In MLPFiM, there straight-up wasn't a "body ballistics" element ta tha show cuz, well, they was ponies. Put ya muthafuckin choppers up if ya feel dis! There could be no implications or overtones bout body shamin or reinforcement of xyz standards, etc. cuz there was no human body shapes ta which tha crew could compare theyselves. This element was straight-up blingin ta me, cuz as one of mah thugs whoz ass has ta rap lil playas down from depression at least once a week cuz they teased bout they bodies, I could take comfort up in knowin dat MLP wasn't goin ta participate.
Equestria Hoes breaks this. Well shiiiit, it has fucked up dis regardless of how tha fuck def tha animation be n' how tha fuck well-thought-out tha rap turns up ta be. This is suttin' dat cannot be fixed by "givin it a cold-ass lil chance."
Ultimately, all tha charactas is tha same shape cuz IT IS EASIER TO MANUFACTURE TOYS THAT WAY. MLP do tha same thang-- all tha pony toys is cast from or less tha same ol' dirty mold, wit straight-up few charactas wit unique body types dat is not "recycled" (ex. Right back up in yo muthafuckin ass. Shinin Armor, Spike, Granny Smizzle, Zecora).
But why not make all tha human toys a uniform (and therefore easy as fuck ta manufacture) but DIFFERENT shape than tha Bratz/Monsta High/moe proportion thatz been regurgitated over n' over fo' tha past decade or so?
My fuckin dopest guesses:
1) This character design is Hasbroz way of throwin they basebizzle cap up in tha rang among other preteen-target franchises like Monsta High. They is tryin ta differentiate Equestria Hoes from MLP:FiM by emulatin toys made fo' a olda crew so they can tap tha fuck into dat crew as a source of revenue.
2) Because there be a probably a ton of market research dat shows dat toys wit dem traits push mo' betta n' shit. Makin a realistically proportioned (no giant heads, no mile-long legs) or even stylized "fat" doll aint gonna push like a stylized "thin" doll will.*
Even if whoeverz up in charge decided dat they wanted ta cook up a human cast (and therefore toys) dat deviated from dem thangs up in spite of them, Hasbro would up in all likelihood ask dem ta fix it yo. Hasbro didn't allow "Queen" Celestia cuz dat shiznit was too radical a cold-ass lil concept yo. Hasbro aint concerned wit tha wack well-bein of its target crew or tha impact of they decisions on tha culture.
THEY ARE CONCERNED WITH MAKING MONEY.
Playin off of dis particular element of tha status quo be a cold-ass lil skanky shot. Whether they meant ta or not, they have holla'd all up in tha target crew dat a thin, uniform, unattainable body shape is WORTH MORE THAN ANY OTHER KIND OF BODY n' dat other kindz of humans do not deserve representation cuz they not marketable. pimps seriously
And while I KNOW dat tha company is just tryin ta protect itself, I still know dat Hasbro aint a looming, anonymous, Mackdaddy Sombra-ish corporation. I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch yo. Human beings is makin these decisions yo. Human beings, probably wit crews n' lil pimps somewhere up in they lives, decided dat dis character design was tha dopest chizzle despite what tha fuck it would imply n' perpetuate.
Human beings decided dat tha easiest way ta make scrilla was a funky-ass mo' betta chizzle than tha mo' experimenstrual but potentially revolutionary one. I be disappoint.
