I really love your arts made on the ipad ... I m making paintings too but they are made on my phone. The screen is 3.5 inches so it's harder to me but check my page and let me know what you think!

Thank you and thanks for all the faves I really appreciate the support.
I looked over your gallery and I think the results are amazing.
I certainly haven't been able to paint/sketch on my iPhone as I struggle with the small screen so well done for doing a great job with a 3.5" screen.

Hi
And thanx again for your help!, i wonder if you can tell me what stylus pen to use for Sketchbook pro on Ipad? is there any with a fine point that works?. I only have a stylus with a broad tip and its hard to see what your doing with it.
Mats

Hi Mats
Your welcome.
I personally use the Wacom Creative Stylus which has the pressure sensitivity but prior to that release I used their Wacom Stylus, both are a capacitive stylus but feature a smaller nib (compared to other capacitance styli).
It certainly isn't the same type of nib found on their graphic tablet stylus pens and still could be considered chunky if one compares it to a real pen/pencil nib.
But its smaller than my finger tip and once you get the hang of its input range size accurate strokes and points are incredibly easy to produce. Β
The iPad and the plethora of styli available (as well as other tablets/slates) get a bad rap for being poor creative solutions but I personally feel its a reflection on the person using them, anything can be used to produce great pieces of art and to do so we simply work to the strong points of them.
The best thing to do is to find the best pairing which you feel comfortable with and the one which gives you the most enjoyment from using, anything which causes high levels of anxiety or frustration will lower your desire to create. Β Have fun, draw and paint for the sheer fun of it regardless of the results, I'm sure you will be producing amazing paintings in no time

Good evening squire, it has indeed been far too long mate.
Things are going really well thanks, moved over at the beginning of October and been settling in nicely. Β Got married two weeks ago so the time up to that point was invested in getting everything organized and sorted but glad its over and I can now concentrate on some arty projects
And how are things with you matey, the life as a pro and are you both still in Canada?
Also what happened with Scatchy?

shinypants In reply to Mull-Art [2013-12-09 18:42:53 +0000 UTC]
Married?! Congratulations bud! Glad everything is working out nicely for you!
We are still in Canada... Β Nearly 3 years after we left for a 1 year holiday we are still here... Crazy what happens in this life I tells ya. My game job is still going well, been here for just over a year now. Learning lots and have a great team around me. No real time for personal artwork or motivation for that matter. Its hard.
In other news, we are expecting our first child in February which is going to be strange and cool all at the same time. Someone I can train in the ways of mecha's and lightsabres hopefully.
Have no idea what happened to Scatchy... no one was using it most likely... just paying for something that was a waste of money?

Thanks and CONGRATULATIONS to you two
Thats great news and I'm so incredibly happy for you both.
Still going strong in Canada, thats awesome and its great knowing your still learning
The wife wants me to head over to Bethesda Studios and offer my services as an intern until my status for work has completed, feels a little daunting thinking about doing that but no harm in trying eh.
I might drop CB a mail later as I haven't spoke to him since moving here and ask him what he's up to and what happened over at Scatchy, although I think your answers is the most likely mate.
Saw your new sub too, really digging it mate (more please )

Where abouts is Bethesda? Is that in Canada somewhere? Either way you should definitely do that. You'd be a great fit.
Hows it feel moving across the planet? Oh and hows the bionic parts coming?
Cheers about the new sub. I havent had much time for personal work but I have been uploading some really quick sketches to instagram recently instagram.com/ablackwe if ye be interested

Bethesda Studios have a few locations, the one I'm aiming for is in Rockville, Maryland which isn't too far away from me.
I've only just bought Photoshop again so I'm having to cobble some new work together in-between paying gigs and deadlines, but hope to have something presentable for them, if not I'll try the 'bribe then threaten' route lol
TBH the move wasn't as big a deal as I thought or as people built up I'd experience lol, but I think thats due to my many years contracting so the travel/living thing wasn't such a shock.
Both hips are superb, a few aches when the temperature drops in the minuses but they are still performing wonderfully lol.
Instagram, I've been looking at signing up but then decide against it, then go to do it and........well you get the idea. Β I shall venture over though and see what other wonderful new stuff you've put on show
Must be hard designing all day and then trying to find the time for your own work at home, especially when your expecting a child too as a pregnancy can be tough for both Mom & Dad.

No problem! Is it weird if I told you I fangirled a bit when you thanked me? Because I did fangirl a bit.
Lol.
I've been reading your tutorials on how to paint on the ipad, as the ipad is slowly and surely becoming my medium of choice for painting, and your ipad paintings are, in my humble opinion, some of the best ipad paintings out there. They're so good, they could shut anyone who's been sceptical about the iPad's abilities up! Also, I'll be purchasing your iBook! We definitely need more guide books on ipad painting. It's still a new and barely explored topic.

Mull-Art In reply to AisyaShurfa [2012-11-17 23:15:07 +0000 UTC]
Many thanks for the very kind words, you can fangirl all you want
I agree that many people have overlooked the true potential of the iPad as a useful tool for the artist.
Hopefully I'll have some new guides ready for new and existing iPad artists

Really love your iPad work. I have a variety of art apps such as SB pro, SB ink, procreate, and inspire pro, but I never get around to using them too much because I don't have a wacom stylus yet.

Mull-Art In reply to 8-BitNerd [2012-09-10 10:16:12 +0000 UTC]
Thanks very much
You dont need the Wacom for creating art, many of my friends dont even like the Wacom, you just have to find something which suits you and then create
The new update for SketchBook Pro now has 3rd party pen support if your interested in having a stylus with pressure sensitivity (Adonit Jot Touch, TenOne Pogo & Hex3 JaJa)

Any tips when using Sketchbook Pro?
And what brushes do you particularly use?
