a sight it must of have been, the highest shinigami in power, crossdressing -  before resuming her female appearance, curves refilling positions in her attire that otherwise would have pinched poor male Death in all the wrong places. The woman looked to June, who was trembling, and then back to Life, distress written distinctly in her features. "She most likely didn't recognize you, in her defense." She looked to the Kami. "You know how mad she's going to be when she she breaks free of your compulsion." Death spoke more to herself, though, then she did to Life, a sigh rolling from between her lips. She smiled, though, at the way her counterpart tilted his head. She loved it when he did that, and his scruffy, brown hair tumbled from sitting at the top of his head, like a crown, to the side, revealing tan skin underneath. Death's female form, though colder, was much more physically affectionate with her partner for reasons she couldn't piece into place. A gloved hand gently wrapped around Life's wrist - scarred wrist, Death unintentionally noted - lovingly, elegant fingers squeezing through thin fabric. "I'm fine," she waved off his concern, per the usual. "Really?" she joked, and looked over her dress with a sly grin. "I was hoping you'd like it, it was tailored by a famous man, known for accessing the most exquisite of cloth." Her smile faded. "He's an idiot, though. His soul has always been greedy, and leaves me feeling ill with every time it passes. Which, by the way, is more often than necessary. Apparently, said soul doesn't do well with gaining trust."

"I don't knooooooow." His voice was a whine, looking down at his other as a small pout came onto his lips. "It's weird and I'm confused but it's stuck." He looked over his shoulder at June, giving a soft sigh. With a soft movement from his hand, the maid was entirely released, the tall male quickly moving so that Death was between them. He looked down at his lady, a small nervous chuckle coming from him. "You wouldn't let her hurt me though... Right?" Even in this form the kami needed reassurance of affection. Short red hair fell around his head, making him look like a puppy with his small pout. At her calming of his concern, he looked into her eyes, looking for any form of lie. "As long as you're sure." A quick peck on the cheek ended his sentence, a grin covering his lips. "I'll never get enough of that. Even in this form it's wonderful." The childlike glee in his voice was just as adorable as Life always was. When the lady's smile faded, his did too, slightly. "If such a soul makes you ill, then I will refuse it coming back. Anything for the comfort of my lady." In classic Life way, he made a jokingly grand gesture of it, going as far as to bow a bit, taking his other's hand and placing a gentle kiss on her knuckles. When he stood back up, a soft laugh was his final sound, just smiling down at her, making sure he wasn't making a total fool out of himself.

Death sighed again, though this time, it was more out of love than disappointment, and was followed with a smile. She giggled. Giggled. The thought if it made Death uneasy. She didn't giggle. Her attention was snapped back with the angry snarl that left June, clearly aimed at the cloaked man who was in front - well, now behind her, his nerves clear from where he stood. "You, sneaky, deceptive, piece-"
"June," Death cooed, and made a gesture with her hand as the other reached to firmly grab her wrist. By the way the girl reacted, the gesture seemed to have calmed her down, though she still gave the Kami a dangerous glare. She could've to pounced on him, that Life. What right did he have? First, he completely sassed her, (despite her many times doing the same without a reason, something she ignored.) Second, he used compulsion on her, and thirdly, he entered the manor while she as hazed, and stood defenseless. He didn't have the right. Looking over to the right, though, in the direction of her Lady, June straightened, snatched her wrist back, and walked past the pair, offering Life a growl and rough bump to the shoulder. She walked calmly out of the room and left Life and Death alone, as much as that sickened her to her very core. The Lady turned from where she saw her servant take her leave and gave Life's cheek a reassuring pat, smile faint on her lips. "Of course not." She subconsciously played with the Kami's bangs, flicking it to and fro with her long, cared for index finger. The second she glanced up, though, she casually broke the gaze and shrugged, grey bangs hugging her pale face. "It's just obvious to me when you're in trouble, that's all. It always leaves my head hanging, but I'll survive. I am Death, after all." She smiled, though something seemed uneven about it, before emerald eyes darted to lively lips - to check for bruising. She chuckled lightly - good lord, could he be charming at times. That was, though, when he was wearing clothes more... suited, for a lack of better word, for someone of the male gender. One gloved hand tugged at another and she led the lively man up her stairs, grinning. "What a gentleman," she bantered, and contemplated a curtsey to compliment her remark. She decided against it. As little as Life became male, when he did, he always made point to kiss her knuckles. It never failed to bring a curve to her lips, hands tingling from where she wished could be real contact. "We'll see to getting you better garments," she teased, covering her mouth as she glanced back to look over his outfit. He'd never looked so... feminine. Definitely something Lady Death would get a kick out of when teasing the poor Kami, often as she did.

