You're too kind, thank you! We definitely won't settle without the happiest of things. We did spend 10 angsty years struggling to get here together after all.

aw, I can relate completely. Have you lived very far apart in the past?

MineralAccident In reply to TheMaidenInBlack [2014-06-05 14:42:09 +0000 UTC]
You can kind of say we've lived far apart in one way or the other for most of those 10 years. Just meeting her was entirely by strange luck. She and I were always meant to collide, I think, but it took a lot of time before our individual galaxies were at the right stage for that to happen. Before then we were always at different stages of cooking. We often had difficulties seeing eye to eye because of that and that conflict drove her away, even so far as the entire opposite side of the country at one point. We became the people we needed to be during those years of distance, and then we ran for each other (quite literally).
It was a hard thing to go through but I can say nothing has been more worth it than the love and friendship I have with her. Those are always worth struggling for, I believe.

It makes me think of how me and my husband met, too, and our story during the years.
as long as you believe that, you will be happy together.

Hey good sir. While I won't go as far in expressing it as this obviously crazy person who has commented below me - awww, y'all are way the hell too cute - I do very much appreciate the favorite on Ghosts on Magnetic Tape and can hardly convey how much it means to me to not only be read, but to be favorited and shown that my writing has achieved some kind of connection with the reader, but know that it means the world.
Hope your carnival weekend is super delightful, that the move goes smooth and is uneventful, and that you don't mind the strange amount of insight a complete stranger has into your schedule.
You're the man, all the best.

You and I are of a like mind then if you appreciate that unique connection. Your piece told a story that I have been familiar with for all of my life. Themes of darkness, silence, loneliness, and death. The contrast they provide for life and how one lives. There used to be a point where I was nothing but such ghosts in a machine. It was easy to appreciate your piece. It was unique and interesting and often impressive. It gave me the sense that you've looked in certain shaded corners I've taken a liking to myself. There simply aren't words for that kind of appreciation.
Carnival was fantastic. Hoping the move goes well too, but since I only have four boxes primarily of books to transfer it shouldn't be too difficult. As for strange insight from a complete stranger, you should know that's my favorite kind. Though I would say, you and I are likely strange, I don't think we would have much difficulty understanding each other at all.
You're fantastic. Thanks for invading my dark space.

I've been tape hiss for much of my life living in these droning cities, so I can tell and know that we share a connection. We do not carve for ourselves a new reality. I think that connection always exists between brothers bound, but it's certainly always nice to stumble upon another.
Did you notice our avatars are having a conversation? Light and darkness finding balance in the conversation of existence.

MineralAccident In reply to Carmalain7 [2014-06-04 15:45:14 +0000 UTC]
Hah, our avatars do seem to be doing that! "Balance in the conversation of existence" is appropriate. Some believe light is required to peer through the curtains of darkness. I've spent a lifetime surviving the dark places because I think you only understand the waking world once you've walked in the alleys. But really, each is just looking into the other sharing an unspoken, communal kind of spirit. Conversation of existence indeed!

You can't look from the light into the dark and expect to see, but you can always see into light from the dark. There's balance there, I think the dark gets associated unjustly with a lot of negative things; i think the dark has been framed.
