# About me

My name is Rhetoricism, and lots of words play themselves out in my mind. Occasionally, I have the presence of mind to get them out on paper in the right order.

I ran away, once. But, here we are with you are at my mercy -disregarding the fact that you could leave at any time-. Really, though, having taken the trouble to find me out in the lonesome back-pages of the internet, don't you think you should stay awhile and read?

After all, I am in the business of writing, and writings without a reader are... well, literary self-indulgence. And being self-indulgent is only half the fun of writing.

Well, I'm not sure I appreciate you cluttering up my page with links to your own content. Bloody bad show, chap.

I think I'm also hungry for "something interesting". I try to find that dizzy height in chocolate. But of course, it never suffices.

Thanks for the llama.
P.s I like your words.

Chocolate isn't always satisfying, but my favourite has got to be anything from Cadbury's Marvelous Creations range. Chocolate with fizzy pop rocks? Sign me right up!

You're very kind, friend

Old school for me:

Would eat every day for every meal if it didn't bring me terrible health.

Hi there! Thanks for the Llama. Here's one from me also.
I totally understand your sentiment about leaving a more thoughtful
commentary. With so many text addicts around these days, you would
think they have plenty of things to say about arts and literature. But sadly,Β  silent watching,
fave and runners and one liners have been part of the social
norm on Deviant Art. Whenever I come around to share a commentary, I practically
break that social norm all the time. XD

When I first joined DA, I was kind of shocked at the lack of commentaries with many wonderful art works. But one day, I took it upon myself to take initiative to lead by example. It just finally hit me, the moment I turned off my computer screen and noticed my own reflection. From that day on, I learned to be the support that I had hoped to see in others. So I decided to use my writing skills to support fellow artist and writers. In mid commentary, I also discovered a cool perk in which I can also interpret people's art works. It makes for a creative way to advertise your writing skills as a writer. And what better way to do so than to support fellow artist and writers? Eventually, I've grown to genuinely enjoy reaching out and connecting with creative people here online. It gives me a sense of purpose and a comfort to know that I can make a difference in someone's life. Unfortunately, literature here on Deviant Art, isn't very popular. I learned that the hard way when I posted my fan fiction literature. But despite the lack of interest, it did help inspire the idea of sharing interpretations. I decided to delete my fan-fiction literature from DA, and reserve my best ideas for my own original light novel instead. Here on DA, I settled for writing small segments of scenes that would accompany fan-related screen captures. It seems to work better for me this way. Tactically, the short fan-related writing along with the photo-manipulation images, would serve as my visual reference for my original works in progress. So, everything I post in my gallery has many purpose aside from personal indulgence. ^^

Oh! I almost forgot! Something interesting I should share in the commentaries. Hm...
well...I do have a personal motto that I strive to live by.Β Β  My personal motto: "Strive to become a protagonist, because main characters never settle for anything as they are, they stand out to become the difference." Β

Rhetoricism In reply to Tenchi8 [2016-05-17 10:42:16 +0000 UTC]

Literature on DA is a very small community, and I've also found that out the hard way. One mis-step, and you're remembered forevermore as 'that person who did the thing'.

For a while, I used to feature a lot of lesser-known artwork as the previews for my writing: it helped to set the mood, enticed people to read, and was a nice feature for the artist. I also used to drop a fair few critiques: people like words being written about their work, and if all goes well, it helps out a fair bit.

I also moderated for a while: good moderators are *always* needed to sort groups backend out, always.

Now, after a long hiatus, I rather just want to write a bit. Nothing complicated. So far, it's going well.

Many thanks for the interesting words! I really do appreciate it. That's a solid motto to live by!

That's great to hear. ^^
I was encouraged to come up with a group, but I wasn't
sure I'd have the time to really manage it. It was going to be a group
for original characters. But I have no idea how to organize anything for it.
I never had much time to browse and research on it, since I'm currently
at work with my novel writing.

Your very welcome. Glad to hear of your writing coming along well.
Nothing beats doing the very things that makes you feel alive.

Heh, thanks the the Llama! I'm not really sure what to say that's interesting, for I am but a simple writer within the swirling mass of artitsts, but I shall try.

Why is a writer's mind like a writing desk?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Rhetoricism In reply to NailsRose [2016-05-17 10:36:43 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... I'm not quite sure. Why is a writers mind like a writing desk?
(In my case, it is because cake is kept on both...)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NailsRose In reply to Rhetoricism [2016-05-17 13:40:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, that certainly is a lot sweeter than my answer.

I believe the two are the same because a piece of literatureΒ  appears in both the writers mind and on the paper or computer that can be seen upon it.Β  Both help to create and shape the piece to the best it can possibly be. Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Rhetoricism In reply to NailsRose [2016-05-22 06:02:45 +0000 UTC]

That's a much more sensible answer than mine, for sure.

One of these days, I hope to work out just why a raven is like a writing desk...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NailsRose In reply to Rhetoricism [2016-05-22 22:07:18 +0000 UTC]

My answer for that one is that ideas for a piece of literature fly onto the page much like a raven.Β

Something interesting, then? Hmm...all right...lemme see now...crows are considered the smartest birds on the planet.
