There's one case of an ad hominem that is ALWAYS a fallacy:
The favorite atheistic "you're religious, hence you are an uneducated idiot and your religiousness is borne solely out of scientific ignorance".
Notes:
1. This often comes from people who themselves show zero knowledge of even the most basic science like biology or physics.
They just chose to believe it with the same zeal that a religious fanatic feels towards their religion.
2. There are quite a few scientists who are religious, and religious leaders with a university degree in science.
The two have no counter-correlation, unlike what atheistic fanatics believe it to be.
3. Even if the religious side actually is quite uneducated, that doesn't mean that the atheist side has any valid points based on actual science in the discussion to begin with.
More than often, it literally boils down to a cat-fight between "snobbish science thumper atheists" -vs- "arrogant holy-than-you fanatic theists".
Neither being the RIGHT side objectively - yet going at a full-out insult-a-fest all over the text.
So, yeah, just wanted to share this point.

Huh, you know I was just thinking "I should contact some people I havent' contacted in a while" and here you are^^
No, I haven't used it yet. Sadly, I'm the kind of person who has a difficult time going from concept to finished work. I mean, instead of actually starting to write or draw the images and stories in my head I've been a bit too comfortable just brainstorming them D: I sort of started to write a random short story (more as an excercise) a while ago but I'm not sure if I'll ever finish it.

Hey River, I've just remembered that you where interested in me as a beta reader a while ago.
So, I've thought about it and I'd actually be down for that. Maybe reading early drafts of someone elses stuff helps me with my own writing.
So if you have any manuscripts that you still need people to look over for I'd be interested.

Sorry I suck so much at writing back. I would LOVE to have you as a beta reader. I have two books ready for beta reading, one I'm still in the middle of, and one that's actually being sold on amazon as an ebook already. I have two other finished books you could read, but I want to finish editing them first. I'm switching them from past tense to present, which takes WAY more work than I want but it sounds a lot better.
Anyways, if you are interested, please send me your email and I'll send you a couple manuscripts I can't wait to read your work someday!!!

The story is more of an excercise to see how my writing skills are since I've NEVER wrote any kind of story before. So far it looks decent enough for a first draft even though it's not done yet. Also, it has accidental dildo imagery in it... yeah, I didn't noticed how my description comes off until relatively late in the writing process.
Watching videos on writing also helps. I've however noticed that in the US, writing techniques I learned in middle school seem to be taught primarily at universities as advanced writing.
And the problem with a story idea of mine is mostly just that I want to make it as a comic and I don't really have the proper skills yet to actually do that.
I'd actually like to put my system to the test and maybe I'll read one of your books one day.

You're welcome
Sry, for forgetting to give suggestions for your face off project :C Miracleman btw is now a Marvel character so it'll be difficult to find someone for him. But I'd suggest Image Comic's Invincible, Mark Grayson. He's a Viltrumite, kinda like a Saiyan from Dragonball, and like Miracleman his powers grow constantly so they could work well against eachother.

Garoooooh In reply to PotatoOni [2014-12-13 17:47:54 +0000 UTC]
No problem.
So far I'm still planning on matching Miracleman with Marvel's Capt. Marvel, even though they're both Marvel now.
I'll look into Invincible. I was planning on making a picture with him, but I'm not sure who would be the best match. If not Miracleman then someone else, possibly another younger, newer superhero.

PotatoOni In reply to Garoooooh [2014-12-26 22:02:13 +0000 UTC]
They don't match in power level (not by the longest long shot) but if you want to pair Invincible with a younger superhero, how about the current Ms. Marvel. She has morphing and stretching powers and can gain super strenght by growing larger. Supergirl could also work. And for Miracleman the Avatar could work being pretty much godlike him-/herself. Son Goku could also work for him given that he's the most powerful guy ever.

Garoooooh In reply to PotatoOni [2015-01-02 16:28:42 +0000 UTC]
Invincible and Ms. Marvel actually sound like a good match. I'll put them on my list for now; I'll still have to wait and see if the new Ms. Marvel has any staying power. She might end up being one of those characters that gets killed off whereas Invincible is a more established character.
I have been trying to think of a match for Goku, but I still haven't found the right one. I was trying to think of either a supremely powerful character like Miracleman or someone who is also based on Monkey from Journey to the West.
Any suggestions for Silver Surfer? Captain Atom or Green Lantern might have been good matches for him, but I matched them elsewhere already. Maybe Space Ghost?
I've been trying to match the flying characters, but I'm not sure who with who. So far I have Marvel's Falcon, Angel from X-Men, Hawkman (and Hawkgirl as well eventually), and Birdman (from the cartoon).
Probably I'll go with Falcon and Hawkman, Angel and Birdman.
Batwing might have been a good match for Falcon, since Batwing is kind of like a flying Batman just as Falcon is the flying Captain America, but again Batwing is not as established as Falcon yet.

