Heeey, yes. I'm bad at keeping in touch, sorry. Β Β Especially when I don't really have a way to contact you outside of Tumblr and here. Half hearted attempt at profile revival, cutting down on who I watch and such to make it feel less like work and more... actual enjoyable things. Think I need to go through my gallery with a shovel. Or a torchΒ Β
How're you doing?

No worries about not keeping in contact. Doing that is super hard now'a'days. Honestly, DA is the best way to contact me. I do have a Tumblr that you can try.
Haha, I've been doing the same. I just cleaned up my gallery recently. I unsubbed from a few artists too.
Honestly, its been meh. Lots of ups and downs, but mostly downs. I'm okay though. This past month was insanely stressful, but it seems like its over now and I'm am doing a ton better.

I already follow your tumblr, but I don't use that either much anymore.
That sounds kinda shit. I've felt stressed for about a year on and off, and it's not fun. What do you do these days?

Zukiuke In reply to Lufteluke [2017-08-27 02:11:10 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it sucked ass. I'm hoping this feeling good lasts for a while.
Mostly living actually, and drawing my comic, haha. I sear I'm going to finish this comic. There are a lot of elements in it that are important too me. Personal and creative wise. I can't keep this story in my head, or I'll go crazy. I'm trying to get back into animation. I did that whole Bronytoons thing years ago and I have animated little things here and there recently. Nothing like animated shorts. Just practice. I have the basics memorized, but I haven't been motivated enough to actually animate.Β
I've gotten into fixing cars. I seem to learn quickly and be successful in repairs. I quite enjoy it. I've got my first car in the back field, and it needs to be dragged out and worked on. The person before me did so much damage trying to fix it without proper studying. Its bad when a first time driver and someone who has never worked with cars can right away can undo a lot of the damage. The stories of what they did to break it and how simple the repairs were is comical. The hardest thing I did was replace the cabin air fan and get the A/C working. Unfortunately, this model of car suffers from terrible electrical problems and that has mostly been the death of it. At the end, it started smoking very badly when I drove it. Its a goner and I'm going to have to sell it as scrap. If I had the money for insurance, I would keep it and try to fix it up.Β I miss that car because of its turbo. It was insane fun putting your foot down and taking off. Even more fun to drift it. If rally car driving was a thing in the US, or something similar, I'd drop everything and make it a career. I love rally so much.
Sorry for the rambling! I just get excited about this stuff.Β
My turn to ask. What do you do these days?

Comic sounds good, I always enjoy those, and your style is as enjoyable as it was when I was active.
I like rambling, it saves me from digging Especially when it's hours or days between replies. So is the car fixing thing a hobby, or do you make money off it too?
I'm glad you find it amusing, though, you should come over and fix my brake lines so my car can pass its road test and not shell out about $1200 for a garage to fix it.
Drifting also sounds fun, I've never tried that properly, a little bit on the snow, but we only got like 3 days of that last year xD
I work for the mail service until new years and after that I don't know. Feel a bit lost, I deffo don't wanna do that anymore, fucks with my back and rots my brain. At least I can listen to music/podcasts/audio books, and the pay is okay. Since last September I've been delivering mail, but from Monday on, I'll sort stuff in the terminal. Same pay, one hour shifted to the morning (7-3 instead of 8-4).
I kinda wanna do locksmithing, but i don't know how viable that is. I work for free for a game company, but I've been falling badly behind because of emotional stress and work stress (crush that didn't work out). Also kinda wanna move to Iceland or something for no other reason than that I like Iceland, don't even know the language.
Aaaand I'm working on getting an MC licence, but I won't make that before they stop having tests in October, do that's for spring, I suppose. Also costs money, the brake lines issue was unforeseen, I don't really have savings

