Whoops, you spotted my vanity! >///< I wondered what everyone else's were like! I REALLY like yours, though - you certainly didn't pick an easy way out!

x3 Well, thank you! I totally do that too sometimes xD
Actually, I chose it because I thought it would be the easiest of the designs for her! But I probably did go about making it in a needlessly complicated way, that always seems to happen >>

Oh, I know I only made a sloppy version of her outfit, but even if I had a lot of time I think I'd still do Peregrine Mendicant by making a dress and pulling seams into the structure after it was made. I was never sure if it was meant to be proper rags or not, but it hangs like a full garment. I would have thought that Parcel Mistress was harder to do no matter how you go about it! The padding and lining, the stripes... the whole thing looks like a nightmare, to be honest.

Well, her original rags were a banner to begin with, so the most accurate way to make them would be to try and replicate that shape with a piece of cloth in the shape of a banner. I don't know how that would work out though. xD That method of altering a dress is definitely the most popular method I've seen though, and it always looks pretty good in the end!
Yeah, but they had pretty simple solutions, I found. The stripes are easily painted on, and the only somewhat difficult part was distributing the stuffing correctly through the puffs.

Dang! I guess I missed that while I was late-night marathoning the story. I remembered that WV's were bedsheets, so I thought I'd roll with that for her too (related: I am poor). Anyway, you did an amazing job with the painting and such - I could never trust myself to keep it that neat.

It's the same basic concept :3 And you pulled it off well enough, so it works!
Thank you! xD I used painter's tape to keep the lines straight o3o. And actually my skirt has a lot of paint running on it because I was using regular masking tape and watered down paint and it bled through pretty badly in some spots ><

I've never heard of painter's tape, though I think I can guess what that is and how it works. What a sensible thing to discover the existence of!

Yes! It's made for working on walls and solid stuff, so you have to be really careful when using it on fabric so it doesn't weirdly crease or bunch up. But it was SO useful for those stripes o3o

I'd always wondered if it could be done with electrical tape, but that sounds much more practical. I'm leeeearning!

x3 It probably could, but painter's tape is a lot cheaper and easier. And it's less sticky, so it won't ruin delicate fabrics or anything either :3

Actually, that's totally who I'm named for! I've been pretty inactive in LOTR fandom for the last few years, but it'll always be very important to me. I adore Pippin, because he's so young in the books - he goes through so much and comes out of it so strong, and still laughing at everything.
Plus he names his son Faramir, which is incongruous and hilarious.

^ 3^ Omg yay! I LOVE LOTR. I didn't read the books but I did see the hobbit before LOTR came out and my mom read the books so I just mooch info off of her lol. Pippin's one of my favorites too. He has this unique brand of wisdom because it comes in such simple forms.

You should TOTALLY read the books.
I like film!Pippin, but he really is a very different character to book!Pippin. I don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but I think there's quite a lot of class-based humour that went into writing his character originally.