He gave his lady a grin, a blush coming over his face at her giggle. He'd never heard such a sound, and he was even more in love after hearing it. When June started growling at him, he put his hands infront of himself defensively. "Now, there is no need for that. I apologize for having to compel you, but you wouldn't allow me to see Death." His voice was reasonable, albeit defensive. It wasn't compulsion in his voice now, but it was a calming hint of energy, his mild panic causing the power to be used unthinkingly. He didn't even make a rude gesture as June shoved past him, unlike normal. He calmed down again at Death's words, a soft chuckle leaving him when she started playing with his hair, even going as far as to tilt his head forward slightly for her. "Obvious when I'm... I worried you?" His eyes lit up with mild sadness, and concern once more. "I'm very sorry for that, my love." He hardly registered that he used the pet name to her. "If it'd help you, would you like me to quiet my mind until I fix this..." He looked down at his body, frowning a bit. The moment he heard her comment about his outfit, his cheeks turned dark red and he gave a slight glare, annoyance in it instead of anger. Quickly he covered himself with the dark cloak, his head hung in shame. "I don't know how my dear humans consider this male clothing... I could have come in a dress!" His words were a joke threat as he sped up to follow his lady, taking her hand gently in his as he walked close to her. "Of course, I'm certain you'd mock me even more if I did that..." His eyes stayed pointed at the floor as the bright red color spread from his cheeks to his face. It made his dark freckles stand out even more, like paint dotted around his face. "Even though you mock me so, I find myself terribly smitten by you, my sweet lady." He looked up, giving her a loving smile. Even if Death didn't show affection nearly as much as Life, he knew that his other loved him back. If she didn't, why in the world would she put up with him?!

The instant the giggle left her mouth, emerald eyes flew to Life's purple ones, mouth slightly dropped in self surprise. An uncharacteristic blush grew across the Lady's cheeks and her gaze fell to the floor. How often was it that Death embarrassed herself? Very little, she proudly took note of, so this almost made her want to disappear into the floor with shame. Turning, she gave Life the same gesture she had given the grey-haired servant, eyes, usually cold, soft with worry. "She's okay..." The Lady whispered, and looked to her servant as she stormed off. Of course the unnecessary bump to the shoulder was expected, but who could be mad at her for that? Her reaction was much calmer than usual, very merciful as angered breathing slowed into irritated. June practically ignored the Kami's apologies, and instead gave him a hard stare before taking her leave. The Lady smiled a bit at the remark June took care not to make. When need be, the servant girl could be caring. With a shake of her head, The Lady Death waved off his concern - again - and tenderly, she cupped the Kami's cheek. "No, no, I'm used to it," the shinigami said, a sigh rolling from between her lips. "There's no need for that. Please." She gave him a smile, though, it wasn't as... solid as usual. Of course seeing Life could always brighten the Lady's day. It wasn't that she was unhappy to see him, but she preferred he never saw her, form aside, in this state. It was a side of her that only June had ever seen, but her witnessing had been inevitable, seeing as they shared a home. Life was different. She always took extra caution with the Kami, as much as it irritated him, both male and female form, to his wit's end. She was lucky, how the previous time this feeling overwhelmed her how busy the man had been, and completely shut off any connection they'd had, as empty as it left her feeling. This time, however, she wasn't as lucky. The Lady, distracted from her thoughts, chuckled again at her other's state, biting her lip to prevent any further mocking of him. "How cruel of me," the shinigami thought to herself, but pushed the thought aside when Life began to speak again. "That would've been quite the site." She paused to take note of his glare. How cute. "June would've given you hell to no end," she said as they came to the top of the stairs, and led the Kami down a skillfully decorated hallway. Portraits and vases hung on her walls, expertly crafted tables off to the side. Everything was of dark color. A preference of the Lady, of course, since she could hardly stand bright colors unless they were associated with her beloved. Who, by the way, had freckles that could make her swoon. Not that she would ever admit it. Taking a sharp turn down another hallway, she glanced over her shoulder at Life with a coy grin. "And I you, beloved" she cooed. She hardly used pet names on the Kami, though this one didn't bring a sour taste to her lips and decided it would become a larger part of her vocabulary. Dark heels resonated off the manor walls as they clicked in time with her footsteps, though they ceased when the Lady stopped in front of a door. "Pardon my dark clothing," she began, pushing her way through its wooden frame. "I don't necessarily have clothing of your preference," she shamelessly confessed. She returned the smile, but cursed herself immediately afterwards. She was certain Life could tell that it was forced, and she cleared her throat, continuing to open her large wardrobe.

He couldn't help grinning even more at her blush, going as far as to steal a quick peck of the lips onto her reddened cheek. "You are so... exquisite..." His voice was quiet, a lovestuck tone in it. The love arrow had shot him right through the heart, Lord Life trying to be far more romantic than Lady Life was. He looked after June slightly, frowning a little. "I doubt she will ever like my presence..." He was quiet as Death teased him once again, sticking his tongue out at his love. "So cold of you, teasing me so ruthlessly." At the pet name, the mock glare vanished entirely, a grin lighting up his face. He didn't feel the need to reply again, just giving her hand a gentle squeeze. At her mild apology, he just chuckled. "It's fine. I think I'd look quite dashing in darker colors, don't you agree?" His bright smile lit up his face, though it dimmed a bit at her faked grin. He turned his head to the side, a soft frown coming onto his face. "Death... Tell me the truth, dear..." He had a tone of begging in his voice. "I can tell that something is bothering you... Please, let me help in anyway I can..." He leaned down, pulling her a bit closer as his hands rested just below her shoulders, on her arms loosely. "You're always strong. You always help me, so much. Please, just this once, let me repay the favor." A gentle kiss on her cheek, just an inch from her lips, conveyed the same emotions as his voice. He was literally begging her to tell him what was wrong. He was able to tell something was, gently feeling the bond between their minds. He'd never go as far as to force his way into her head, seeing that as an invasion of privacy, but he did gently move around the outside of her mind, trying to get a feel for her emotions.