The comic is in my gallery or you can view it here:Β somniumzurem.smackjeeves.com/
I glad you think my style is enjoyable.
Its a hobby/necessity. I'm at the bottom of the economical class, so if something goes wrong with my car, I have no money to get it fixed.
Haha, I couldn't do your break lines even if you got me over there, lol. Im not that skilled yet. That is something you go to school to learn.
Well, here is the deal with drifting. Don't drift on asphalt unless you know what you are doing. I've never tried and wont attempt to. Make sure if it's legal to drift were you live. Here its illegal to drift in public areas. I suggest drifting in gravel, dirt, or a field. Perferably some where out in the country. Rear wheel drive is easy to drift because the wheels break traction when you over-steer and hold the throttle. You don't need to use the hand break to drift because its easy to break traction with the back wheels. Front Wheel Drive is harder because it tends to under-steer, so you have to use your hand break to drift that one. AWD vehicles are nearly impossible to drift. My current car is AWD and I barely got it to drift in the field. If you find out what sweet spots to hit while attempting a drift in an AWD vehicle, then your are golden. Still doesn't feel as nice, though.
I'm sorry to that your job is messing you up. Well, the only thing I can think of is seeking out another job near the end of the year, so that you wont be unemployed during. I would look up how to do that first.
I believe Locksmithing would be a viable job, but the thing is you have to do schooling for it. There are multiple things a Locksmith does, so I bet the pay is good.
Moving into another Country, huh? I would never be able to now'a'days, but I did plan to move to Canada for animation school. You should study up on Iceland. Look up all the aspects of living there, Ex. Goverment, housing costs, employment rates, social services, ect. ESPECIALLY look up how to become a citizen, or requirements to be allowed to live there. Canada requires that you have a job set up there, or you are going to school there, or else they will not allow you to live there. As for language, you tend to learn faster being there in person than studying. I would still study if you are sure you are going to live there.Β
What's a MC licence?Β

Lufteluke In reply to Zukiuke [2017-08-28 07:30:24 +0000 UTC]
I skimmed through it earlier, but I've read some of it before too
And that's understandable, what car do you have, even?
And yeah, I don't think drift is legal on public roads here either. I don't think I'm gonna take my car into a field or anything, but maybe an empty parking lot in the snow xD at least i have RWD.
Wouldn't matter too much if I was unemployed for a month or two, I make enough to qualify for support while I look for a new job. But yes, would be best to transfer straight over.
I'm not about to move anytime soon, just dreams and such. Wouldn't really need to worry about citizenship much since they're EEA like Norway. Open borders. Icelandic is similar to Norwegian too
Motorcycle licence

Zukiuke In reply to Lufteluke [2017-08-28 22:31:05 +0000 UTC]
My car is a 2000 Subaru Outback.
Snow is a bit harder to regain tracking, but as long as the parking lot is big and empty, you'll be fine. :3
I guessing there are high employment rates there? That is a good thing to hear. The US's employment rates are shit. You can end up being unemployed for a year, maybe more depending on your work history and such.
That is pretty neat that they have open borders. I always found that region of countries very interesting. You guys seem pretty chill.
Β Oh, a motorcycle licence. Cool.

That's a pretty neat car, very looks more at home in a field than my 2011 Peugeot Ion would Hope it's fixable despite its tendency to smoke
And spinning out is half the fun, right? I may have done a hand brake slide stop thing in the postal car once, shh
Unemployment is about 4.5%. Iceland is even better at 2.4%. And yeah, US is a bit mean with the whole work thing. If you have a decent job, not a minority and can afford health insurance, the US seems pretty good.
Yeah, you don't really need a passport, but Norway doesn't really have internationally recognized high security ID until April next year, so we kinda need passports still. But only cause you need valid ID to get on aircrafts and such. Moving here from outside of the EU/EEA is a bit trickier, though. Pretty much have to have a job lined up, a place to live, then stay for like 2 or 5 years before you can apply for citizenship. Don't recall, but annoying for sure. The EU works kinda like the US, but a little bit more complicated since there are so many countries and no overarching "state". But in principle open borders, just a lot of paperwork. Also, moving is expensive, even worse when it's across countries, so that's a thing too

