Haha I totally understand if you fell asleep under those circumstances You know, last wednesday there was 1,5 feet of snow on all the roads in the Stockholm area and all of it came over night. My street wasn't ploughed until the evening. Most bus traffic was canceled out where I live so I couldn't make it to my babysitting, that's how bad a snow storm we had. Four people died in traffic related accidents that day due to the snow. So I'd be glad to give you some of our snow if I could

I'm glad you can enjoy thanksgiving food even though you're on your diet! How was it? Aren't you on a break now? How long can you "enjoy" only having to work?

Getting to know older people was no problem on my program since we were an age mixed class with the oldest student being 28. I connected well with the older ones and I actually enjoyed talking to them more than the ones my own age. Both you and Nate (and a German DA-friend) suggested that I should stay in school and promoted college, a lot because of the reason that you won't get a good job otherwise. This is interesting to me because in Sweden it's not really the same thing. Sure, graduating from gymnasiet (high school) is almost required if you want to get hired nowadays but I think about half of the people graduating from gymnasiet continues to study in folk high schools and at universities. And many people who do that still don't do it right after gymnasiet but might just take a year or several off to work or travel or whatever they might feel like. I guess it's more common to go to college if you want to get into certain carriers that require a master’s degree or whatever, like medicine, law and that stuff. Although you can also only take a few short courses at university for any reason there is. But getting a good job is really about climbing from job to job, starting out with working as a low-paid janitor perhaps. When you have a job to write down in your resume you’re more likely to get another job and then you continue to climb. My brother didn’t finish gymnasiet but managed to get hired anyway and now has a decent job. He’s really clever and confident so I guess it wasn’t too hard for him.

So yeah, I decided to quit school. I really didn’t like the way the program was set up. You could easily tell that they hadn’t put nearly as much effort into the jazz program as the classical program. The principal of the school is Russian and she pretty much only like classical violin music. Piano is okay too but singers – not so much… It’s like they started the jazz program to try and finance the classical program! When I did my audition to get in the principal asked me if I had sung anything classical. Why would she ask that when I sing jazz? Damn, lady I also was dead tired of going to school at all and my self-esteem totally disappeard when it comes to my singing. So all the time I felt pressure. Mostly it was that I had to learn a song until ensemble class and then knowing that it would sound like crap when I sang. My ensemble teacher was stupid because he came with a new song all the time and wanted us to play it that very lesson but as a singer I couldn’t do that since I can’t sing a prima vista. Even when I told him that him doing that wasn’t working for me he continued doing it. And many of the courses I had to take didn’t feel relevant at all. In one course we had to analyze classical music and try to figure out during what era it was written and I didn’t feel like I needed that. I have already studied music history at gymnasiet and that was interesting but I didn’t need more than that. (I just read through my last reply to you and realized I already wrote some of this stuff but I guess they’re more accurate and more extended ) Now that I’m looking for work I’m feeling much more at ease, happier overall and more confident about everything really. And I really feel like working! I’ve never felt that before

When I get enough money I want to buy an apartment with Viktor. Dad is going to sponsor with 50 000 crowns (about 7506 dollars) ‘cause he helped my brother with that much. I’m really longing to have my own place…

And soon it's Christmas and then my friends will be coming home and we're gonna celebrate new years together YAY!!!

We've been a couple since Feb 29th (I only sort of did that on purpose ) but we didn't settle on complete commitment until I went back to visit a month ago. But as far as what we'll consider an anniversary, it's Feb 29. Scratch that one off the bucket list, doing something worth remembering on a day that only occurs once every 4 years haha

Right now she's working on relearning advanced math stuff (she's a computer programmer) for job interviews. She showed me a wikipedia page on algorithms and I closed out of it after about 3 seconds because there weren't actually any numbers on there. Then she'll apply to a couple different places and fly out here for interviews. Once she finds something good, she'll move as soon as she can. Hopefully by the end of June, maybe.

Also. I introduced Jenny to TF2. We've been playing on some weekend nights until really late at night, which means you'd be awake. We should try to play together sometime.

These following two weeks are pretty much hell. Yay. Admission tests, our final concert week, a musical I've got a role in plus lots of school work. Woopie-dee-fuckin-doo.
