OK, I guess I can relate to that. Is the resolution on your cell phone any good? I hope so.
Thank you! I'm glad you loved my cloud things. Yes, the kitten one is cute but so is the pinkish winged Pegesus.

Oh, , that's too bad. Maybe next time. I know I only got about 3 shots of the running horse one partially formed, the one I posted, and one blowing apart already.

Not usually from what I've seen. What the wind forms it tears apart almost as quickly.

Question: what other way is there to keep down the horse poulation than culling?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Rasmoose22 In reply to fuzzy-panda18 [2009-03-24 08:36:01 +0000 UTC]
well there's rounding them up and using them as stock horses (they're EXCELLENT for this because they're so hardy, and they're REALLLY good horses for kids too!) or there's birth control for mares or even gelding some of the colts. It's not the fact they're culling the horses it's HOW they're doing it. They shoot them from helicopter in dense areas, which means they can't get 100% accurate shots and many (most of them) don't die straight away, therefore they're left in immense pain and some have been known to live an extra two days before dying of bloodloss and starvation. Foals have also been orphaned and died of starvation and stress while standing at their dead mothers' sides. One horse even broke it's leg after falling when it was shot and lived an extra two days in that condition. But then, the government doesn't even keep the numbers down, they simply do nothing for a while, let the numbers rise, and then go out and do it again. Because the helicopter culling is so barbaric it's been BANNED in New SOuth Wales. There's more info about cullings and their results on [link] as for the mustangs a law was passed that if they're over the age of 10 they are unable to be adopted and many are sold for slaughter. 10 years old... anyone would consider their horse still a BABY at that age and these mustangs are being condemned. Birth control has been proved successful in the US so they need to bring it in over here.

Your welcome and thank YOU too! I love your work too! They're so pretty!! I do all my drawings from photos and spend about fifteen - twenty minutes on the outlines and draw in all the basic line details (such as the muscles) and then i just copy the photo to shade in the darker areas and lighter areas. My fav part to draw is the nose and eyes It helps heaps to convert the picture you're drawing from to grey scale too, unless you're doing it in colour that is . But i have drawn some of my pictures from colour (such as my sleeping foal and the unicorn, the arabian, pharlap and a couple others). Also when i pick the pictures i draw i pick ones with heaps of highlights and shadows because it gives heaps of depth to the drawing That's why i've only drawn MY horse a couple of times, because i haven't taken many photos with much depth. But i'll draw some more of her soon Also to add some of the lighter highlights its good to have a kneedable eraser to 'dab?' onto the paper a bit to give it a slight highlight.