PotatoOni In reply to Garoooooh [2015-01-04 15:34:12 +0000 UTC]
To be perfectly honest, despite me liking the comic so far I don't think that Ms Marvel will have a lot of staying power. Marvel CONSTANTLY comes up with new characters only to ditch them after a while and the forget about them completly. They don't get killed or get a send off otherwise, they just disappear. Most likely when their creator stops working on the series. The X-Men are especially notorious for this with tons of characters being created by dozens of writers just to end up forgotten. For instance, Kamala is not the first Muslim Marvel hero. That honor actually goes to the X-Men member Dust but everyone forgot about her and I only know about her because some people on the internet brought her up. I would say she'll have a stable fanbase but her book will most likely get cancelled at some point.
Matching the flying characters? Then you might consider Prince Voltan from the Flash Gordon comics and movie serials. He was the "inspiration" for Hawkman and was played by Brian Blessed, the loudest man in the world, in the 80s Flash Gordon movie.
I thought we already had the Silver Surfer? That guy is a bit difficult because he's appearently one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel universe. Miracleman could come close again but then you would have way too many options for him. From what I can tell Space Ghost would be a bit too weak. He seems to posses super strenght of an uncertain level (looks like Aquaman level to me wich means he can lift about 60 tons) and the power to blast things into oblivion but I'm not sure if this would work against the Silver Surfer who is protected by the power of Galactus. I personally would once again suggest the Avatar , who at one point is said to have limitless power, or DC's Orion who is Darkseids good guy son. Yet another alternative, that however strays very very far from the whole comic/video game theme of your series, would be the Emporer of Mankind of the Warhammer 40k tabletop and roleplay setting. He is ridicously powerful and might be a good opponent for the really big superheros and villains.

Maybe if she makes an appearance in a movie or TV show, she'll stand a greater chance of survival. She does seem quite popular for a new character, but only time will tell.
I did read some comics with Dust, but she is not at the forefront of any X-Men comics anymore as far as I can tell, so I doubt I'll need to make a picture with her any time soon.
I saw the Flash Gordon movie some years ago, and I remember Vultan. I guess it does make sense that he was the inspiration for Hawkman since they are both aliens. I'll put them together; that still leaves Falcon, Angel and Birdman ( plus Hawkgirl and Batwing if necessary). I might match Falcon with Red Robin, again because they are both sidekicks.
Of your suggestions the one I'm leaning towards is Orion since he is also a 'cosmic' character, but I also think Space Ghost would be an okay match even if he isn't at the Surfer's power level.
Another character that might be worth considering is the Spectre. He is comparable to the Surfer in some ways, but the problem is that he is a supernatural character, not a sci-fi character like Orion or Space Ghost .
I wouldn't mind using the characters from tabletop miniature or role-play games; I'm just not familiar with them. I plan on making a picture with Drizzt, but he's really the only character I know from the world of fantasy games.
There are probably quite a few characters from Warhammer and Dungeons and Dragons that could be matched with each other and also with characters from Warcraft. In turn Warhammer 40k could be matched with Starcraft.
I’m open to any suggestions on these characters.

There is a movie featuring Marvel's current Cpt. Marvel coming up so there is a possibility that Kamala get's hinted at in one way or another. Also Disney does Marvel cartoons (wich frankly aren't that good as far as I'm concerned :/) so she might appear in one of those aswell.
Falcon and Tim Drake could fit well since his current glider costume seems to work similiary to Falcons. Don't know that much about Batwing (only that he's a bit cliched :/) but I would put him together with Angel wich leaves Hawkgirl with Birdman.
Regarding the Spectre: to be fair, in superhero comics supernatural and sci-fi stuff heavily blend into eachother. So the Surfer and the Spectre could go well with eachother.
For Warhammer and it's spinoff 40k I would recommend the Lexicanum wich is a community made wiki with a ton of background information to both settings. You might find something there to match it with any character. Both settings however aren't really about characters and more about huge battles and ongoing warfare with named characters being usually nothing more than very powerful units with bare bones characterization. There is however alot of supplemental material like novels that features actual characters like Gotrek & Felix and Inquisitor Eisenhorn . Didn't read any of them though so I don't know if they're actually good. Basicly if you plan to match Warhammer with D&D you should look for characters from these materials so you actually have something interesting to match up.
Incidentaly the designs of Blizzard's Craft games are heavily inspred by both Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. Starcrafts Protos, Terrans and Zerg for instance are inspired by 40k's Eldar, Adeptus Astardes and Tyranids respectively.