Death, with cheeks with a blush that began to die down, glared at the Kami after kissing her cheek, but couldn't resist the grin that reversed her frown. "You are the exquisite one," she began, pushing his bright colored bangs to the left with a flick of her index finger. The Shingami fallen for the Lord before she could remember, so she was constantly reminding him how his romanticized compliments and such weren't necessary. Of course, Life didn't listen to her and proceeded with the sweet words anyway, cheesy as they could be, but the grin they so easily provoked always had a way of brightening the Lady's face, occasional hits and teases aside. "Come now, don't frown," she said, grabbing the Kami's chin to bring it close to hers. "It's not a good look for you." Her voice was nonchalant as she spoke, per the usual, but the emotion she almost never displayed in front of anyone else was there. Without a doubt. "You know how she is. She's jealous, extremely so. I highly doubt she'll become infatuated with you, but with time, as much as she's been given, she'll warm up to you." A small smile curved her lips. "Just think of it this way. She doesn't try to attack you every time you come, now. That's a sign. June will eventually open up when you're knocking, not with so much of a smile on her face, but more of one filled with pleasant surprise. It took her decades to like William, and look what happened? She loves that damned reaper almost as much as I." She chuckled and grazed Life's arm lovingly, her expression mocking. Damn, would she ever give the poor man a break? "You'd think you would be used to it by now, often as I do it." Turning to look the Kami deep in the eyes, she squinted, and gave him a quick 'up-down' look before resuming her normal, emotionless appearance. "They don't fit your personality," she began, then tilted her head just as he did. "But there isn't much you don't look ravishing in." Her confession seemed shameless as it rolled from her lips, and she pivoted to sort through her ridiculously large selection of clothing. Talk about a collection. She shuffled through the clothes, the occasional curse spilling from pale lips as she repetitively picked a shirt up, looked at it, and sighed before putting it back. That is, until Life's voice suddenly became lower and asked questions. Questions she dreaded to answer, questions she hoped he would never have to ask. "I'm...I'm fine, Life. You're being silly." She gulped and weaved out of the Kami's grip, something she usually didn't do, as she returned to the clothes, emerald eyes scanning over what seemed like hundreds of outfits by the way she flew past each one. She squirmed as she was able to feel Life trying to glance at her mind, and repeated the phrase, "I'm fine," before looking to the ground over her shoulder. "It hardly bothers me." She tried, oh, she tried to hide the burning in her throat, the throbbing of her head, the unpleasant tingle of her body as she spoke, but mistakingly let her voice highly crack at the word 'hardly.' She hadn't even been thinking. The phrase alone told him that something was getting to her nerves, how obvious could she have been? Death knew she should've pretended she wasn't home, she couldn't let anyone see her the way she was. It was a disgrace, being like this, and humiliated her to no end that June, June for christ's sake saw her like this, crazy as the girl was. God fucking dammit.

(( How I pump myself up for an RP:

"You spoil me with sweet words." The statement would have been truer coming from the other, as Lord Life was always the one giving compliments. He blushed faintly at his love's compliment, not replying though anything more than a gentle brush of his hand on her shoulder. He knew Death probably though his compliments were overdone, as many things Life did were, but he always felt the need to make sure his other half knew truly how precious they were to him, whether male or female. At her words, a slight eyebrow raised. "Oh my, I certainly hope she doesn't start to like my company that much- ever. I'd be happy with her not trying to attack me most the time- which she still does... Just not as often. I've learned not to come at certain times because she's even more volatile when interrupted from reading... Which is entirely understandable." Ahh, the Kami was babbling again, the realization causing him to slowly stop, not wanting to be seen as annoying. When she gave him another compliment, he laughed lightly. "My current attire is an exception to that..." A blush lit his cheeks in reminded of the outlandish outfit he grabbed in an attempt to not have to wear a dress. He pleasantly watched the shinigami look though all the clothing, starting to frown at her denial of something he could easily sense. "Death, please, don't lie to me..."

'It hardly bothers me.'

It wasn't the tone, or the crack in her voice. It was the words themselves that made him let out a sharp breath, eyes piercing though her skull as he ran a hand though his hair in frustration.

"You... You always do this." His voice was quiet, holding a rather dark emotion in it. Not anger, he's never be mad at her over something like this.

Hurt. His voice was hurt. "Every time... Every time I'm upset, you insist I tell you why. And I always do, because I can see how much you care... When I try to return the favor, you refuse to let me in." His eyebrows scrunched together a bit as his eyes shut, looking down with sorrow and mild annoyance. The feeling of rejection pumped through his veins with his blood, though it didn't bring a blush as it would on the Lady Life, just a sad expression. "You think strength is never breaking down. You always have. But you're wrong about that. Strength is being able to get back up after breaking down. Strength is being able to push aside all your walls for the person you love." He looked away, still frowning. His voice started to turn cold as tears of what could only be called anger mixed with his sorrow. "I won't force you to tell me. I'd never do that. But don't expect me to be happy that you think you're too independent to accept my assistance." His words left a bitter taste in his mouth. Oh, he wanted nothing more than to wrap his lover in his arms and tell her that everything would be alright... But she was refusing him the ability to help in any way, and unlike in his female form, he was more willing to call her out when she hurt him. While Lady Life would suffer in silence, bowing her head and accepting, Lord Life would do no such thing.