People will take Subarus through forests and up steep embankments if they have their Subarus fitted with gear to get them out of situations that gets them stuck. There is tons of videos of people doing that. That Peugeot Ion has the most interesting design I have every seen. Oh my god those back wheels and hatch. Its the better version of Smart Cars. I call Smart Cars butt plugs because they are so small. I have no idea why people have them where I live. We are a small pit stop town surrounded by fields. Everyone drives SUVs or Trucks. Its so stupid! xD
Spinning out is fun if you mean to.
The whole job thing and health insurance is no good, but it could be worse. The worst part is getting help with mental illness. A lot of insurances do not cover any other doctors than a psychiatrist and a therapist. No behavioral therapists, psychotherapists, or occupational therapist which a lot of people need. Some much needed medications are a no go. I'm lucky enough to get all meds covered. Not lucky enough to get a specialist that I really need.
Interesting. Bummer that it requires more work though, but its understandable.

Lufteluke In reply to Zukiuke [2017-08-31 14:40:22 +0000 UTC]
Sounds about right. A Subaru won the 2003 WRC, so obviously all Subarus are fit for mountaineering.Β
Mine's quite small too, at least narrow. Doesn't feel that small inside, except for only having two back seats and a small-ish trunk. The engine's back there, so limited storage. Easy to park, though, and I pay very little road tax and no tolls going into/through town, so that's like 10$ saved every day. A Smart car is definitively small for a car, but one seriously big butt plug, I wonder if they vibrate. And yeah, they are city cars for sure, I have a range of about an hour, not fit for outback or country all that much xD
Yeah, it could be worse, but Canada is a good example of how there's no real reason it can't be a lot better. And yeah, that sounds really sucky, but I'm glad you get yours. It's kinda hard getting much help mentally here either, you're a lot "better" off if you're physically injured/disabled. Tried seeing the doctor about stress/anxiety last year and there's basically a 2 year wait for publicly funded psychologists. And no meds unless a psychologist signs off on it, so lol. People with big problems jump the queue, obviously, they're not about to let suicidal people wait for 2 years, but if you just want some help, you're out of luck. Or time.
Yeah, it makes sense that people should kinda have a job when they move, though. Don't wanna strain the social system before they're even residents. I think the US is similar in its policies. This doesn't apply to refugees, of course

Subaru's are nice.
That sounds like a nice little car. Engine in the back huh? The only cars we have here that have engines in the back is Volkswagen Bugs.
Im sorry to hear your mental health system is not very good. That is much worse than ours. I feel bad for complaining! Im sorry. Its nice that people who have bad mental illness get help ASAP with the system.
Honestly, I have not looked into the requirements to move to the US. Never really had to, but I imagine its the same here, if not harder.Β

I think it's fairly common for electric cars, but I haven't looked to into it. As an update to my brake issues, I've found someone willing to try to weld and replace the broken sections of the pipes instead of replacing them outright. It'll cost me about half, so that's nice. It's soooo tight back there, (more buttplug jokes) so I understand that they don't wanna do that at the garage. I don't understand why they don't use at least galvanised steel on those lines, or at least a jacket. The dude will also treat the remaining pipe to stop it happen again. I hope you're able to fix your car, though, despite your grim prognosis earlier.
Eeeh, I'm not that bad, I feel better than I did last year. It's mostly fuelled by stress, and current job is less stressful. And I'm not sure it's that much worse here, since it's state substituted. I could still go to a private psychologist or group therapy, but I can't afford the former and I'm uncomfortable enough talking to one person at the time. No reason to be sorry, I'm just having conversation. I still think I prefer this system, even though it's a bit flawed. I don't mean to complain eitherΒ
I think it's pretty similar, being married makes it easier though. Not sure how that works out here. I have a friend who's moved the US, and another friend who has a wife who is coming here. Not talked to him in a while, and I don't really question him about the details, but it's not trivial either way xD

Well, that is an interesting fix. At least it will be cheaper and the dude is willing to go a bit further to insure your lines wont break again. I'm guessing they made the line out of Aluminum?
I'm glad you are feeling better. Stress is the worst. No worries on complaining. I don't mind.
Oh yeah, being married makes everything 10x smoother. That is the other thing I forgot that will get you into another country without much trouble. Staying in touch with people that you used to hang out with in person is hard to do when they move. Adulthood makes it so much harder too.Β

