You're so sweet. q u q I know. I'm bad at actually making myself draw. It's just a hobby of mine so work/school comes first. It doesn't help that I'm super critical of my work so I can't "just draw." I have to like sit down and focus for a few hours. That means I only really get to draw when I don't have school so summer/winter. ::

Eninaj27 In reply to QuimmLick [2013-04-30 21:14:22 +0000 UTC]
I know what you mean, I have the same with others of my hobbies.
But I have to draw nearly every day otherwise I miss something :3 Oh, and everybody need some hours for their arts I think.
Don't hurry. I just like to see your stuff.

When I was younger I had the need to draw everyday. Now, it seems to have switched to writing. I'm less insecure about my writing, so maybe that's why I can just spit out a couple of paragraphs easily.
I just finished another essay. YAY! SUMMER IS HERE SOON! SO! Hopefully I can have your comments on my future works. Thanks for sticking with me! ;>

Oh *lol* And I have the same problem with writing. I wrote a lot in my youth but now I am very lazy. I would like to have more motivation to continuing my novel ;_;
Good look then! Hopefully summer will be great this year

Alas, my phone does not allow me to reply to notes. |:
But anyway... Ten pages? Dude I have a degree in literature, I read Russian novels in my spare time (I'm a loser), and friends send me manuscripts to edit. Yes, I will gladly read your story. O U O
π: 0 β©: 1
QuimmLick In reply to Opheer [2012-12-21 17:53:04 +0000 UTC]
O o O !!! Hello my fellow literature major <333 Well, I don't have my degree yet. Working towards it! One more yearrrrr!
And you are not a loser for reading Russian novels. You are my hero. Teach me your ways! I've only read a few of Tolstoy's. Love them. I also have a weird thing for Ancient Greek tragedy and old British romantic/gothic novels.
I will send it to you in a note then. Gabby's little tidbit isn't all that epic though. I was just kind of figuring out his history. Trying to figure out why he would love his mom so much even though she was a monster and also trying to figure out why he has a religious obsession. I feel weird talking about characters because I know so little about them. LOL they possess my fingers and type for me I swear.

Opheer In reply to QuimmLick [2012-12-22 08:13:34 +0000 UTC]
LOL I actually remember you telling me you were after a degree in literature. Awesome, just one more year for you, good to know.
I also tried for a minor in creative writing- that's how I found out I'm no good at it. Haha.
Ah, man, I'm a terrible reader. It takes me ages to finish those Russki novels cause they're so damn depressing, haha! I like the classics too. I have a weakness for contemporary Spanish writers.
Ah that's cool- I bet this will be fun. A religious obsession? Dude we both have gangsters who like snakes and are fixated with religion. Canny.
Maybe I should just write about my ocs too. I have a hard time getting to know some of them, maybe just randomly typing stuff, I'll come up with ideas.

At my university, they require lit majors to take a concentration... I choose creative writing. So I write a lot. LOL mostly short stories though, because fuck novel-length works. Too much effort. I'm not gonna do anything with creative writing most likely though because I wanna go to law school after I finish my undergraduate. I'm blabbering. -ahem-
Spanish writers~ o 3 o I haven't read any of those. Right now I have a thing for contemporary male American writers. Cormac McCarthy <33333333
You shouldddd! Then you can share them with me and I'll get inspiration since it seems like our characters are kindasortacoincidentally aligned in their characteristics. Religion and snakes man. They go hand in hand like pb&j.
π: 0 β©: 1
Opheer In reply to QuimmLick [2012-12-23 08:17:07 +0000 UTC]
Hey ramble away, I don't mind. I also remember asking if you were taking lit as a prelaw. Lol most of my coursemates are slogging it through law school now. Since I've never been the scholarly sort, I'm back in school, this time I'm studying painting. Herp derp.
Dude... Is that the guy who wrote The Road? I could be wrong. I both loved and hated that book.
Ahaha I feel self conscious about writing, moreso than drawing. Writing's a good deal more difficult, I think. I can turn my brain off while drawing, with writing nope. But yeah, maybe I will.
Nope still can't reply through notes on phone. But anyway.
Aw young Gabe! He was a sweetie. How did he become all vicious and such?
Well I can see how Gabe would equate salvation with religion, or the trappings of religion, at least. Was the professor an orphan, or put through the welfare system as well?