He couldn't stop himself from looking away from her, the mild pain in his chest causing him to have trouble controlling his emotions.

((COME AT ME, BRO

"If the words I say are spoiling you, then how does one describe what you say to me?"She quirked an eyebrow at the Kami and cockily ((*snickers*)) smirked, a challenging curve in her eye. A small smile smoothed out her smirk, and it grew with Life's affectionate touches. "Good lord," the Shinigami thought to herself, "I am so soft as a female." She shook the though, though, when Life's chuckles became nervous. Perhaps the word 'infatuated' may have been the wrong choice, because Death was trying to hide a maniacal cackle at his discomfort at the idea. Honestly, she didn't blame him, June could be a handful, but hell, she could still get a kick out of it.

"June has always had a... fascination with books. So you're wise to leave her when reading, beloved,"' she said, accompanied with a nod of appreciation. Death herself had been extremely fond of novels - perhaps it's where the servant picked up the trait? Who was to know? The woman stared at Life as he spoke, and studied his handsome, lively face. The way his hair curled to shape around his face drove her completely mad, even more so when it was tousled, as if he had been sleeping. Yup. Definitely soft. With a soft laugh, the Lady nodded in agreement, but her laugh died down quickly. She only gulped in response to his request and stared at all but her beloved. Out of guilt, shame, self hatred, she wasn't sure. All she knew was she could barely bring herself to look at him. Then he exhaled. And the way he did it, the fucking way he let out that breath was enough to put a massive crack in her weak, crumbling defensive walls.

She opened her mouth to protest, but pursed her lips when seeing his expression. Damn, that just about broke her, which was obvious when she became weak in the knees. She didn't fall though, back straightened with a stubborn refusal to succumb. Stubborn, it was probably the perfect word to describe The Lord and Lady, and there was no doubt in her mind that Life couldn't stand it. "Life, I-" she began, but stopped again when Life started speaking again. Death had always made a point to listen to what her beloved had to say - the Kami had so often become angered in how he didn't feel listened to, simply because of his youthful appearance. And her male self learned that the hard way.

"I'm not trying to be strong," she said, having decided to drop her planned defensive tone. Instead, she sounded like she didn't care, at least to herself. Anyone around her, though, could hear the broken sound in her voice, little as it came up. This feeling had only occurred every few thousand or so years, and even to say that would exaggerate the burden. But the feeling, when she had it, was so overwhelming... She was surprised to even find her hands only trembling instead of their usual violent shake, chest only a mild ache compared to a merciless burn as she was completely and utterly corrupted with guilt. Some days, she could even feel that wave of souls fly past her again, she could still see the millions of children calling for their parents, brothers and sisters, anyone to avoid isolation. "It's not that I don't want to tell you." A choked sob. "I would never reject your acceptance, Life!" Dropping the garments in hand, the Shinigami stormed over to the Kami and roughly grabbed his collar, noses almost touching as she yanked. "You know that." Emerald eyes swirled with yellows and oranges, a mix of emotion blending inside of her. "I am nothing without you, I don't think myself too anything for you, understand?!" Her voice cracked again, and with a loosening grip, she finally began to breakdown. The dreadful outburst, the complete loss of self control, this time in front of him, finally began to manifest, and it scared the Shinigami out of her wits.

"As total love and adoration, for that is what it is." He replied quickly, chuckling quietly at her words. He kept his hand on her shoulder, always being one for physical affection, even more than verbal. He looked over at her, sighing playfully. "Oh, don't hold back your laughter on my account. Feel free to laugh at me allllllllll you want." His words were playfully insulted, his bright eyes still amused. "Well, it is an evil thing to do, interrupt someone reading. Unforgivable. Absolutately." The seriousness in his voice only lasted for that last word, turning into light laughter. His laughs stopped just a moment after hers, looking down at her.

He knew he wasn't be fair, not really. He knew Death wasn't as strong as she always acted, but it simply pissed him off, and he didn't feel like burying that emotion. It wasn't the type of anger that started fights, or burned with hate. It was laced with the need to protect, love being what fueled him.

"Not trying to be strong? You always are, Death. I respect you for it, but..." Another angered breath left his lips, trying to calm down and listen to her carefully.

When she stormed over to him, he turned his head towards her, staring into her burning emerald eyes, laced with fire, with his own bright eyes, which looked cracked as emerald broke through the irises. At her shout, the emerald left his eyes, his hands wrapping around her waist to hold her close to him. He didn't say a word, just holding her tightly and pressing gentle kisses to her forehead and cheeks. He wouldn't give words of comfort, for there were none. There was no 'it's all okay' or 'it gets better' because, for Death, it didn't get better. Over the thousands of years, Life was able to sense this pain fill his lover's heart, which is why he was so determined to help her right now. The only words that were spoken, so soft they could have been mistaken for silence, was his constant whisper of one phrase. Again and again, as he held her and comforted her, he repeated three simple words. Meaningless apart, but so powerful together.