She could also appear in a video game. I think the most likely option is that she’s put into the cartoons.
I’m not sure about the other flying character matches since besides having wings they don’t really have much in common. Anyway Hawkman was the most important of these, and he’s been matched now. I can get back to them later. Batwing might also end up being a character that DC leaves behind.
I’ll put the Surfer and the Spectre in my list; I have many other matches to do before I get to them so if I want to change it later I can do so.
I’ll try using the Lexicanum and hopefully it will give me an overview of which characters are important enough to warrant consideration. I know about the various armies and their units, but I know little about the characters that play major roles in the story. I know even less about Dungeons and Dragons, besides what is in the Drizzt comics.
I have played Warcraft, but I’ve never played Starcraft. I did notice there were many similarities between them and the two Warhammer games so there should be some character matches as well.
All of these (Warhammer, Warcraft, Dungeons and Dragons) have many novels detailing the story, so I'll need to sort through all the info to find who to make use of. I might match Gotrek with Gimli from Lord of the Rings, unless I find a better match in something else.
Do you read any Image or Dark Horse comics? I don’t know them as well as I know Marvel and DC, but I’ve been trying to match some of their characters.
Either Witchblade or Angela (who now belongs to Marvel) will go up against Bayonetta (from the Capcom game).
I’m trying to decide if Hellboy should be matched with Daimon Hellstrom or John Constantine. Maybe those two should be matched with each other and Hellboy should fight someone else.

It's highly possible that DC will forget about Batwing quickly. They already replaced the original African Batwing with Luke Fox, the son of Batman supporting character Lucius Fox. It seems that this character was merely created to increase the amount of black superheros in the DCU. It's just an assumption from me but from what I see it seems to be true. It seem that for the same reason Wally West is now a black street punk and Cyborg joined the Justice League despite having nothing to offer for the team that Batman or the Flash couldn't provide aswell. It's fine if they wan't more black superheros but then they should really put more effort in them -.-
The only Image comic I've read so far is Invincible. And from Dark Horse I've read only a few licensed titles like Alien vs. Predator (infinitely superior to those god awful movies), a bit Star Wars stuff, an anthology comic featuring some of their stuff and Conan the Barbarian. I also read IDW's My Little Pony series and a bit of their Star Trek comics.
Most things I can tell you about Image I've learned from watching comic reviews and it mostly concerns the really old Image stuff. And that stuff was really stupid. Basicly the creators back then looked at Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns and deduced that those comics are popular because they're grim and violent so the early Image stuff was just that and barely had any consistent story telling. This actually brings me to another superhero I didn't read yet but whom you could feature: Alan Moore's Tom Strong. Moore created the character to as an homage to pulp and golden age comics and as an light hearted alternative to his previously very grim and deconstructive body of work (here is a video of him talking about that). He is basicly the Golden Age Superman mixed with Flash Gordon and Doc Savage.
Warhammer and 40k don't have that much of a story. The lore is extensive in both systems comparebly to Lord of the Rings or the Star Wars expanded Universe (40k even has entire source books dedicated to describing Imperial equidment) but it's more to give the players and idea of the world this all takes place in and not to tell them stories. Wich is why I recommended you to look through the novel characters. From what I can tell D&D is extremly story and continuity heavy so this should work. And Gotrek & Felix are a duo so I might suggest to find another Duo for them to fight. So I'd say pit Gimly AND Legolas against both Gotrek and Felix. In both chases it's a dwarf and a blonde guy against eachother.
Witchblade and Bayonetta seem right to me. I don't know much about these characters aside from the anime version of Witchblade being outright terrible. Hellboy is a bit difficult. Maybe another demonic themed character would work. How about Clarion the witch boy or Wotan (both magic based DC villains)? Don't know much about Constantine or Hellstrom so I can't say much about them.

