Thank I really am trying.  Though I haven't done much since thanksgiving. I learned that my brother's opinion of my work greatly affects my motivation to work.  He made one little comment (a negative comment that he has made before) and even though I told myself I wouldn't let it discourage me... it did.  I haven't been able to do anything since then.  (Though that's partly due to the time I have available, hoping to do something tonight) And I usually handle constructive criticism well, but from him....

He said "you are using the dodge and burn tool way too much"  *le sigh* I actually didn't use those tools at all, but looking at my work I can see how he thought I had.  I guess I just like how it looks, but to him it says "I'm an amateur artist that doesn't know what she's doing" *shrugs*  lol, the funny thing is, he first showed me the burn and dodge tool when I first started drawing digitally, then he turns around and says "don't use that!"

Anyways... Thanks   if you have any pointers for me, I'm all ears

Muffin, You'll improve as long as you keep trying..I get discouraged alot too...sometimes it stops me from working for a few weeks cause I don't have skin as thick as others...I guess it's something I have to learn to build along with my skills. Your brother is one person, it's okay to feel down, but know that your work is uniquely you - it's a child of your mind. If you love it, don't quit
Maybe look at the older works you've done and compare it to your latest - you'll see how far you've come, and it might even give you a boost in confidence! xD

Yea, I actually redrew something from seven years ago, just to see.  I was very happy with the results.

Alas, haven't drawn yet tonight... lol, was trying to get this durn da custom skins to work.  Try and spruce up my profile page.

I guess you could push yourself to draw when you have no motivation, but it's a little harder...I'm trying to train myself to do so...no luck so far haha

Ah, Thanks for the fav for the village too, it was actually an attempt to make a graphic for my groups village.  I wanted to make a village that could be navigated through shaped links over the image.  but DA doesn't allow complex HTML *le sigh* but I submitted it as a different Deviation to download a separate file (zipped txt file to be opened as html)
