Aww... what about using GTalk? That supports GTalk and AIM and ICQ. And it runs in GMail.. so you don't need another program, just a web browser.

i actually tried that with another friend and we couldn't get it to work right. it kept dropping messages and stuff. But I can give you the email I use on there