QuimmLick In reply to Opheer [2012-12-31 08:39:53 +0000 UTC]
omg my replyyy it's so late. Unacceptable. -ahem- I've been so fucking busy. I actually have a secret. I'm going to be in Paris for 5 months to study at Sciences Po. ahmahgahd. I'm so excited but it's huge craziness and stress. Anywway, now that that's outta the way.
THAT'S SO COOL!!! You actually study art and stuff. You're so fancy. q u q my hero~ -presents ms. pheer with gold, frankincense and myrrh- I wish you all the luck in your endeavors.
You are very much correct. It is. That book is like my bible. That book and another called Books of Blood by another author. Whenever I get writer's block I just crack one of those books open and draw inspiration from them.
Writing is definitely harder for me than drawing is. I feel like I suck more at drawing, but I don't really care that I'm not all that great. It's just a hobby for me, something I do to relax and enjoy. Writing is my serious business so that makes my brain hurt after a while. BUT that shouldn't discourage you! Because you'd be left with some great great stuff and best of all you could freaking illustrate it!
Gabe was indeed a cutiepie as a kid. He got bad over time as social welfare institutions failed him/made things worse for him. And yes the prof was which is why he wanted to avoid having Gabe in it, but he was unable to stop it because I mean he had to report Gabe's mom and that launched a whole typical investigation and thus started the foster home jumping. Gabe would always run away and get into deep shit and then go back to his mom and the cycle would repeat until he was just angry/raging hormonal bad teen. And he just stayed that way. This wasn't coherent. I'm sorry. It's like one. I TRIED. orzorzorz;

Hey it's no problem. I was traveling all throughout the break- didn't have time to sit down at the computer. So. You are not alone in the late reply department.
DUDE. Now THAT is cool! Paris, that is so sweet. I haven't been there in ages, I'll probably never get to go back, haha. Are you taking classes related to your course? Or is it something else entirely? Will you get your classes credited? Sorry, sorry. So many questions. I also want to ask if you speak French, and where are you gonna be staying?
PSH. I am not cool. I just SOUND cool. In reality I'm a terrible painter and that's why I only post digital stuff on dA. Neiter am I baby Jesus, but that's cool and in keeping with the season LOL.
Yeaaahh I suppose I am tempted to write again. But I'm trying to resist the siren call. I always feel like writing is harder than drawing or painting. Drawing and painting is srs bzns, sure, but writing is even MORE serious. It's so technical, and even if you get the technical bits right, there's still the prose and poetry of your writing to be concerned with and all that...
Ohh... So I assume someone well to do eventually adopted the prof, and that's how he got an education? Or did he put himself through school? And didn't the professor eventually adopt Gabe? Those two are so cute I swear, and I know it's just a ...little obscene, but I ship it. /facepalm
How did Gabe get into the gang business, anyway?
You're coherent bro- I'm the one who feels like I'm not making sense. Just got home, need sleep. LOL. And man I need to reply to all these notes/comments. /stares at them

QuimmLick In reply to Opheer [2013-01-09 15:13:36 +0000 UTC]
Ooooh you did? 8) Where'd you gooo? If you don't mind sharing that is. I love to travel. It's my addiction, so I always like to hear where other people have been. It gives me inspiration. <3
You've been to Paris too? That's awesome. This is my first time and my French I'm realizing is not up to par. harhar. I've taken French classes throughout high school and did one quarter in college. So I speak a little, read quite a lot, and understand pretty well. My Spanish helps. xD It helps me cheat in comprehending.
Anyway I just literally finished signing up for classes. I really wanted to take one literature class despite the fact that the university is like a premier political science university. But I fucked up during registration and didn't get it. :< So Now I'm in like all law/political science classes. I hope I don't go into law overload. I am taking a French language class to help me get my French speaking abilities moving along.
It's always the amazing painters that say they're terrible btw. Because they have amazing standards for themselves~
And about Gabby, yeah the Prof was adopted and he hates his childhood up until the point he got adopted into a family that actually gave a fuck about him. He's not angsty about it, just cautious. Though he does have issues relating to people which is why he really prefers the company of reptiles and isn't too into the touchy touchy business... prolly why he never marries or gets with anyone. And yes. He eventually adopts Gabe after Gabe's momma kicks the bucket. And just in time too because only a year or two later Pratt dies from a snakebite and since Gabby is his only relative he inherits all of the money. Which is when Gabby is like... I can use this to make more bank.
LOL omg... Pratt/Gabe. I can't. I'm laughing, but I really do enjoy writing subtle sexual undertones in their relationship. Even though I will for a fact say that nothing happens between them. Ever. But, it's fun to write and I bet kind of fun to read? Because then you have this mystery aspect that grabs you~
And Gabby got into dealing with gangs at a young age because of his momma. She was his gate way because she was a hooker/dealer and had connections with all sorts of people. Gabby just by hanging around her picked them up. Also, he wasn't a good kid in school. He was tall but really skinny and with his bad attitude he always got into fights so he looked for means of protection. Therefore, he'd get involved with people who knew his mom and stuff. The friends he did make and his girlfriend (who he stayed with for a few years and met because Emilio is her cousin) were also in the same loop and therefore they just got involved in all that shit together. Gabby had the money though so he was able to run the show and he just kept climbing above the rest of them.

