I was told Instagram is good for being discovered with art, and I think it does work well with the hashtags, but so far I haven't had the kind of luck people told me I'd have.
Twitter can be good for getting your art seen, because people can retweet it, but I've noticed that it's rare that people actually +follow you after viewing it.
It's rough out there, being an artist and trying to be found. D; But I guess having accounts on either can't hurt!
If you do get an account on either of those, let me know! It's been awesome talking to you!

HONESTLY it is a LOT of duck-faces and lunches, which is why it's hard to be seen as an artist, but if you ARE seen, amazing things can happen. It's all a matter of waiting for everything to line up perfectly - you made a good artwork, posted it at a good time of day, the right person retweeted it, etc. I wish websites like this were still popular, where ALL your watchers are notified when you post something and they'll all at LEAST see the thumbnail, but people are moving on to places like Twitter, where our art can be totally missed by like 90% of our followers and it has to compete with posts about people's pets or memes or duck-faces...
It's rough, but we have to at least try!!
And you too!!!!

Yeah i agree qwq sadly DA has just died over the past couple years-- i blame the admins for it though, they've let it turn into a cess pool of hate and drama and don't regulate anything, then they dumped eclipse on everyone like a giant turd no one asked for. Doesnt matter if they make it better a year from now (eclipse i mean) it stands now that it'a buggy and very restricting.
But thanks ~ hope youre day is going good today!

Ahh yeah I tried to adapt to Eclipse and couldn't. -_-
If dA could implement something like a "reblog" feature like Twitter has, that would really help artists a lot. Otherwise...it was working as it was, maybe don't fix what isn't broken? D;

Oh is that true? That explains a lot. -_- I was wondering why some people seem so frustrated - I guess they can't switch back!
I kind of prefer a uniform style to everyone's pages, and to not have to feel like in addition to making good art, you must also worry about coding and designing your page in order to appeal to folks out there*, BUT, I'd also feel bad forcing everyone to have to have a uniform look if they want to spice things up a bit, so I'm not sure how I wish things were. :/
*As might be made obvious by the fact that I haven't updated in mine in, I swear to you, 7 entire years - I figured, if my art is good enough people will +follow, but it bugs me to think people also judge layouts/coding/design!

Yup, I know it's rolling out for everyone eventually, and I'm kind of hoping that by then, the problems I was having with it will be fixed. -_-
YEAH, stamps were a good way to sort out who's who, I don't mind those. I'm talking more about color coordination, "cleanliness", etc - I'd rather people judge me by my art than by my design skills. I started off my career studying graphic design, but as soon as I found out what it actually was, boy did I rebel against it, and I'd hate to have to be good at it in order for people to even give my gallery a second glance.
If Eclipse works in such a way that it helps us all be seen better or share art, I'm all for it (that's why people have moved to Twitter - it's easier for your works to be "spread" there), but of course I hope that whatever it's like in its final version is comfortable for everyone.