((DON'T CHALLENGE ME M8
I WILL BRING OUT MORE
*whispers* Don't do it.))

A simple nod as her response, Death chuckled with him and placed her hand over his. She ignored the awkward resistance at her joints with her arm bent at such an angle. She was simply happy to be with him. Well, as happy as she could be, given the situation. "I'll spare you the humiliation," she said through giggles - ugh - and played along with Life's game. Something she'd always been happy to do. The Lady picked up a novel lying on the table and looked at it, as if to prove a point, but set it gently aside when the Kami broke into laughs and joined him, hers a bit calmer than his.

"Well, it's different now," she snapped, voice a bit harsher than she'd intended. As much as Death wanted to just give him an apologetic stare, run to him and take the Kami into her arms with such force it almost knocked him over, she could hardly even do so much as glance in his direction.

Normally, she would've taken a step back in surprise with an eye color to match hers, but she was so dangled over the edge, she selfishly though unintentionally ignored it. She wondered what color her own irises were - must've been a rainbow of sorts, because there was no way in hell that they were just green, or even red for that matter. A golden, perhaps? Blue, purple? There was no way of telling, though the thought wasn't one of importance, anyway. Death was surprised at the feeling of arms wrapping around her waist. She half expected a yell in return, some sort of retaliation, but never for her other half to hold her.

Her usual calm breaths became shallow with panic, and finally the Shinigami collapsed onto her knees. Arms wrapped protectively around her head as she sobbed, and what she did next was surely going to come back and bite her in the ass, whether it was a taunt or a memory. Though she was certain it wouldn't be a taunt, seeing as one, Life would never be so cruel, and two, said cruelty would earn him an unamused scowl, or even a temporary dismissal from her realm. She crawled away from her beloved with choked breath, dark tears contrasting against her pale cheeks.

Mouth contorted with a reply, a return of  the three-worded phrase, she looked up at Life and tried to clear her throat, to no avail, and instead let out violent coughs that shook her body. "This so called 'stength' you accused me of, beloved..." The Lady grinned, and even let out a laugh of sorts, laced with resentment and slight insanity. "Is everything but. It's humiliation. Mortification." She scoffed. "I never wanted you to see me like this. But Life, I can't, I-" cut off by her own sob, Death leaned onto the floor and grabbed ruthlessly at her grey locks.

She let out a loud, uncontrolled screech as she sat up, violently lashing out at her mahogany floors. Such a loud bang it was, loud enough to startle June on the main floor, and they dented at the pounding of her curled fist. Pampered nails dug so fiercely into her palm she began to bleed, and she resumed her hunched over position. This was exactly what she had been trying to avoid. Life's opinion on her was sure to change, only the servant had ever seen her like this. Dammit, Death, and her inability to tell him no.

((BOOM. BROKE.
THE FUCK.
DOWN.))

((*animalistic screeching*))

Her harsh tone startled The Lord slightly, but he didn't respond, just allowing her to have her moment of pain. The Lord felt his anger burn away at his love's moment of weakness, just trying to hold her and show her that he cared. When she fell, he was there to catch her, leaning down to match her height and opening his mouth to say something. It stunned him back into silence as she literally crawled from him, bring slight tears to his eyes. It hurt his heart to see his beloved, the one that he never saw break, shatter as she was doing. At her coughing, he moved closer, placing a hand against her back and rubbing gently, trying to help her in any way he could. He couldn't help be taken aback by her grin, the emerald leaving his eyes instantly and  mouth opening slightly in shock. He closed his mouth a second later, looking at her with such care, such need to protect. He gazed at her as if she was the only thing he ever wanted to see again, even in such a state.
"It's pain." He finished her statement, voice holding a certain sureness, even though his eyes held sympathy. There was no pity in his gaze, just empathy. "It is all the pain that you are forced to hold for so many years."
When she screeched, he hardly blinked, though he felt tears forming in his eyes. He allowed her this, this release of her emotional pain, turning it physical. When he saw blood, though, he reacted instinctively, reaching out and forcing her hands open. "Don't. Don't you ever do that. Never hurt yourself." His voice was almost a growl, looking down at her eyes. He reached into a small bag he had tied to his waist, pulling out a small bottle with a softly colored violet liquid in it. Holding her hands tightly so she couldn't stop him, he poured a slight amount on her open palms, healing them instantly. He usually knew better than to order Death to do or not do anything, but in times like this, he learned that fragile people usually needed to be told how to help themselves. So that was what he would do. He let his powers manifest into something physical, creating a small vase in front of them. "Throw it. Break it. Destroy anything you want, as long as it isn't yourself." His voice was almost cold, but the look in his eye was still sympathetic, looking down at her. "One thing that I've learned, my love, is that pain demands to be felt." It was obvious in his eyes that he thought very little different of her. In fact, this had only made him care for her more.

