I came to your page on a google search based on my dissatisfaction on WhyAreWerewolfDesignsSoLame and, DoesAnyoneActuallyDesignGoodWerewolves. Its a design choice I made specifically so that he wouldn't be too adorable and hard to take seriously. If he had a tail he would be 100% cute puppy and it would be difficult to tell certain stories. Especially since I already like to draw silly things a lot.
Β I find that overall people who like werewolves/animals/furries find tails on wolf characters aesthetically pleasing. Not adding a tail is more suggesting of an unnatural creature, which is what I want.
Β Also, giving werewolves a human torso structure (or a bodybuilder body) and a tail is very common is various comics/movies/tv/cartoons I've seen and, personally, I am kind of bored of it.
An important thing also I want to enforce is that Sam isn't a cute dog, he's a transformed human (who happens to look like a cute dog).
Β His transformed features are meant to be analogous to his human features more or less.
I used to get this question multiple times, and to be clear, I am not going to add a tail to Sam.
Β Maybe in a different setting where the depiction of werewolves is meant to mean something different, I might pin the tail on the werewolf. But it's not going to be in Wolf Country (the current title of the story that Sam belongs to).

Huh? Oh, lol. I've never thought of opening commissions because I've no safe system for payment set up (I won't take DA points, I have no use for them), I don't know how to price my work, and I'm so unreliable with drawing and deadlines thanks to real life it'll probably drive people nuts if their money was involved.
I have drawn stuff and gotten paid in Team Fortress 2 items before though. LOL.
