It cannot be said that Yami is extremely protective of Yugi, he actually is. Him and Yugi share a very close bond which is close to a Father and Son or Brothers. He cares for Yugi and wouldn't want to do anything to harm him but Yami can also be seen as somewhat awkward and naΓ―ve, it could be said.Yami has some very charming and charismatic traits about him. He is usually quite determined and a strong speaker, usually not lacking in speaking to others, he also is quiet when it comes to secrets having many of his own and also tending to be very uninviting when others [apart from Yugi] when they enter the rooms of his mind, usually setting up a lot of traps to trap people into a dark abyss.
Yami also tends to have a more awkward and teenage personality when speaking to Tea or sometimes other people. He doesn't really explain why he just does but he also has been learning things from Yugi such as how to turn on a light, mobile phones, toasters and such. He does call it progress but he still can't tie shoe laces.
Yami also possesses extremely powerful shadow magic but never uses it for a greedy intention usually only ever using it as a punishment to people who hurt the innocent. His shadow magic is rarely forced as he has learnt how to fully control it.
