First of all, I don't think that it's wrong to reference pictures. I myself do this. But she should have at least credited the original photographer.

Eh, it's just how closely it's referenced. The drawing is hers, but if you heavily reference a photo it's generally a good idea to give credit.

As I said, I reference anatomy all the time. The only difference in it is that I don't reference too heavily. Referencing is a tricky topic. I definitely support artists referencing, but the heavier you go, the more the credit would be due, in my opinion.

I agree, my only stipulation though was that it was a study. The goal is to get as close as you can to the source material in an effort to understand it.