((*tries to screech back but is tired*))

Death almost surprised herself with her reactions, but she knew she really didn't have a reason to be surprised, not truly. This was part of being the embodiment of Death, you had to deal with every dying thing you saw, age, condition, pleads aside. She was able to save some souls, as were her other reapers if they were lucky enough, but the ones that had no choice... Some of them were so disgusting, so guilt-enduring, and reacting the way she was in front of Life was the one and only method of release she accepted.

She wasn't sure herself as to why, besides having such a stubborn personality, but she figured, it was better than constant ones. She was Death, after all, she to be able to handle such trivial tasks was a part of her career. She looked at the blood in her hands and let out another grin, more sadistic than the last, and slapped it against a dark wall, red bright in contrast. "I've seen so much of this," she whispered, but didn't fight when said hands were roughly held onto and healed. She then snatched them away and peered up, eyes scarlet with a swirling of orange and red.

"Pain? Pain?! This is guilt, Life, this is NO SUCH THING AS PAIN." Running shaky fingers roughly through her hair, Death's grey locks fell into a mess on past her shoulders, and long bangs hung in front of her changing eyes. "I WISH this was pain, physical pain, so much more than the gnawing at my chest, and I just-" Another scream left Death, similar to before, only this one... This one was laced with hysteric sobs. The Lady's body jolted with every single one and exhaling only resulted in coughs so ruthless she was almost convinced blood trickled from her lips.

Fist curled into a ball, the Shinigami rammed it through a wall as she pounded on it with incredible strength. Her breaths were frantic and legs like jelly, and practically ignored the Kami with one of her heads stabbing at her scalp with nails like blades, though she hardly realized she was doing it. She hardly recognized any of her actions, besides the fact that she was freaking out. She felt herself move with speed and anger, fueled by a self hatred that she was tricked into thinking vanished, only to be pulled back down into the reality that this was her entire existence. And while being what she was had its perks, it took its toll on her. And she was even doing it in front of Life. She would never be able to forgive herself.

Lashing out with her feet, Death stood with a wobbly stance and attacked the small table that sat in the center of her bedroom, knocking off things of all sorts - Vases and pictures, both of which were of priceless quality, and eventually the table itself as it splintered into nothing but wood. It must have seemed like she was having a tantrum - and in ways, she was - but she could only handle such a feeling for so long until she broke, only to build back up after it was done.

"It's NOT PAIN!" she repeated. She inhaled quickly, so much that she choked, and trembled as her back made contact with the wall once more. A different wall, though, the one that sat parallel to where she was when denting the floor, and swirling eyes finally begin to die from from their dark orange to a yellow, specks of blue seeping through her irises. "Life." Her voice was weak and quiet, and Death slid down the wall, body still convulsing with unforgiving intakes of breath.

((*will teach you to screech*))

He would never admit it, but Life was terrified. He had never seen his other like this, but he was almost relieved to. He didn't like secrets, so knowing that his precious love went though this pain- he didn't care what she called it, it was pure pain- was something he felt he should have known. He couldn't help her, just staying where he was and watching with his big purple and pink eyes, a tear leaking from them. She denied the fact it was pain, then told him it was pain a moment later. But he didn't argue. He sat and watched, letting her burn like a fire through the room.
Her scream, her refusal, just made him frown more. At the weak cry of his name, he moved over to her quickly, taking the cloak he still covered himself with and lying it slightly between them, using it to make sure not a drop of blood touched his skin. He didn't speak still, just nuzzling his dark red hair into her shoulder, then angling his head to press a kiss to her cheek.
When he finally spoke, it was to say the same thing he had repeated before. A constant stream of words of affection came from his lips, so quiet that The Lady could hardly hear them over her sobs. The words I love you were repeated again and again, each time in a different language. He hardly seemed to notice the language changing, worried only about trying to comfort his love.

(( Excuse me while I drop this starter here. ))

"This is so not my idea of summer vacation." Dakota whined, sitting on the side of the abandoned road, next to a wrecked pickup truck. It had slammed into a lamppost at the middle of the night, since it was nearly 2 AM, and it actually had hit someone. A common enemy of hers, actually. "I cannot believe I just killed Ash Landers with Alfred's crappy pickup truck and a Deadpool laser pointer." She looked down. Even if the Animese angel would regenerate in a few days, and even if he was an enemy, she still felt bad for actually taking away someone's life. "At least you shut that thing up." Levi blatantly told her, looking at the damage with a flashlight. Haruhi, Eren, and Alois remained silent, the blonde chewing gum, Haruhi trying to text somebody to tell them where they were, and Eren looking between Dakota and the Corporal. "Hey, brat, it'll regenerate. The damn angel isn't dead for long, so don't fucking sweat it." The ravenette said, looking up with a sigh. Dakota stood back, looking at the glitching body. "...I'm more concerned that we trashed the pickup by killing a man with it." "It was a shitty pickup."