I think Cyborg probably was not the best choice since he is supposed to have a history with the Teen Titans, and now he is a founding member of the Justice League before anything else. I probably would have preferred one of the other members like Martian Manhunter or Zatanna to have been in his place. I think if they wanted more diversity in the League they could have used Vixen since she is an established member in the previous universe.
Did you read Flashpoint, the event before New 52? In the Flashpoint world, Cyborg was the premier superhero, sort of like what Superman is in the main universe. I guess it was to set up the idea of Cyborg taking on a larger role in the new universe.
I don’t know much about the Image characters either, so thus far I only have a few that I plan on using (which includes some characters that no longer belong to Image). For now I have Spawn, Witchblade, Darkness, Savage Dragon, Invincible, some of the Cyberforce characters (I know almost nothing about them), and some of the Wildstorm characters. I might do some other characters from Spawn or Witchblade as well. There must be many other characters and series that I don’t know, especially the newer ones.
Speaking of Alien and Predator, I planned matches for them too. Predator will be matched with Terminator and the Alien will be matched with the Brood from X-Men.I’m a fan of the Tom Strong series. I think I’ve read most of it, but I assumed it was still somewhat obscure. Do you think he deserves a picture? I guess I would do one of him even if he isn’t well-known if I found the perfect match for him.
I actually have some of the Dungeons and Dragons novels, specifically the Dragonlance Chronicles. I got them from a flea market and I haven’t read them yet. I did see the movie based on the first book though. I could use these characters, but Dungeons and Dragons has so many different warriors, knights, mages and such I’m not sure which ones to choose.I think a demon character for Hellboy is indeed what I might use. Maybe Blue Devil?
As for your other suggestions, I’ll match Wotan with Baron Mordo. I don’t know if I’ll ever use Clarion since he seems like one of the less important characters, though again I may use him if I found the perfect match.

Oh that. Yeah, I've already seen that.
This schedule is a nightmare. It proves that they want to rush out a JL movie as fast as possible with no regard on first introducing the characters. This mean the JL movie will be mostly exposition and backstory because so many characters need to be introduced. Also, why would anyone think that making a Suicide Squad movie during what is essentially wave 1 of the franchise is a good idea? It would make more sense making movies of all the most well known characters first and THEN make movies about B- and C-listers. I mean, how the fuck do they plan to introduce Cpt. Boomerang and Harley Quinn without having a Flash and Batman movie first? People will ask "who the fuck are those and why should we care?" I mean sure, people might know Harley but Cpt. Boomerang? He barely had any appearences in the cartoons and thus the vast majority of people will have a hard time understanding who that is.
Also, "three Lego films in 4 years"? That's not good. The novelty will wear off very quickly if they don't manage to create an unique experience every time. I'm especially iffy about the Lego Movie 2 since, how are they gonna continue the story? Although I might watch the Lego Batman movie. Fantastic Beasts and where to find them sounds interesting though. But they'll probably screw Rowling over like many studios these days do.
But, the Flash will be played by Ezra Miller? That skinny androgyne guy? That doesn't seem right. Or wise. Or anything. I don't know anything about his acting but I can already tell that he would'nt make either a good Barry nor a Wally just by the appearence. Ray Fisher seems to be fitting for Cyborg though. The only good thing seems to be the Rock being Black Adam.
Also, Justice League 1 has only Adams, Cavill and Batflek listed. So, Wonder Woman is not in a JL movie despite being a staple of the team for more than 50 years? That' shit. And no new DC cartoons. After Son of Batman being so damn weak on ALL ends, especially the animation, it's save to say that WB heavily reduced the funding for the animated stuff and now they end it completly.

I know right. Swear Dc should be called DICKS since they don't care about their fans. Plus they are rushing things out because they love Money more than making fans like their stuff.
3 lego films? First one was in 2014? How are they going to have two more films?
Yeah I think they chose him just for more publicing stunt because the actor is gay and they want LGBT audiences to watch the film. Personally I would cast him as the Obsiden, New 52 Alan Scott or if it has to do with the Flash, then cast him as Pied Pipper.
Yeah I'm only piss off about that. As he was choosen as Black Adam since 2006. It's 2014 and yet no footage just annocuments.
WTF Justice League part 1 should be Justice Society of America. Justice League part 2 should be Justice League of America. In all my years as a fan of superheroes DC is pissing me off.