LOL nowhere amazing, just visited my people ie my parent's respective families. Typical holiday stuff. I haven't been overseas in years, but I'd love to go again.
Not in a long while, haha. I lived in Europe for short while when I was a kid. Can't remember anything of the languages. HAHA well I'm sure you'll get better as time goes by.
Ohhh. Man, I'm sorry you didn't get the classes you wanted, but hey, polsci in French, of all things? That's bound to be interesting considering the French and their philosophical bent and their love of debate. And hey, it will help with the future plans of taking up law. 0 u 0 d So you're there now? Dude, that's totally sweet. How is it? Staying in apartment or something, or dorms?
Oh gosh poor Pratt. Well I think it's sweet he has Gabe to keep him company (sort of) during his last year or so. "I can use this to make more bank"- THAT'S THE SPIRIT, GABE. I loled. So Pratt was pretty wealthy, I'm guessing? I never knew reptiles could be so lucrative. XD
HAHA- that sexual subtext is pretty fun, and what can I say I'm sucker for ward/guardian type relationships, especially when the ward's a bit of a handful, and the guardian is all prim and proper.
Oh wait, so Gabe lived with his girlfriend for a while before Pratt adopted him?
I'm amused because like...fictional gangland New York seems like a very crowded place. I know at least three or four other people (not including myself) who have gangsters based in the big apple.

QuimmLick In reply to Opheer [2013-01-16 16:35:50 +0000 UTC]
Ohh well that's still fun~ And you did? You're so lucky! I can't decide whether I prefer Europe or the U.S... like to live in and stuff. I love them both for different reasons.
Right now we've been taking a methodology class, so they've been trying to teach us how to write essays in the French style and it's SUPER philosophical. Instead of thesis statements they got this thing called the problΓ©matique which is a question and then you gotta answer your own question. It makes my fucking head hurt. It'll be interesting to write - . - But Paris so far has been awesome. I love it. I am staying in a small studio apartment by myself. Our school is in the middle of Paris so they don't have any housing. I've started a blog to document my study abroad.
He was wealthy. He was a PhD Bio professor at Colombia University, he also did research and wrote books and stuff on all sorts of scaly things.
Nooo... after Pratt dies is when he goes to live with her. He pretty much just abandoned Pratt's place because he hated being in there. He moves in MANY MANY YEARS LATER.
New York City is crowded in real life so... it's okay if fictional New York is crowded too?? LOL It's a fun place to rp in. our gangsters should get togetherrr some time.

Europe for the food and old things, US for the fact English is a major language fuck learning a new one. LOL.
Dude, that sounds really cool. And not too surprising either- ah the French and their philosophy classes. So you have to write in French?
AGH living in Paris sounds like it would be great, damn. Might I stalk this blog, perhaps? o u o
Ah, Pratt, he lived the dream. A swank apartment and snakes- it's all I ever wanted in life.
And I see. Why'd Gabby not like the place?
Lol hey it's totally cool that fictional new York is crowded; verisimilitude. Ahhh you don't want to meet mine- I like Gabby though, he's cute/fun/dope.

I have to give my first oral presentation tomorrow. Ahhhh! Nervous. LOL but not really because it's not graded since it's just for practice. But still, it's in front of people so I don't wanna be silly... because they will judge me! And luckily no, I don't have to write in French. :> Yaaaay! if I did. Holy shit, what a bitch! LMAO
You maaay. I was gonna update it tonight, but I actually went to see a movie instead. Derp. I will try again... some other time. or maybe now. IDK
[link]
And same. Pratt's life is like my dream life. Haha because I'm also socially awkward and anti-social I'll probably end up like him. I just hope I don't get an asshole son. xD
Gabby didn't like it because it wasn't his style. And at the point that Pratt died, he kinda hated him and didn't want anything to do with him... unless it involved spending the money. He just didn't sell the place because he figured he'd always have a place to go to in case he failed at life.
That is an awesome word. Verisimilitude. Oh god... the word makes me drool.
And thaaanks. And I doooo~ They're all so fucking sexy. I just... yes. Yes. They make me happy inside.

