# About me

A creative soul. I long to create beautifull, important and empowering images that really tell a story, make an important statement or reach out to someone.
I also enjoy the challenge of working on commisions, I love to help others express themselves or see themselves differently wether it be turning someones child in to a magical fairy or simply retouching an image. It brings me joy.
My work is deeply inspired by the spiritual, the primal and the wilds. Nature has long been my biggest passion and i have dedicated most of my life to its protection, travelling the world to its wildest places in an attempt to help them. I long to inspire respect for the wilds, for the world that lies underneath our own society and if i can do that through my artwork then all the better.
I am also fascinated by psychology and spirituality and feel this deeply inspires my art as well or at least hope that one day it will. The fact that we can take something from the depths of our mind and turn it into a tangible work of art is a wonderful form of personal expression. I am a huge appreciator of anyone that can share this part of themselves with us through our art. Sometimes the wild places are not around us but within us....
Creativity is important, it is not just a realease, a form of expression but also a secret shared. Creativity is not just food for the soul but also fuel for the imagination which in turn inspires dreams and dreams can change the world. Rejoice in the freedom of creation and inspire....

At this point in time my creativity takes the form of digital artwork and when i have the time traditional painting but i am also allways willing to try new things and explored traditional skills (leatherworking, woodworking and such) through my hobbies of being a viking and medieval reenactor. I have also been very lucky to explore and express myself in more contemporary mediums such as photography and artistic modelling. My professional modelling site can be found here on deviant art nightphoenixfire.deviantart.co… and on Model Mayhem: www.modelmayhem.com/NightPhoen…

It's really nice of you to add my simple and plain naalbinding cap to your collection of all those awesome historical crafts, thanks. Β

I was really inspired by it, the colours are fantastic. I have tried nalbinding a few times and never managed to finish a project (I have a sock and a half) so highly respect the patience, skill and dedication that must have gone into your work.

Hi there! Thank you for showing an interest in my work. I noticed you had added my gauntlet to a collection of yours named Historical Craft. I would just like to clarify that the gauntlet is not historically correct. Sorry to disappoint.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NightPhoenixArt In reply to Mandrakil [2013-04-20 11:41:59 +0000 UTC]

Haha thanks for that and its ok i recognised it was inauthentic but your leatherworking falls loosely within the genre of historical crafts if not accuracy. I do viking reenactment and have authenticity drilled into me it would seem

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Mandrakil In reply to NightPhoenixArt [2013-04-20 14:08:46 +0000 UTC]

Viking reenactment is exactly what I made the gauntlet for. You gotta have some good hand protection. I was hit while wearing a leather gauntlet without any form of padding and the result can be seen in my gallery :/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NightPhoenixArt In reply to Mandrakil [2013-04-20 17:43:14 +0000 UTC]

can be nasty. I am going to make some leather mittins to cover up old motorbike gloves for extra protection. I have a crap hand. What group are you with?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Mandrakil In reply to NightPhoenixArt [2013-04-20 19:52:20 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like a good idea. I've heard about ice hockey gloves being used the same way.
I am with the newly started Nidhug group in Hobro, Denmark. We have ties to quite a few other groups. Personally, I know people from Fyrkat and Ulfhednir.
I have also trained with the Danelaw group in Sydney, Australia.
