I really want to back this, and while I can't provide much, what happens if the goal isn't met? What happens to the backings? (sorry, not too familiar with kickstarter)

On the other hand, I have spread the word about this, so hopefully your goals can be reached, even if only for the e-book!

If the goal isn't met, nothing happens. The money is just pledges at this point; for them to actually charge you the funding would have to meet it's goal.
If it fails, it's no big deal. I'll revamp a little and try again in a few months or so.