Nah, bro, I'm sure you're going to own that presentation.
PFFF- okay, I'm relieved right along with you that it doesn't have to be written in French. If I were an exchange student with not too good a grasp of the home country's language, and forced to write a paper in said language, I would cry.
Hoho, I chortle with voyeuristic glee. Your name is so pretty, why??
HAHA well we can form an association of socially awkward writer-artists most likely to wind up like fictional bachelor professors. I can see myself settling into his lifestyle. I don't mind, as long as I have moolah.
" He just didn't sell the place because he figured he'd always have a place to go to in case he failed at life." Oh gosh, I love this. It says so much with so few words.
I always hear the word verisimilitude in my very prim and proper elderly professor's voice.
PFT they just look sexy. They do ok as long as they don't open their mouths.

I did own it. I'm so happy. I'm such an overachiever in school. Haha it's not even graded.
And yeah I'd probably cry too especially since it seems like Sciences Po papers are 10-15 pages long on average. O A O Not okay in French!
My... my name is pretty? I don't think so. On Facebook I like to go by Vanessa PistolWhip GunnZalez though. Always funny when people add me.
Yaaay! You are welcome to come over for tea at my awkward bachelor pad any time. Don't mind the cats. lol
Gabby is such a little scum. He'll suck dick for cash if need be and not feel ashamed at all.
Hah omg. I just got the image of this like super sexy man at the bar who doesn't even speak and he still gets a chick each night because he's all 'tall dark handsome and mysterious.' lmao

HAHA totally not okay, I WOULD cry. I got like a 3.9 in an exam the other day (4 is the highest) I was so mad. I wouldn't call myself an overachiever though, I'm a professional slacker.
I think so! But PistolWhip's gotta be the best second name I've ever heard, even if it's a pseudonym.
I will invite myself over any time, be warned.
Oh my god, LOL. GABBBYYY. Seth would do the same. Has done it. Doesn't give a fuck.
You know if the mobster thing doesn't work out for them, they can always go into prostitution.
And if the trick refuses to pay up, they can always beat the shit out the guy and take his wallet anyway. Cannot type with straight face.

Yum. I really love champagne. Much more than wine, which people think is weird but whatever. Don't care!
And oh mannn you were so close. SO CLOSE. I'd be pissed too if I were that close. I slack off but I work hard to get the shit done and do it well. But also I work better under pressure I think.
I have a thing for pistol whipping <3 IDK man. Just blood and gore and violence are precious to me. In art and film and music and stuff. Not in real life. I'm not that twisted. My favorite pistol whip is in the movie Goodfellas.
OMG. -whispers- Gabby has done it too... when he was a teen mind you, not recently.
I mean except his boyfrand's dick but that's different.
But omg... I can't stop laughing. Oh. my. god. This image. It is so perfect. Just the image of these two being paid to be in like a threesome. Accepting. And then just laying the guy out cold on the ground when he threatens to bring down their reputations with photo evidence/blackmail. Then both of them just like divvying up all the money/shit they stole and secretly exchanging numbers. I can't. Can't breathe.

Pfff- I like champagne, and it is the perfect celebratory drink.
I was. I'm mad, but it's okay. Now I have to get better marks in this class just to make myself feel better LOL. There ain't nothing like working with a tight deadline.
I love violence and louche things and drug use in fiction/music. That's fun. I suppose I need help, but it's just fiction. Goodfellas! I like Guy Ritchie films too.
Oh my god Gabby you're precious, I love you. /facepalm
I'm just covering my face with my hands because I can't. That's ...yeah that's just about right, I can totally see that. I don't know if that's great, or sad. Guys I know you have no morals but STANDARDS guys. Where are your standards, you can't go accepting money from strange man for sex. Even if you're just going to rob him. I'm laughing, I can't. All, we should do this again sometime.

At least you have good source of motivation? Because sometimes I can't give a fuck to give and I'm literally scrambling to find a way to finish an assignment because I never even bothered.
That's exactly what I say! I'm just like in real life I'm a squishy fluff ball and I'd never wish all the shit I enjoy reading/watching/listening to on anyone. Poor people! Haha
omg... do you like Rockn'Rolla? Because that film and Tom Hardy are literally two things I enjoy muchly. Yes.
Yep no morals and very low standards. Our boys. Aren't they just great? I really feel the urge to draw this scenario just because omg. Like it would be so awkward. Just a before shot and all the comments would be like "this is so hot omg yes." And then a month later upload the second part with a halfdead man in their midst and them two all pleased with themselves. xDDD Just the greatest thoughts ever. Thank you for this.

I love that film!Ha! Fuck man you can't be gay, I knew all your girlfriends.
And Snatch, I enjoy that too. And Tarantino films.
Omg, trolling your watchers, that's terrible. Everyone would be like YES GAY GANGSTERS then it's like nope. Go right ahead, draw it, with my blessings.
