Chinese calendars used to be organised by lunar calendar (i.e we work out a year using the moon) Which makes our new year on a different day to western new year. ^_^

Every new years, you eat noodles because they are supposed to give you long life. (Because the noodle is long and unbroken), and dumplings on a new year is supposed to promise a happy year etc. ^_^