(( For a small bit of information, Animese (anime characters from the dimension Kota travels to) cannot exactly fully die.
If they are killed like Mr. Landers, here, they simply explode into pixels after a while and regenerate where they died, but with no memory. And then it returns after a few weeks.
Xia came up with an idea that their life energy and soul is scattered during regeneration, so if Death can actually collect those pieces of the soul is up to you. ))

June walked beside the Lord Death with a scowl on her face, and sleepily rubbed her right eye like a child. It wasn't that they didn't go collecting souls at late hours, but when they did, she usually wasn't interrupted from her sleep. "This is stupid." She crossed her arms. "Having a hunch on a soul doesn't justify waking me up," she snapped, for what had to be the first time in decades at the Lord Death. She was always very respectful when it came to him, (usually) very obedient, but a drowsy June was a bitchy June, despite her love for soul gathering. "Why aren't the reapers taking care of this, anyway? It is in their job description to do things such as this, I don't understand why we have to." "I simply wanted to see it for myself. I've had this strange sensation before, but never myself got a chance to investigate. So I took the opportunity before the reapers could." "Hmph." June stayed silent as her and Death approached the scene, curiosity tilting her head. The bits of the soul, too grabbed her attention, and she walked ahead of the Lord to examine them. "My, my," he began, ignoring his venturing servant, and turned to the group. "What happened here? How gruesome..." June picked up the bit of Ash's soul and held it in her fingers, coughing. "It's so pure," she gagged, and held it far out in front of her as she walked it over to the Lord Death. "What is this meant to be?" Death examined the small piece of soul with squinted eyes, then lazily tossed it back to his servant, though she dodged it with an irritated hiss. "Animese soul," he began, and watched as the tiny pieces danced around the area. "Nothing of extreme value. We use these as a game for the children reapers, chasing them until they're caught. Although..." He turned and faced the group, eyes running over every one of them with a smile on his lips. "This was quite reckless. Who's to thank for the game pieces?" Stalking away from Death, June began to wake up a little more, her sadistic character returning to her. She stalked closer to the green-eyed soldier and looked at him curiously, head tilted. She tapped him on the shoulder, drawn to his well-hidden but still sensible grief, and lifted up his arm as she rudely inspected his 3D maneuver gear.

(( *dies from amazing concept* Yes, thank you for the starter, just Dakota is just so kickass, yes ;w; I would've tried to start something, but I'm really bad at starters and don't know how they would be able to interact if Death started out, so I'm sorry. And I hope you don't mind what I did with the soul pieces, there, it just kinda popped into my head.))

Dakota looked up at the two as they approached, chocolate brown eyes suddenly highly alert. "U-Uh...hi..." She said, nervously, not answering the Lord Death's question due to her normal apprehension of strangers that looked like they could actually be from the dimension of Animisea. She looked at Levi, communicating with her eyes. The corporal saw her nervousness, and looked back at Death, clearing his throat.
"We would be, actually. And no, it wasn't reckless driving, the son of a bitch was trying to attack Dakota and she acted in self-defense. He'll pop up soon, though....tragically..." The ravenette male sighed, putting a hand to his forehead and closing his eyes for a few seconds. "And...how would you know about Animese souls, sir...?" The girl asked, blinking behing her pink rimmed glasses. "Only Dimewalkers and Animese know about that..."
Meanwhile, Eren slightly jumped at June tapping his shoulder, turning around with a mildly shocked face. "Uh...." He said, raising an eyebrow as she lifted his arm. He then yanked it away, annoyed that a total stranger was invading his personal space like this. Geez, he didn't even know who this girl was and he felt intimidated by her. With all the annoyance in his voice, he asked, "Do you mind?"

"Oh, how rude of us. Neither of us even thought to greet you lot, my apologies. That over there is-" The Shingami cut himself off when his eyes landed on his maid. Of course she was invading someone's personal space, but with an unamused expression, he waved it off. He would take care of her after a proper introduction. "June." The girl gave a quiet 'hmph' as her response, and completely ignored that she was supposed to be introducing herself and not harassing soldiers.

Smiling almost sweetly, though that word was practically senseless in the long list of words to describe her, she looked up at the taller boy through grey hair. "Not at all. What are these weird trinkets you have here?" She asked, pouting when he snatched his arm back. "I was only curious," she snapped, but stayed near him, nonetheless. Then she got an idea, totally improper for a maid, but still in a drowsy haze, June didn't have that filter - not that it was necessarily there - that alerted, "Hey, that's a bad idea!" Grinning evilly, the girl looped her finger through one of Eren's leather straps, pulled back, and released it with a harsh crack.

Oblivious to the maid that would surely earn a scolding and quite possibly a slap to the forehead, the Shinigami continued from where he had left off. "I am the Lord Death. It's a pleasure." He took Dakota's hand in his and lightly kissed it, emerald eyes polite as they met hers. When Levi spoke, though, Death turned, taking his attention with him. Releasing Dakota, he nodded, his kind smile slightly fading when the word "attack" came to his ears. "Oh. Well, then, I suppose he deserved it," he said lazily, and looked to the damage. It had been a bloody mess, but he felt no sympathy for the angel. Stories came from reapers of all types of the nuisance, how he constantly disturbed them and the souls they collected. In fact, he gave a scowl, and wished they hadn't appeared as similar as they did. It was so unfortunate, he thought, but waved the thought away.

His eyebrows raised at Dakota's question, Death gave a light chuckle and gestured to himself as he spoke. "Well, being Death, there aren't any souls I don't know about, collection intended or not. We use the animese souls, here, as a game for our youthful reapers, an early training for the few children there are of Shinigami." He picked up another piece of Ash's soul and crushed it fiercely in his palm, grin wiped completely away, and the few bits left of it dangled lifelessly to the ground.

