I really don't understand your leave, but I respect your choice to do so.
I mean everyone gets insulted or gets a negative comment once in a while. No real reason to get all upset and just pack up. Not everyone who sees the stuff you draw is doing to be all peaches and cream about it, you have to expect some flames.
Your one of the artists I know who hasn't been spammed yet, and that is actually rare. Nobody can expect they won't get bad critiques. You just have to deal with it and move on. Opinions are expressed no matter what. Yeah, there are pricks out there, doesn't mean you have to be one as well.
Just saying what I feel.

My Rebuttle:
I can see why you always toggle the criticism box to "Discouraged". You obviously can't take a little negative commenting, Whinge. I'm not even giving my full criticism about your art because I'm trying to respect that little "Discouraged" noticed, for whatever reason you may have that toggled. Either way, I'm simply expressing my opinion, not the opinion of the masses. Seriously...if you're going to let one, single, solitary negative comment out of a hundred positive comments ruin your day, then you simply aren't cut out for the art world.
To be perfectly honest, for the most part, I really do like your art and avatars. Expressing my opinion again, you need to calm your ass down and think about what you're writing before you write it. My comments -- my comments, not criticism -- are to be taken lightly. For example, back when you were doing all those "posters," I was just screwing with you when you finally posted some non-poster art by saying "Well, whaddaya know... Some non-poster art! I'll be damned!" If you took that comment as me saying "Your poster art sucks and I'm glad to see you post something else for a change," well...that's not how I meant it at all and I'm sorry you apparently took that comment as such. As for my other comments...as I said. Take them lightly. I'm not speaking for anyone but myself, mate. I'm sorry if it's such a stab to your fragile ego that I didn't like these pair of avatars, but as I've said repeatedly...I'm just expressing my opinion.
In closing, remember... "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time." As such, don't expect all your work to be beloved by everyone all of the time.

Man, I just had the idea to check on NW's art for once in several weeks and, well, it's disappointing that this is the state of affairs.
But I don't blame you, JosephCollins, It's really that NW is insecure or something and cannot take any slightly critical commentary whatsoever. Once NW sketched something for me and when I offered my two cents on it I recieved a rather nasty response. At least I saved it on my HD. So yeah, NW's always been like this, and probably always will be. If it wasn't you, JC, then it would have been some other person that dropped the 5th or 6th straw to break NW's back.
Wish this sort of thing didn't happen to you, JC.
And I wish that NW had thicker skin.
Anyway, just voicing my support for JoesephCollins. I think that the fanboys/girls are just jumping at you in anger when it isn't really your fault.

Your 'comments' as you call them, are always gonna be construed as critiques if given in negativity.
Plain and simple rule of thumb to avoid getting many others flaming you for this kind of thing: If critiques aren't asked for and you don't like the pic, just don't comment.

Your cricitism on Whinge's art was less than helpful. When you critique, try to point out what exactly needs improving, and be more specific.
However, Whinge had no right to tell you to screw a rusty dildo, and they honestly need to get over themselves.

Well, the thing about that is...nine times out of ten, he set his "Criticism" thing to "Criticism Discouraged". As such, I was trying to obide by that by expressing my opinion without really critiquing his art, if that makes any sense. Sometimes, I slipped and ended up critiquing it anyway, though. Oh well.
