Organized religion is a crime. However, faith in general is necessary to life, I think.

It's an admirable cause, but don't you worry that it can become too dominant? In trying to appreciate simple things, we can lose sight of the essence by which we started to do so. Rather like the USSR with Communism.

Well, don't get the idea that just because I appreciate simple things that I don't fuss about the way things are. I fuss often, and at times with remarkable eloquence.

I rather thought that your effort to appreciate simple things would act just as a way of 'fussing', in a perverse sense. It's simple an interactionist way of doing it, by focusing less on society and life as a whole and more on the elements that compose it, which I can appreciate greatly.

So let's hear this remarkable eloquence

hah. Well. My remarkable eloquence seems to come most often when I need to help someone. And my helping someone often consists of my delivering blunt honesty, and this is almost always needed and almost always unpleasant for the one on the receiving end. I can also get pretty snazzy at debate or when I need to defend something...but at the moment I suppose I don't have much to be remarkably eloquent about. Plus, I had to dish out some remarkable eloquence to a fellow this evening who desparately needed it. I hate to see people waste their talents and strengths.

I've never been truly convinced by the blunt honesty method of helping people. I understand its strengths, but it's almost as if forcing the truth out and that can be too painful for some... especially those who're very insecure.

I think insecurities are hard for me to undestand. I wish everyone would have a nice spine to depend on, and I seem to not understand well when they don't. Fortunately, when people ask for my help, they know exactly what they're going to get. If they don't know from personal experience, I'll warn them.