Yeah. They're also way too stupid to see that fan consideration pretty much equals more money. One could argue that Dredd proved this to be wrong but I disagree since Judge Dredd is rather obscure compared to the JLA and general DC properties. It was also not marketed that well. If they where to create a really good product that takes the material as it is (silly but ripe with potential) and takes the fans into consideration then they could make money with these movies even decades later. The Richard Donner Superman movies are proof of that as is every second Star Trek movie.
This would be one of the worst reasons to cast someone. Also, just because he's gay doesn't necessarily mean that gay people would automatically flock to the movie. By that logic they could've cast George Takei instead. I do can see him as Pied Pieper though and not just because of his sexuality.
I'd rather see a JSA movie as part of the second wave of DC movies and kind of a self contained companion movie to the JLA movies covering the 40's (where they're formed) the 60's/70's and the 80's (where they're disbanded). The very last scene of the last JSA movie could have Jay Garrick visiting friends in Central City when Barry zips by and Jay follows him, introducing himself as the Flash Barry read comics about (the JSA would've been said to have merchandise deals with comic companies during the 40's and 50's). Then again I would have EVERY single DC character including the JSA taking part in the final battle against Darkseid in my vision of the 3rd/4th JLA movie. That one would also end with a grill party of the 7 core members.
BTW this is how I would do a Superman movie franchise.
They sure take their sweetass time with their Cpt. Marvel movie. I've read that the original version of the script from way back in 2004 or so was a fantasy/action/comedy wich would've been perfect. But the critical failure of Superman Returns had them scrap it. And now I just hope that they'll adapt the New52 intro stroy of Cpt. Marvel because that one was pretty decent.
I also warmed up with Jason Momoa as Aquaman (not the least because he already knows his way around in Atlatnis XD) although the thought of him having blonde hair is still weird. My guess is they're going for the 90's/JL cartoon look for Aquaman as opposed to the orange scale shirt and green pants.

Thx^^ Notice how the elements with Metallo are pretty much taken from the first few episodes of Superman TAS. And having the realtionship between Lois and Clark evolve over 3 movies is supposed to make it feel more organic and realistic. There are so many more things I'd put in a Superman movie. For example having a Steel movie as companion movie for the Supes movies. I would introduce John Henry Irons, who was inspired by Superman to become Steel, in the first one, where Superman saves him and some other people from Zod's followers, then have him be revealed to be an technician at Lexcorp where he questions Lex's intentions in Superman II and finally leaves the company to use his tech skill to create the Steel power armor. All this would eventually lead into an Steel solo movie that would be released alongside the Superman movies. Same would happen with a Supergirl movie. Imagine my ideas for 3 Superman movies to be a straight line and then that the Steel movie and Supergirl movie would branch off of it meaning that they would be self contained but still linked to the main series.

I just realized that I really should try to get into the movie industry, build up enough financial leverage and power to get my way all the time regardless of what the production company wants and then make DC movies. I certainly have more of a plan than DC/Warner has and I've just watched the cartoons and started reading the comics earlier this year.
Aquaman should be the story of a guy who, after both his parents died of natural causes, decends into the ocean in order to find out how these power he inherited from his mother could be used for good all the while discovering that Atlantis is under a dictatorship. It should be a more lighthearted fantasy adventure movie about discovery, fun, epic visuals (I'm talking James Camerons Avatar under water here) and how the ocean is an important part of our environment and we shouldn't throw our crap in it. At least not ALL the time. Aquaman is one of the very few characters, aside from Swamp Thing, who actually works as an eco superhero without stepping into Cpt. Planet territory. You can do an environmental message with him without beating the audience over the head with it. I even have this idea in my head where Aquaman is collecting old fishing nets from the sea ground, drags them to the fishing companies headquarters and wraps up the managements cars with them just to give them a warning not to do this. Drag nets are often left behind by fishing companies because throwing them away would be too expensive. Although I've read about a company that takes them without any charges and recycles the material.
The only problem I have with the choice of Jason Momoa is that they most likely make Aquaman more like Thor because well, aside from being a barkeeper in the obscure and bizarre Baywatch Nights (David Hasslehoff as paranormal investigator... I'll just let that sink in) Jason Momoa is pretty often in the role of a gruff barbarian type of character. The gritty warrior guys fom Stargate Atlantis and Andromeda, Kal Dimwit from Game of Thrones (seriously how did that guy survived so long without being wounded?!) and Conan the Barbarian are the roles I associate him most with and all of them could be easily retailored into a Thor like character. I genuinly hope they don't do this but make Aquaman a loyal, responsible warrior king in the vein of King Arthur. And then theres the problem with the action. See, in order to create a satisfying Aquaman movie we NEED underwater fight and action scenes that take into account that he can swim almost effortless and thus is not restrained by the waters pressure when moving. This would mean that they must find a way to create such scenes and this'll be hard as hell.
No idea hwy DC couldn't. But it's most likely because Warner Brothers is very incompetent when it comes to managing their properties.
