Usually highly educated people and swedish-speaking finns speaks swedish well. There is also regional differences. Where is Swedish-speaking Finns - there is more swedish skilled people.

Yes, I know Tom of Finland. His real name was Touko Laaksonen, right? Tom's men are a little exaggerated, but it makes his drawings more fun... hehe. B)
Also artist Kalervo Palsa painted kinda perv artworks, but more surrealistic works than Tom's.

Finns are perverts...

ha ha ha yeah you guys really like your Sauna (I guess that is why the rest of the world adopted the word (well except for us swedes, wich say Bastu in stead of Sauna))

Yeah I am not really good at languages either, I learnt my three main languages as a kid, swedish from the contry I grew up in, english the first language of my father and danish because I spendt a lot of time in denmark as a kid and later on too..

Now I live in vienna, actually I have almost lived here for 4 years or something now, my Astro german is really bad... but still I am leaning more and more but to slow...

I had a finnish swedish friend, he spoke both finnish and swedish, but I guess that it is more common among the swedish finns to be bilingual than the finnish finns?

I also had a girlfriend, wich was born in sweden but had two finnish parents, but I didn´t learn more than a few words of finnish...

yeah I like Tom of Finlands paintings because the are so extreme in propotions and that he is so consistant in what he pains, but yet he manage to find new ideas all the time (well when he was alive anyway)

had a look at Kalervo Palsa really liked a lot of hiss art...

You still grew up in Sweden, are you swedish, or aren't you anything -ish? Well, maybe it's not much matter. B)

I'm so finn-finn, I have not learned many languages. I haven't needed to speak anything else than finnish, because I haven't friends or family who speak else language than finnish. It would be more useful for me to speak other languages. I was in London last spring and I was so helpless there because my english was so bad... :/

Well it's more common (speak swedish) there where live much swedish finns. There usually also finnish-finnish people can speak swedish, because they need to speak swedish. Uh, I dont know, I'm not any society scientist...

Yeah, Tom Of Finland really had skill draw men's body. Grrrrr.... B)

yeah well I would like to speak much more languages...
I was sad when I went to school because most others could speak some other second and third language like hungarian, arabic, "jugoslav", finnish, spanish or simmilar... (I grew up in a very muti-cultural enviroment in the city of Malmö)

yes I am mostly swede, but no nationalist about it, my fathers family was from circus and there all kinds of people met...

yeah I think it is a big handicappe if you don´t speak english theese days, but still it is also kind of sad that everyone speaks english all the time, I think it intimidates us from spreaking other languages...

he he he yeah Tom of Finland really could draw bodies, but they are a bit to extreme for me to find handsome, sexy, good looking, but I do love his drawings anyway, I love that he loved what he was doing...

hmm don´t you watch english speaking television in finland? because that is how many kids in sweden learn their first english???

Yeah, language skills are very useful to understand others. Hope, you weren't too outsider or something.
It's a little hard (for me) to understand, because I have always lived just with finns.

From circus? Wow, that's really bohemian! Cool!
I'm not also very nationalist. This is my home, it's okay, and other homes are as valuable as mine. B)
However, there is also people which thinks like "FINLAND IS THE BEST, OTHER COUNTRIES SUCKS!"

Hmmm... It's still somehow useful that is language which everybody can understand even a little... I don't know. :/

Well, I draw prefer less extreme man bodies than Tom of Finland drew. Maybe I'm boring realist. :'D
I have also always adored persons which doing things they love.

Well, Of course I watch english speaking television, but subtitles harm my learning. :'D
Sometimes I watch South Park from internet without subtitles, that's it... Okay, sometimes I watch my favourite movies without subtitles. But I almost never speak/use english which is quite big lack...

yeah I guess it is good that most of the world can communicate, but I am still waiting for the "babel fish" invention so you can communicate in any language to anyone elese without knowing their launguage he he!

yeah I also respect the people who does what they like very much, it is cool with those kind of artists...

I guess that here in Europe, you finish speakers have a hard time because you language is so diffrent, because the other large language families, Germanic, Latin languages and even the slavic are more intergrated to each others, I mean especially the latin languages and the germanic... I mean english is almost like a mix between Latin and germanic...

But still you have the estonians, they speak almost the same language as finnish or?
hungarian is rellated to finnish but you don´t really understand each others do you?

but your english is great, I understand everything you write...

Yeah, I learn especially all vulgar phrases from South Park. XD
Okay, I really don't know anything about language families, but I know finnish is quite different than english. But I think Swedish is easier to learn especially for a little child than english, because Swedish is maybe nearer finnish and here is born much Swedish expressions into finnish spoken language.
For examples: Swedish says: "Vänta!" and Finnish says "Venttaa!" :'D
Finn may say also: "Mä fundeeraan (I ponder)" which comes from "fundera".
Here is also quotations from russian language.

We can understand estonian a little. It sounds almost the same than finnish and many words reminds each others. I don't know any hungarian, so I don't know.

ha ha ha yeah vulgar phrases is a thing I collect in many languages...

well unfortunently I don´t do as much as I would like to do... wish I could be stronger again in so many ways...

yeah well sweden and finland was in the same kingdom for 500 years so actually it is weird that swedish hasn´t got more finnish words and finnish not more swedish words than we have, but sure some words have been crossed between the language, in swedish we can say: "Rappa Kalja" when someone talks crap or doesn´t express themselves very good, I guess that is from the finnish word "Raapa Kaalia" wich means something about bad beer or something?

did I tell you that I once had a finnish girl friend (and some finnish friends) but didn´t learn many words, only Muta, piko piski, mina raaka sta sinuua (did I spell any of thoose words the right way?)

ha ha ha why do you use school books when there is google translator, it is almost like a "babel fish"
