Of course, I'm always here - I just don't say much.
I want to write something So Bad, but its so hard to find time...
I need to keep a diary or something, force myself to write every day.
...Blek.

Tons of things to read?
What about picking 30 minutes(or less, depending of how busy you are) only for writing? I don't know, like a little break at X hour or something. That works sometimes

I've been meaning to do that, actually. Maybe I'll write something new every weekend - who knows.
There's also a chance I might make a separate account and just start filling it with improvised writing.
Either way, I better write something or I'll explode. That is, unless someone buys me an iPad. I'd really like an iPad.
PS. Way to go on your recent artwork! I see the tablet is working out well! (You wanted a tablet for the exact reason i want an Ipad ^ ^)

iPad? Never heard of them (and if I did, it was surely with a different name)

They aren't even for sale yet! They only got announced like.. 3 days ago. But I still want one! Just a big tablet-thing that can run all sorts of applications. Looks terrific for reading and note-taking!
..I have been a student for far too long.

Hey, stop talking to yourself, looks so... strange!
Just hope you're enjoying the tour , I think I'll do the same and go on an amazing and full-of-adventure trip to... the market (my fridge is empty).
Go spend all your money and don't forget of taking millions of photos to send me later! ^^

Is it wrong that two of my greatest literary influences are Tatsuya Ishida and Jerry Holkins? Is it weird that Jhonen Vasquez's text (blogs, journals), and not his imagery, is what inspires most the things I create?

Well, the fact that I'm talking to myself on my OWN WALL surely offers some clue.

It's nice to run into somebody on here with such a great ability to communicate their actual thoughts. Is English your first language? (I kind of hope so) because yours is better then mine.
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Orpheline-K In reply to KD-Neeley [2009-03-25 21:25:28 +0000 UTC]
hey Thanks! English is indeed my first language, though I don't write per se: I just sit reeeally close to the microwave for a while, then yell at the computer.
Compliments like that are what keep me going! Soon I will just start asking random people what I should write about.
ps. that artwork in your gallery? wicked stuff.

Why not ask yourself what to write about? Nobody could tell you better, what should come out of your head, then you

Uhm... go and check my gallery?
I like to draw monsters and dragons, but also some anime-style things. Now I'm doing backgrounds with photoshop to learn about composition and color balances. Iยดm doing it very well for being someone who was never instructed ^^.

very cool, Photoshop is Immensely deep. Perhaps I will try my hand at writing some fantasy - I'm going to Attempt (attempt!) to write something every couple days or so. We'll see how long I can stick to it.

Truly spoken. Great works also come for me when its late at night, and I'm abroad somewhere. For me, though, writing isn't the same as visual art was: I could never push visual art. Writing seems to pour out whenever it wants to, though. What inspires fantasy art?

alexameyer In reply to Orpheline-K [2009-03-22 22:02:48 +0000 UTC]
You have a point: the writing is more flowing than the drawing.
I didn't understand the question: what does inspire me to make fantasy art or which sources help someone to make it?

Orpheline-K In reply to alexameyer [2009-03-22 22:04:46 +0000 UTC]
What inspires, what pushes you onwards to fantasy?

alexameyer In reply to Orpheline-K [2009-03-22 22:11:22 +0000 UTC]
The most important source (for me)is music: medieval rock (Rhapsody, Therion, Avantasia, etc) and a lot of operas, specially Mozart's ones. Movies and games are of great help, too. But I guess the highest percent is put by my great imagination. ^^

Orpheline-K In reply to alexameyer [2009-03-22 22:22:08 +0000 UTC]
I find the same thing! Operatic rock works very well indeed for bringing out dragons, dungeons, etc. What I listen to tends to affect when I write fairly deeply actually..

It's the more helpful genre when it's time to find inspiration.

Orpheline-K In reply to alexameyer [2009-03-22 22:30:35 +0000 UTC]
Its true. Back when I made music, fiction helped inspire that too, so I suppose it works both ways.

Yup! For example, Aker was made while I was listening to Dies Irae (third part of the Requiem)

and I once made a concept album based on Orwell's 1984. I've been listening to a lot of psychobilly lately.. erm, no idea what that'll inspire.

Orpheline-K In reply to alexameyer [2009-03-22 22:49:11 +0000 UTC]
well, Orwell's 1984 was the book that inspired my music, so that part would be tough.
The music I actually made ended up coming out much more like Nine Inch Nails' "Ghosts" album, actually.

alexameyer In reply to Orpheline-K [2009-03-22 23:03:00 +0000 UTC]
I heard a lot of good critics about that book and now I'm wanting to read it.
It's been a while since I don't hear anything of NIN! I didn't even know they got new album. It's just that my music likings are changing all the time and lost a lot of interest in bands I loved, for example, six months ago.

Ghosts is way out there for Nails, which is why I loved it. Its basically just ambient electronic music, wonderful stuff for art. I try to stay as open as possible about music; if its creative enough, it gets on my list.
