Yeah, Chishiki Wa Chikara, Knowledge is power. I have it embroided on one of my black belts. Personal motto, lol...

I have been studying (and teaching) several arts- Karate was first, but then I got into Jujitsu, Judo, Aikido, and Iaido. Iaido is a bit like Kendo but it's not a sport. Martial arts are another passion of mine. You can get belts in just about anything, lol...

Well I know you could master things like flower arranging and the tea ceremony. No reason why mastering an instrument shouldn't apply too! You know how to play the bagpipes?

So are you Scottish but living in Germany? Or German who just loves the bagpipes? I played trumpet for about 10 years, was quite good, but haven't played in a long time.

I have been to Scotland 3 times, some of the best weeks of my life. One of my great grandparents was Scottish too, so I feel a bit of a bond with that area. Two of my great grandparents were German, so I am twice as much German as Scottish lol. I can recommend a lot of beautiful places, let me know when you go back and I will tell you.

scottish AND german ancestors?? yay! awesome mixture!
i already was in scotland twice, so i know a bit what awaits me....during our first trip (with our bagpipes-band) in 2003 we visited the orkneys and it was just amazin....especially the "ring of brodgar" *o*

Yeah, another one of my interests is genealogy. I am 1/4 English, 1/4 German, 1/8 Scottish, 1/8 Irish, 1/8 Italian, and 1/8 French. I have never seen the Orkneys (yet). I did spend a week in the outer Herbrides on the Isle of Lewis and Harris, so I can imagine what it's like. I also spent a week in eastern Scotland (Fife) and the first time I went I spent a week driving in a big circle all around the outside of Scotland. It's fantastic, though there are lots of places in Germany I want to see as well...

yes....there are a lot of nice places in germany i want to see, too.....switzerland is really nice as well!!! *loves switzerland*