Dakota blushed at the Lord Death's chivalrous gesture, Levi looking back as Eren flinched from the impact on his thigh. "Jaeger, behave yourself." The corporal stated, once again looking forward and sighing. Alois laughed at Eren's yelp once the crack had entered into the air, only to be smacked on the back of the head by Haruhi.
"Don't laugh. What if it were you?"
"I would have retaliated!"
"You can't hit a girl."
The blond and the brunette began their bickering, Dakota sighing and smiling at Death politely. "I'm Dakota, Dakota Naomi Pawn. It's very nice to meet you, sir." She responded, curtsying with the yellow sundress she wore. "This is part of my group, or my team and my family, Lance Corporal Levi, Eren Jaeger, Earl Alois Trancy, and Haruhi Fujioka." Levi gave a small shrug, Eren too busy with June to respond, Alois sighing and waving, Haruhi doing the same.
Just then, the form of the angel flickered, and just like with all Animese deaths, his body turned into a storm of pixels that scattered.

At the corporal's scold, June gave a small giggle and innocently placed her hands behind her back. She grinned at the green-eyed solider as she apologized, though the apology had more of a mocking sound to it than it was sincere. "Aww, how cute, Eren fits you perfectly!" the maid squealed, patting him lightly on the head. "So, what tragic death did you encounter? I can practically smell it-"

"Enough, June." The maid, flustered with embarrassment, let out a cry with the slap to her forehead, pouting up at its red mark. "You can be cruel at times, my Lord," she whined. She tried - futilely, may I note - to rub the mark away to no avail, and let out a groan. "You need to learn proper manners." He gave her hair a tug, which earned him a cry almost identical to the one from before. "My apologizes, Eren. She has a few issues with personal space." He looked down at the maid, unamused, then back up to Dakota. Death smiled when she introduced herself and gave a respectful bow of his head. "It's nice to meet you, too miss Pawn. Same applies to you, Corporal. Alois, Haruhi."

At the name 'Alois,' June seemed to perk up, and, most likely to the poor solider's relief, her attention snapped from Eren to the icy, blue-eyed blonde. "Trancy. Trancy, I've heard of you." Throwing a finger in his direction, June continued with a tilt of her head. "You and some Phantomhive boy were constantly talked about by reapers. Especially by that red-headed, lovesick fool, Grell." She said the shinigami's name like it put a bad taste in her mouth, despite their few similarities in behavior. June was bitchier, though. Much bitchier. "That idiot is infatuated with some demon, or any other attractive male he can find." She paused, leaning forward into Alois before she continued with her 'accusation,' so to speak. "Speaking of demons, you made a contract with one," she said, face contorting with disgust. "Claude, isn't it? And just why would you do that?"

It was then both June and Death's attention were on Ashe's body as it scattered, and while the maid stared with awe, Death gave a simple 'hmph.' "I must apologize that you're burdened with him. He's quite the pain in the ass, if I do say so myself," Death grumbled, and pushed his expertly crafted spectacles further up the bridge of his nose.

Eren flinched. He knew exactly what the girl was talking about, and he didn't want to bring it up again. Sure, his mother regenerated just like all Animese, but the memory of her being broken and then eaten by that goddamn smiling titan would be forever embedded in his memory. That feeling of grief set in his stomach, and then, quickly, it swirled and churned until it was full, searing rage. His teeth gritted for a moment, until Haruhi touched his shoulder and shook her head. It was a signal for Eren to calm down, and knowing the normally blunt teen, he really had no choice.

Dakota smiled at the lord, not seeming to be phased by the fact that she was speaking to actual Death himself. She was a little shocked, however. Who knew that Death was not a thing, but a person, let alone the leader of all Grim Reapers - or at least in the Black Butler universe. Death Gods of Death Note and the Shinigami of Bleach did not really count, or at least in her mind. "It is a pleasure to meet you, too, sir." She smiled politely. Levi saluted, while Haruhi briefly smile and slightly bowed to the figure in respect.

At June's comment, a blond head whipped around and nodded. "Yes, that would be me." The boy stated, crossing his arms and turning around fully. His whole figure held such sass, ready with any comebacks for insults that others threw at him, and by God, there were many. "As far as I'm concerned, you're only here to collect souls, so why I would sell mine to a demon is none of your bloody business. I have my reasons, dearie." He then smirked. His bitchiness countered June's bitchiness, and the mere scene made Dakota look down in embarrassment. "Does he always have to get in an argument with everyone we meet?" Levi then asked, almost ready to separate the earl from the maid. Dakota gave her friend a slight glare. "He's just like a normal teenage girl. Give him a break."

She then turned back to Death, shrugging. "He's not as bad as any witch. To be honest, he's attacked us once before, and even then, he was quite easy to take down."
"Yes, I handled him with a lawnmower."
"Shut up, Levi."
"Feathers scattered around the whole yard, it's impossible to forget the mess..."
"She said 'shut up', Corporal."
"Don't tell me to shut up, Jaeger, even if you're just quoting Dakota."
