Thank you, but the linked Web site isn't mine: it belongs to Olly Moss.

I did manage, with a little help, to identify all 176 images there.

That firehouse in the link looks pretty awesome I think I'll try myself on this one as well

It turned out well (I built one in February) but needs some reinforcement to keep the long walls straight. I cut a thick piece of foamcore to fit inside and that did the job nicely, but laminating the long parts to thicker card (0.5 or 1 mm) would also work.

I did it yesterday and it worked very well. My interior actually nearly fits, just a little too large

Excellent! I just finished reworking all your parts as vector art, with some additional structure and tabs that won't interfere with one another or overlap. I'll have to measure the firehouse model to see how far your parts need to be reduced to fit easily.

No, *much* louder than that.

Honestly, though, fifteen cockatiels aren't nearly as loud as one sun conure or two lovebirds.

Thank you! I just saw your builds of the Trojan Rabbit and Gizmonic Institute. Well done!

The GI is a bit strange to build, isn't it? It's like a big paper flower until you get the top glued on.

DobbyKnits In reply to MikeHungerford [2007-02-09 22:45:38 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for your compliment, Mike!

As I've told all the 'deviants' who've commented on your models, the credit goes to you for designing such great works!

And yes, GI was a quirky one. Reminded me of the main gear wheel in a paper clock I once tried to build when I was a much greener card modeler. Perhaps one day I'll tackle that project again. I'd love to see a finished working version.

MikeHungerford In reply to DobbyKnits [2007-02-10 20:23:39 +0000 UTC]

I've heard from a number of people who've built the clocks, but I don't recall hearing of one that worked, or at least not very well. That the things *could* work at all is impressive enough.

DobbyKnits In reply to MikeHungerford [2007-02-10 21:42:23 +0000 UTC]

Duly noted. Think I'll give that project the wide berth, then. A huge investment in effort if it doesn't work well.
