So I couldn't put the ring into something like a watch and set it up with some sort of amplifier so I wouldn't be obviously wearing it?
What I meant with the two genes thing was that one was dominant, but the other could influence learnable moves or ability, EX eevee gene is dominant but one of ditto's moves or abilities is learned. Could that work?

You wouldn't even have to do something as complicated as that, although you could do that if you wanted to. You could just have the watch itself be the humanizing device. Like I said in the last comment, it doesn't have to be a ring. The technology can be used to make multiple kinds of humanizing items, like rings, necklaces, watches, even glasses. There's a lot of possibilities when it comes to humanizing devices.
