Thanks man. And I checked your stuff out as well and I can only say . . . SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS!!!! Amazing work!!! I'm totally digging the fact that you don't shy away from using any yellow. It really unifies your work into a consistent world of it's own. Also, it looks like I met someone who's just as much in to the dramatic lighting as myself, probably more so on your part. And it looks as if you utilize "film grain" (or something similar) as well, which is a style I'm getting more into myself. Very fun my ice cream loving friend, very fun.

I guess subconsciously that's my direction. I'm sure there's some psychology to it, but whatever is going on in that brain of mine, I pretty happy about it. Thank you for the comment. Hope to see more up on your gallery soon.

It's because I am french, I was lucky to move to the US and learn English.
I haven't been back in almost 6 years! If only plane tickets were less expensive...

Yeah, those can kinda be a pain. But, all in all it's pretty cool to meet a full blooded "french" person.

No problem. Just out of curiousity, I see a lot of people with rendered bottles. I've given this approach much thought but really haven't experimented with it aside from a quick Illustrator 3D render. Any pointers that don't involve a 3D program?
π: 0 β©: 1
elnurbabayev In reply to MyNameIsBrilliant [2010-11-17 09:26:26 +0000 UTC]
oh it is 3d render, but the design on it vector illustration, did you mean that? (:

MyNameIsBrilliant In reply to elnurbabayev [2010-11-17 10:10:02 +0000 UTC]
The actual bottle more or less. I knew going into this, I would want to do a 3D rendered model of some sort for the bottle. Unfortunately, I only have Adobe CS 4. Oh well, perhaps I'll figure something out.

I can't wait to see what you have in store for the next contest. I already did an entry for the Scott Pilgrim contest and it's under the name...
Chris Chance vs. Scott Pilgrim. I hope you like and hopefully I will be able to make a design for the laptop cover!

Last question................I promise --
What do you use Photoshop and Illustrator?
I put a feature in my profile, I will do that every week with the art that Impressive me the most.
ok ...... thanks so much

MyNameIsBrilliant In reply to skylark-caricatures [2010-08-12 19:40:19 +0000 UTC]
Hey no problem, and THANK YOU!!! That's a sweet honor. Uhm, to answer your question, most of my stuff is done in photoshop. I was really big on illustrator when I began my digital art and I guess I still find to be a great tool, but honestly photoshop has 10 fold the creative possibilities, and since I began working on it I rarely use illustrator. However, I do use illustrator as a first step in my final production of my animal pieces, namely for making basic shapes and figuring out my placement of everything. But, seriously, feel free to ask any questions you may have. Always nice to give a hand. Oh, and your charicature pieces are amazing. That was always something I was obsessed with growing up, and it never really was my forte. But you seem to have nailed it on the head. Wonderful work. And thank you for the llama badge. Of course, I still have NO clue what the meaning is behind them, so maybe you could fill me in. Anyway, gotta run. I'll talk to you soon.

It is just a cute friendly way to demonstrate support in the community. It is a way of saying I like your work, the more llama you get , the more "popular" "liked you are.
Llamas cost no money so they are easy to give, points are another way of showing appreciation but it costs money.
To my dismay I started giving points to artist I loved, and admired. And now hundreds of visitors give me llamas as an exchange for points ...I really dislike that, because it is not my work, they want me to give them points. sad. So no more points....too bad
I only tell you this so it does not happen, when you start giving points away, it is like when you feed a seagul hundreds suddenly show up.
take it easy, I am really so happy to be able to talk and ask questions.
Thanks