Lufteluke In reply to Zukiuke [2017-09-04 07:49:27 +0000 UTC]
I forgot what he's replacing them with, possibly nickel-chromium, the ones that are there now are plain steel. And yeah, pride in work, I guess.
Thanks, I hope your meds help too.
Finding someone to marry is possibly harder than moving, though. Although some people are better at it than others. And some are a little too good, by your third marriage/divorce some hesitation might be in order
I think I'd manage to keep in touch, only really hang out with one friend in person, everyone else is online or are more like friends of friends. Adulthood less fun, though

Zukiuke In reply to Lufteluke [2017-09-05 09:08:13 +0000 UTC]
Huh, interesting. Being able to fix cars does give you pride and satisfaction. It kinda makes you feel important.
My meds do help, but there are somethings that are needing managing in other areas.
Haha, yeah. I wouldn't say someone is good if they got married three times and divorced 2 times. I would call that dysfunctional and impulsive. Marriage is so glorified because of movies, so its not uncommon for people to jump the gun, lol.
Same, only got 3 people that I hang out with in person. Its been harder because they have jobs now. Adulthood sucks ass big time. I want to be a teenager again and not have to stress over surviving. Β

Fixing things in general, I think, and he's a professional too. At least I get similar feels whenever I un-break something
Myeah, I can imagine, only so much you can do chemically.
Agreed, and religion helps it along quite nicely with the whole "no fun outside marriage" thing too. Dunno how common that is, but I know it made a friend of mine marry at 17 with a girlfriend he'd had for like 6 months. Seems rash, but I think they're still together, so...
Also agreed, time machine would be much appreciated. I vote to dial down the teenage cringe, though. Don't miss having even worse social antenna than I do now.
π: 0 β©: 1
Zukiuke In reply to Lufteluke [2017-09-07 21:53:04 +0000 UTC]
Its incredibly satisfying.
Here is the US, marriage is basically becoming one person. Its hard to say that people will stay married if they only dated for 6 months. Religion is dying out, so people find it easy to just quit when they feel unhappy. They have nothing moral wise to hold them back. Getting married earily is what I call "Buying it before trying it". Its a gamble. Some people get luck on their side and their marrage works out.
Oh holy shit, dude. Children and teens are horrible. Well, except its the parents that allow their 3 year old play on an Ipad because the parents don't want to deal with their kid. EVERY fucking parent does it. Teens are exploting serious mental health and gender issues and pretending to have them for attention. I have actual PTSD and can provide medical documented proof. I feel ashamed to even tell medical professionals because these fucking kids got people to judge you right away for even saying the words. It infuriates me to read these Tumblr post claiming how hard PTSD is and can't even describe the ins and outs of the disorder. Look at the art I draw. It only describes one part of the disorder, one that is crippling by itself. Its very insulting for people who actually suffers all their life.
I apologize for getting upset and intense there.

Lufteluke In reply to Zukiuke [2017-09-08 11:36:00 +0000 UTC]
I generally don't think people who are unhappy together should stay together. Maybe try to make it better for a while, but if it's not working, it's better than being miserable and angry until one of them dies. Marriage generally seems more like a promise to eachother rather than to anything else. As for morality, there's still a social stigma associated, as well as a mountain of paperwork, logistical and monetary challenges in divorce, so I think people still have a pretty good incentive to avoid it if they can. I think the problem is more that people marry too fast and too lightheartedly. Also agreed on the trying.
Tablets and phones are part of reality now, trying to keep kids off it completely seems like a bad idea too. Everything in moderation, I guess, and parents should spend time on them together with the kids to help develop a healthy relationship with the internet.
Haha, man, Tumblr kids have all the illnesses, it's totally reasonable to get PTSD cause someone commented that they're fake and gay. But yeah, it's a mess, and a lot would be helped if parents paid a bit more attention.
It's fine, I don't mind at all.
