# About me



I’m Abbey. I’m a sixteen year old American dreamer, writer, and wannabe artist. I live in a teeny tiny almost non-existent town in Alaska. Bears and moose hang out in my yard, wolves howl across the river as I fall asleep, and the blueberry picking is fantastic! There are about 350 residents here in the winter, but in the summer the population more than doubles.

I am inspired by the coexisting ferocity and beauty of the natural world. My dream job is to work as an expedition guide for National Geographic. I may also volunteer with the Peace Corps, become a biologist, ecologist, environmental science teacher, or teach English in schools abroad. I want to make my life an adventure!

This year I left my home in Alaska to be an exchange student in Germany for a year. Although I’ve just hopped across the pond in the beginning of August, I have already learned monumental amounts about people, culture, and society in general. If anyone is interested in participating in an exchange, write me a note, I know lots of good resources and I can help guide you in the right direction.
