How do I? Well, I read the piece, then I think about it a long time, figure out what worked, what I might've done differently, why the writer didn't go that route, and fully appreciate the intent behind the piece.

Well, what you do is find a work that is asking for a critique. Usually a premium member. Then you click the button in the comments section, and you got a full blown critique.

If they aren't asking for a critique, then you make a really long comment.

That's why I only post works that I don't care about on my dA page. I have novels and big ideas myself, but I keep those ideas close to the chest. I post up my fanfiction, some random short fiction, rejected novels, etc on here. ^_^
