Be Art.
Be Art is my current state of an evolving self consciousness of life experience over time. Be Art interrogates the truth and separates the myth of boundary, investigating aspects of self through a contemporary lens exploiting such timely themes as inequity, inequality, gender, transition and re-birth. Be Art presents this reality to the initiate and un-initiate, alike for introspection, self-examination and awareness without judgment or bias, simply as a matter of factual existence. The act of painting is a journey of honesty, confrontation and examination of the ties which bind one to this world. Through this act, a dance ensues of which object and self inform the other to reveal a presently unknown or hidden facet as beauty of life experience through questioning and interloping, deliberating color, and form with hand, stick, paint and brush onto canvas. Be Art is connecting a common thread “unfolding” it towards an ever greater present humanity, towards a lightness of being and celebrating acts of shared feeling through the experience of Art. Self and Object are one in the same. I am Art.

I am sure that I will and I do look forward to seeing more. You are inspiring. Keep doing your great work.
Your words ring true for me also, as I have never felt like I fit in and still don't (except with other artists)... I do try.
At 45, I still think that it will get easier, perhaps now that I no longer participate in the former corporate career choice. Even though my successes are up and down, I still remain true to myself and am overall generally happy!

My advice to anyone: Be true to you, happiness is important, enjoy often what makes you happy and whole. I support you and all artists. We need it! There are monsters out there.
