Mmm, well... I see My Paint and Krita too different, My paint is made exclusively for draw and paint, to emulate the tradicional way to painting and drawing outside the computer and is designed to be like that and to us to feel comfortable in its simple format.
However, Krita is made to ''compete'' with gimp and photoshop and be another option beyond those software, sometimes I see people who are not comfortable with Gimp, corel or photoshop and they are looking for new alternatives. Well with Krita, have a lot of interesting things, you can create good brushes and have much more tool editions unlike MyPaint, if you want to do concept art or enviroment is better to use Krita, and my paint is really comfortable for portraits.Β
I tell you this as a personal opinion, and not as something that you have to take as a global comment. I use Krita and My Paint because I like it and I feel comfortable with that.
